I just have to write a review for this chick fil a. I went on a Saturday night at 6:30 and the drive through line was sooo long, so I went inside and it was just as busy! People ordering, eating, picking up mobile orders. I watched in amazement as all the employees moved around so fast with purpose. I counted 14 employees that I could see up front and everyone seemed to know exactly what to do. It seemed like such a well oiled machine and just I watched in awe while waiting for my food. I saw a manager note that the iced tea was empty and immediately someone started to address it like they knew it was their job to fix it. Super cool to see and no one seemed stressed or frustrated, just going with the flow and still super kind. And I got my food super quick. read more

The breakfast sandwich chicken egg and cheese on a biscuit is so good at this location! And the chicken is actually crispy and seasoned compared to other locations I have been to. The food was on point here, but it was lacking the smiling and friendly service I am used to at other locations. It feels wrong to love Chick-Fil-A. I'm not talking about the moral code / political opinion of the company, but the fact the chicken remains stupidly addictive while also being stupidly unhealthy. My only CFA experiences have been from down south - all great - but the city of brotherly love did not disappoint. It was a complete meal: waffle fries, a hearty yet sugary milkshake, and a juicy, tender chicken biscuit to top it off. A friend was rockin nuggets and some sweet tea, which were definitely tasty in their own right. And we were able to scarf it all down after failing to score some John's Roast Pork (http://www.yelp.com/biz/johns-roast-pork-philadelphia) due to their strict afternoon hours. But in the end, the service, cleanliness of the interior (and bathrooms!) all score big points in fast food land. I don't even know where to begin! On first entering we were greeted with smiles, pretty common for a Chick-fil-A, so we didn't feel anything out of the ordinary. After sitting down and observing the atmosphere we began to feel like we were in a video game, with NPC's all around. As we were casually drinking our delicious, creamy milkshakes (with whipped cream and a cherry on top, of course) we noticed one of the employees cleaning the windows, over and over. She would clean the windows, but only in her eye view. She then miraculously disappeared. It's at this moment, I turned to my friend, we shared a telepathic moment, and knew we had to observe further. One of the female workers came over to us to ask if everything was okay with our order and if we needed anything else. Her comments had completely transcended me into another world, a world where we were at 5 star Michelin restaurant and I sh*t you not, I forgot I was in Chick-fil-A. If this wasn't a shock enough.... there is more to come. It seemed as if though all the employees were non playable characters, in a video game (NPC's). The best way to describe an NPC, for one who's unaware, is they are very predictable, completing the same task on rotate. This is exactly what 20% of the workers were doing, out of the 17 workers (that we saw). They would go around the floor, in the same direction each time, smiling, and asking how everyone's food was. At one point we even observed an employee refilling a customers drink, and taking it to their table. They had no issue with waiting for customers to pick a table they wanted to be seated at, and then placing their food down. Maybe I'm used to lower class fast food restaurants where they slam your tray of food down and walk off, with no care. On top of all this, the restaurant was immaculate. With help from the lady cleaning the windows, of course. The employees were truly on the ball with cleaning up after people and wiping down the tables and chairs. They even brought a disheveled looking broom out at one point, to clean up a few crumbs on the ground. This experience, I believe, was one of those situations you could only truly understand by being in the moment. The funniest Chick-fil-A experience I've ever encountered. Might I add I've been in A LOT of Chick-fil-A's. The workers were swifffffttttt with everything and truly seemed like they enjoyed their jobs. 10/10 :D read more

The Mac and cheese I had in Georgia was like someone's Auntie or my mom had possibly stopped by and gifted them with a few gems, NOT ALL. Another great Cfa in philly.... Was at Ikea. Choose to stop for lunch... Was packed with lines almost at the door. But moved fast... Got my food pretty quickly. The girl, Daytona, took our order at the register...looked she did not want to be at work or take our order. Very straight faced. She was also didn't speak much. After the renovations, this particular Chick-fil-A looks marginally better, but is too open. Now you can see everyone from everywhere across the room rather than have your own private spot with a partition. The food seemed the same at first, but last night I had a violent stomach reaction to the food I ate, which was the spicy chicken strips meal. The drive-thru line is always SUPER long no matter what day or time of day. The time that I went, I walked in the store to order inside instead, and they were only allowing mobile app orders, but no one was allowed to walk in and order there. Despite this, the drive thru line was still super slow and took almost 40 minutes to get to the window. I haven't been to a chick-fil-a in years after there controversy against the gay community. This particular restaurant happens to be the closest of my niece favorite place. Going inside was probably the first mistake because the first thing that catches my eye is everyone behind the counter, kitchen and floor had long hair. I only seen two workers wearing any type of head gear and one was a male. I was flabbergasted that I was even seeing this but she wanted something from this place. I joked to her don't be upset if you find hair in your food. I just got a salad because you can't mess up a salad right? Boy was I so ever wrong! This was just bad karma at me because I told my wife this place looks like a hair fashion show or contest for the longest hair. How can you even give this place any stars. The chicken is always fresh, crispy, and juicy at Penrose Ave. The fries are always crispy there too. Update! This location did reach out to me and ended up providing me a free meal. The difference was extremely noticeable and pleasant! As you can see from the picture, the sandwich is much larger as what I've always been used to in the past. The service and speed was still great as well. I never had a bad experience here with the staff or food. There are plenty of cops and customs agents as well as other law enforcement people who frequent this place. I generally roll through the drive through, which normally looks like a horrendous line, but the staff here really moves. I normally only wait a few minutes, ten at the most. They are the quickest, most efficient, moderately healthy place to eat around in South Philly. Sure it is a chain, but this is the only fast food chain I ever go to. I have not eaten at any other fast food chain in well over a decade. Why bother, Chic Fil A has everything they do down to a science. When you see a manger out on the floor talking to patrons and wiping down tables you know this is a solid place to work. So I have to give them a five as every possible criteria I would rate a business on they completely fulfill. They are clean, they are pleasant, they offer a consistently great tasting product, they are efficient, they value my business and provide a safe and worry free environment in which to dine. read more

I highly recommend their deluxe original or spicy Chick-fil-A sandwich over the plain since it adds a more full flavor, chicken tenders over the bites since has a little more meat for similar price, crispy delicious waffle fries, and a nice cold cup of Philly water. Don't forget to ask for any dipping sauces such as Chick-fil-A and Polynesian sauce since they don't always ask you. Recently tried their honey roasted bbq sauce which tastes like a spin off version of the Chick Fil A sauce but has smoky flavor infused, recommend to give it a try! Drive through line was forever long like always because they're food is delicious, however this location allows you to walk in which was awesome because service was so fast that I was walking out food in hand by the time the car that was in front of me at the drive through was just 2 away from ordering. At the end of my order it seemed like My cashier "Emily" Had a slight attitude I ordered a spicy chicken Sandwich with pepper jack cheese and my order came up to $8 and some change I told her that I had a coupon for the sandwich (minus the cheese added in the sandwich) and the coupon didn't scan correctly and she said that the coupon scanned correctly and told me that I told her that I wanted a spicy chicken-deluxe-sandwich and that the coupon did scan. I said "no I only wanted a spicy chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese and a small strawberry milkshake" and I had a coupon for the sandwich and that it still shouldn't be $8 and some change. She said "well what kind of sandwich is the coupon for?" ..I said "it's for a regular or spicy chicken sandwich"..she then asked a manager for the card and he scanned his card and took off the milkshake instead of sandwich..after that was corrected to him taking off the sandwich instead of the milkshake she seemed a little flustered...and didn't offer me a sauce for my chicken sandwich. The sandwich was served fast tho' and the person who served me my sandwich was polite and did get me the sauce that I wanted. I was disappointed that my spicy chicken sandwich did not have any pickles on it as I was anticipating and my milkshake did not have a cherry on top. This is considered FAST FOOD?? Chick-Fil-A is definitely one of the rare fast food chains that is trying to break away from the fast food joint mantra. Reason being, is the service which for fast food is above average, surprisingly clean, and lets face it the Spicy Chicken Sandwich they are KNOWN for is damn tasty. I order the #4 Spicy Chicken Sandwich combo with a small chicken noodle soup, along with a Cookies & Cream milkshake (SO GOOD). My order was taken, and the food came out very quick. The cashier who took my order also brought my meal to my table, and was very courteous in doing so. I did not see this coming, overall the sandwich was the best part and the meal was pretty filling. This chick-fil-a knocked customer service out of the park!!! They were pretty busy but the staff seemed to be working overtime to ensure food came out in a nice fashion. I also tried the cookies and cream milkshake which was $3.50. I like to think of myself as a milkshake connoisseur and these milkshakes were phenomenal. They exceeded in the areas of flavor, amount, and cost. Most milkshakes in Philly are around $5 small and seem to disappear in 30 seconds. I've only been to one other location, so hard to compare them. I had a good experience the couple of times I'm come here. Chicken if flavorful, juicy ( not dry) and tastes fresh. I was surprised to see that they come around and refill your drink if needed, kudos! Chicken nuggets and their spicy chicken are my favorites. Only reason for a non-5 star was because one " bad apple" employee wasn't as friendly as all the other co-workers. Being a little nit-picky.. but Chick-Fil-A prides itself in having great customer service and for example always saying " my pleasure" when you thank them etc. She would say " sure" or " mm-hmmm" and walk away.
