This woman took one look at me, clearly a rookie, and walked me through that menu like a docent at a museum of fried excellence. She explained the difference between the combos, told me exactly what I was getting into with the heat levels, and steered me and my girl toward the #3 and the #4 without a single wrong turn. She even handled the custom order stuff (no pickles on the slider, no Dave's sauce, kale slaw on the side) without flinching. No sighing. No "uh, let me check." Just calm, competent, chicken-forward wisdom. Also let it be known: she suggested adding cheese. Eighty-nine cents. Best financial decision I've made all year, and I've made some decent ones. Food came out fast, hot, and exactly how we ordered it. Mild was the perfect call, flavor without the regret. But honestly the food is only half the review, because plenty of places sell good chicken. Not every place has an Amanda. If you're new here and you see her at the register, you're in good hands. SECOND REVIEW FOR THIS LOCATION! My boys and I came today for lunch. We went through the drive-through... The lady that took our order and helped us at the window was Katelyn. She was so sweet and helpful. Unfortunately there was an incident in the restaurant at this time. My children and I could hear from OUTSIDE IN OUR CAR four women becoming very upset and verbally abusing Katelyn due to them not serving alcohol on a Monday at 12:30.... They were loud, raising their voices at her and cursing. I was so beyond impressed with how well this young lady handled such behavior. She remained calm, even apologized and attempted to de-escalate the situation. Kudos to Katelyn for being so patient and professional while being treated so poorly. Between our interactions today with Katelyn and awhile back with Sarah, you guys have some of the most upstanding employees I've ever met! This place is the real deal. So many levels of spicy. I went with the medium level. Got a #3 with an extra slider and a 3 piece mozzarella sticks. Everything was delicious. Okay, I've been delaying my review of this place, because I honestly thought my first experience was a one off. The first time I went to Dave's Hot Chicken (conveniently located across the street from Chick Fil A) It was soooo good, I thought it was a freak. So, I decided to wait until I had another experience or two. I've been thrice more times, and I have to say this place has risen to the top of my fast food chain. The staff is always friendly. I mean I think they sincerely are happy to see me. But the chicken, oh the chicken, is super moist and delicious. I like spicy, my wife not so much. She LOVES the extra mild. I am a fan of medium spicy, although it is exceptionally hot and spicy, fyi. They are open until 3am, so I'm thinking stoners must love this. The restaurant is simple and clean. There was a fishy smell in there and one of the stalls had zero toilet paper. It was like 4pm in the afternoon; they should be checking the restrooms regularly. Service was a 10/10! We came here for the first time because my child saw a video on youtube as an eating challenge for spicy food. In the video someone eats Hot Bites. We drove by and he recognized the restaurant from the video. My child was curious to see how spicy the hot bites are. We dined in and ordered the Top loaded Spicy Buffalo Mac and cheese with fries (medium spicy). I don't have a high tolerance for very spicy food, but the medium was good. Definitely spicy but not too spicy, it has a good enough kick that keeps the food from being boring but not so spicy that I am too uncomfortable to eat it. The spicy Bbq bites have more of a kick than the medium Buffalo bites. I feel they were definitely spicier but still delicious. My child had the 10 pc Daves hot bites (medium spicy) with fries. Strawberry Lemonade slushy is delicious. The air conditioning is on high and when eating spicy food it feels really good. It was a nice surprise that they also sell beer here. This place is great. I've been here a few times now and the chicken is consistently moist. Their spicy level it actually spicy. I've only ordered to go, there are I have not even eaten it piping hot, and it was still very good. I always like to add more honey. Zeke suggested we try the honey with the Dave's sauce and it was amazing. Mix those to add to the sandwich and dip your fries. The photos of the chicken look like heavy thick breading, but that's not the case. It's perfect! Breading is thin and dusted lightly with the seasoning. We got our sandwiches light mild heat. I love that this location has a drive through! I came on free slider day as well as the day after since I was within walking distance. Free slider day was so well prepared for at this location and the staff was noticeably going above and beyond to give great service, I believe the woman who took my order was Amanda and she was super sweet. The day after was noticeably different but not bad. I was left standing at the counter for a few minutes before anyone even realized I was there but the worker was very nice and apologetic about it. I got the slider and top loaded fries and as always the food is on point! I hadn't had the top loaded fries before and they are packed with toppings and it's really tasty with a bit of extra Dave sauce on top read more
