We've been here more than a few times. We love this place! I always get their chicken juk, which is basically chicken congee. It's not very salty, which is what I like and it's a good serving size (sometime too big so my husband finishes it for me). It comes with salt and pepper for more seasoning, and a few side dishes. My husband usually gets their fried chicken and he's tried all their flavors, now he ventures on to other dishes. Always a great experience! The servers are very attentive and they come by all the time to check on you, refill waters, and offer you more of their banchans. I love their cucumber side dish and their kimchi. I always get refills on those. They are a little on the pricier side, but totally worth it. Overall, definitely recommend! It's best to come early to find parking since it does tend to be super busy. I don't know if I came here and I got the last chicken or what, but this place didn't remind me of chicken in korea at all. The spices were unique enough so I knew they existed. The crunch factor was nothing like what I had in Seoul and the layered seasoning is missing! The chicken was tender, so points for that. Really nice change from the traditional burger and fries. Although, they do actually sell fries! The food is fresh quite literally steaming hot, so be careful! TVs are everywhere so it's a great place for the kiddos too. I'm only giving them 4 stars because they did forget about me. It was a super busy night though and the food made up for it! This restaurant was formally Mad For Chicken which was a must visit restaurant for me when I'm in Dallas, so I was very sad when I found out that it had closed. I decided to give Chicken Barn a try and I was very pleased. The restaurant is very rustic with K pop playing on the screens. There is a drink machine at the front with complimentary coffee, hot chocolate and a Korean grain drink which was a very nice treat. The waitress was very friendly and we were promptly seated. I like how the menu is very diverse and you are able to order a wide variety of Korean food. The French fries came piping hot and were perfectly crispy and seasoned well. The chicken was spectacular and was very comparable to the delicious chicken from Mad for Chicken. The batter is very crispy and light, and the chicken was most likely brined and super flavorful. The tofu stew was flavorful but nothing super special. My diagnosis: come here for outstanding Korean style chicken wings. read more

Wow this place is so good! Some of the best fried chicken I've had around. I got a mix of spicy garlic soy and garlic soy and it's great. The spice level was just nice, not outrageous but also good enough to taste it. The soondobu was pretty good too I absolutely love the beef cut they used. It tastes very tender and is a better cut than typical places use. Overall great service and amazing food I can't wait to go back and try more things! read more

Have had the galbitang (short rib soup), sam gye tang (ginseng chicken), and sundubu (tofu soup). They were all really tasty especially on a cold day. The chicken was a little dry but was interesting how it was stuffed with rice. The banchan is really good! The potato salad is addicting and everything tastes really fresh. Have only had the samgyetang here and would come for it again! They give a huge variety of side disbes which I always enjoy. I know a lot of people come here for the fried chicken so maybe that's a good option too. I was really excited to have a new korean spot open in Frisco. I really liked it at first but it's been quite inconsistent. The dakk bokkeum tang or the Korean spicy chicken stew is pretty good, but not spicy at all. The hot soy garlic fried chicken has really good flavor, however it's definitely not as crispy as other Korean fried chicken places. Also, I don't know why they don't fully cover the wings with the sauce. Some other items I've tried but I don't have pictures of is the tteokkbokgi (spicy rice cakes) and the kkhanpunggi. The tteokkbokgi was 8/10, good flavor and lots of veggies, but I wish it was actually spicy. The kkhanpunngi is 1/10, I'm sorry but that's probably the worst kkhanpunngi I've ever had. They should just take it off the menu. No one at the table could even finish a bite of it. Not bad if you're craving korean food and don't want to make the drive to carrolton but there's definitely room for improvement. read more

I can't even say enough good things about this place. The wings were INSANE, we got buffalo and soy garlic and we were so wow'ed. The pork bulgogi was delicious, this was my brother's first time eating it and he absolutely loved it. I will say our bill was a little high but well worth the money! There is all kinds of seating from booths to table and chairs. The service is decent they are friendly and try their best to be accommodating. Chicken Soup: The soup was really good. It was flavorful and a pretty clean broth. You add your own salt and it is really tasty with the chicken thats boiled into the soup. There is no strong taste so it kinda reminds me of a tame version of chicken soup. She opened the menu and explained everything, and made suggestions. I told her I was in search of japche and she showed me everything that included it. She even blessed me on my way home and called me by name on my way out! The set up of the restaurant is themed to the name "barn" style inside. Music not too loud but up beat, TV's around the restaurant with, sports, K-pop, and food prep. Very clean along with smelling delightful of what would be coming your way. I had fried dumplings (delicious) and Bulgogi Japche Bop.... Very tasty and on point. If you have never had, don't pass up give it a try you won't be disappointed. Just came back from Korea so this was a welcome repeat of some of my food experiences there. The fried chicken was very good - nice fry, big pieces, and not overly sauced. We enjoyed the garlic soy. We also tried the bulgogi and equally it had great flavor. They will give you seconds and thirds on the accompaniments, which include some kimchi, broccoli, potato salad, and fish cakes.
