The large sides- mashed potatoes, pinto beans and coleslaw. Tortillas.
    Julie M.

This El Pollo Loco just opened up recently, replacing one nearby. It's close to a large retail food and shopping center so good amount of parking. We have had hit and miss experiences at various locations in the past but were anxious to try since it is in our neighborhood. It did not disappoint! Husband and I ordered the 12 piece chicken family meal because we like leftovers and decided to dine in. Server was manning the ordering-kiosk and helped us place the order quickly.. Out three large sides were Cole Slaw, mashed potatoes with gravy and pinto beans. Wish they still offered the black beans but there is a decent variety of side options. We tried each of the three salsas ranging from mild to fire. Avocado one was perfect flavor and heat, to me. Our order came with quite a few little tortillas. About a ten minute wait; the place was getting busier as we waited. It was about 5 pm. Drive thru also had customers. We picked up at the counter. Chicken looked good and for the first time ever there was steam rising from the bucket as we opened it. Potatoes were also hot. We had to go back up to the counter to ask for the gravy but everything else was smooth and problem free. The tortillas were so soft and fresh, the sides were pretty fair. Potatoes tastes like real potatoes. We had a coupon from a flyer sent to our house, but if you join the free rewards program they have even more personalized deals on their app. If they continue to food and service like this we will be back.

We didn't know what to order, so the girl at the counter made some recommendations, some of which we ultimately went with, and were pretty happy about. They even accommodated my indecision between two waffles, by making me a customized half/half waffle of my two choices! AMAZING!! (See pictures!) I forgot to take a picture, but I also had their Regular Coffee, and it was goooood! Strong! I liked it!! ... ALSO, after our meals, we decided to try a Frozen Custard Sundae. We went with Strawberry, and it was YUMMOOOO!! (See pictures and video!) The place has a small indoor area and a bigger patio area, which is where we sat. The place was clean and well stocked (utensils, napkins, cups, drinks area, bathroom, etc). They even have boardgames/UNO for customers to enjoy, but we were so into the food that we didn't need the entertainment. LOL In conclusion: TRY BRUXIE!! ... Do it!!

I guess I should've realized but the s'mores was basically dessert. It was good and I liked the crispiness of the waffle, but just very sweet for the morning. It came with a side of syrup which I don't use. The chicken was really good- crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and well seasoned. It was clean, there was lots of seating and the employees were very nice.

She ordered the fried Hainan chicken rice, while I went with the fried Hainan chicken rice noodles. My dish also came with a couple of wontons, ground pork, and half an egg, which was a nice bonus. On a recent Wednesday lunch visit, we noticed most people were ordering takeout and we were actually the only ones dining in. Like the other location, you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. It's a very casual spot, and you can even request a bowl of chicken broth on the side. The food came out quickly, and everything was delicious. I ordered a Zebb Chicken rice to-go and it was still good for dinner!

So this is why 1 star was removed, and also because the chicken meat was on the dry side vs being juicy. - The chicken rice were both big generous portions and was more than enough for a regular serving. - Both drinks were right on with less sugar.

They have a walk up table and someone standing there to take the order..he was friendly -took our order and in told him we were going to the restroom and we would be right back. We came back and jahie was ready with our or order. Yay! It was a hot and sunny day and we wanted a shade table. (They only had two options. We asked if she could wipe down one of the dirty tables and she suggested another table but was next to a large party of teens. ( too much for my 82 year old mom who can't see or walk all that well) Jahie suggested the back/side of the restaurant and it felt more like a break room with a couple employees eating along with other employees cleaning out these large stacked containers and all of them chatting amongst each other. Reeeeally disappointed in her lack of care or consideration. One odd thing...the silverware didn't have a knife included...just a fork..so I ended up eating with my hands. Though all of the napkins and containers are very nice for being disposable. I got the 1/4 chicken with 2 sides..a salad (really fresh greens and a nice house dressing..and a side of potatoes-they were really tasty. The chicken was basic...but the dipping sauce is an oil with herbs..that was really good. My mom enjoyed her teriyaki chicken bowl...all the ingredients are really fresh and delicious. Hopefully it was an off day...had to deduct points for the complete lack of customer service. This was after we already tipped :(

We probably could have split one and been perfectly happy, which says a lot. And their fries that come alongside are a meal unto themselves, the kind of portion that could realistically feed a small crowd. The sandwiches are a bit of a commitment in the best way, which is to say they are rich and filling and you will absolutely need a nap afterwards. For a quick celebratory bite though, it really did the job. Will definitely be back.

***UPDATE FOLLOWING DIANA M'S *EDITED* RESPONSE***…read more After deleting her prior response to this review, she is now just focusing on the complaint about the online service fee. I never suggested that it was a "hidden fee", I just pointed out that it is a very high fee for ordering online. As pointed out before, ordering online directly from a restaurant does not usually incur a fee, let alone a $6 fee. If Diana feels that ordering online is so onerous, then maybe she should deactivate that feature and encourage her customers to phone in their orders. Diana should also consider not badgering customers that did not have a good experience with her restaurant and consider taking some classes in Customer Service 101. It's not a good way to run a business and the fastest way to lose customers. ***UPDATE FOLLOWING DIANA M's RESPONSE*** It's unfortunate that the owner responded with excuses and condescension. A simple "Hey, sorry for the mishap, we will make sure it won't happen again" would have sufficed. At least that way, she likely would have had a returning customer since the food is good. But now, no way Jose. And the $5.00 online service fee is egregious. I order quite a bit online and always try to order directly through the restaurants website to avoid fees. I don't know if any other restaurants that charge fees to order online unless there is a delivery involved. --------------------------- Well, not sure what to say. We put in an online order last night, which went through with a $4.95 service fee. (We ordered through their direct site rather than a third party sight to save on fees) If that wasn't bad enough, I showed up at the designated pick up time, and the place was closed. WTF? About an hour later, we were refunded our money, but why is the website taking orders and collecting payments when you're not even open? Talk about inconvenience. And clearly their posted operating hours are inconsistent.

Each order had crispy skin and came with a side of sauce that was sweet and slightly sour. My favorite was definitely the Cebuchon. Such tender, savory meat! After driving +40 minutes, the skin still had a nice exterior. I do like how minimal their menu is - you can tell they are pork-oriented.
