    Kids Bowl

Usually love eating here this place but I just ordered a kid's bowl and chose white rice as my base. I had already eaten through most of it and realized there wasn't any rice and it was ALL japchae. I love japchae but the base is literally supposed to be rice lol. For $18.42?! Pretty disappointed lol.

I ordered the hot stone bowl with tofu as my protein w/kimchi base. I loved it and would give it a 9/10. My favorite part of it was how hot the rice was. It could be spicier. I would definitely recommend and would come again

We decided to stop in for a quick lunch. This location is easy to find, but parking is a bit limited. I always order spicy so naturally, I ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice, Spicy Bulgogi, all the toppings, kimchi mandu and an over easy egg. I ordered my rice in a stone bowl. It provides a more authentic experience and it keeps the rice at the temperature of a thousand suns for a long time. Definitely worth the second degree burn in your mouth! If you're feeling saucy, they have all their sauces (Gochujang, soy sauce, sesame, etc) on a counter and you can get as much as you want. Before eating make sure you mix your bowl thoroughly to blend all the flavors and take big bites so you get a little bit of everything in each mouthful. This was my first time here, but I will definitely be back for more!

Wow, Burning Rice gives its customers a big surprise in welcoming 2024! Burning rice has always been my #1 choice for a healthy quick meal that I get to customize, and enjoy the authentic taste of Korean bibimbap. I walked in today and felt weird to see menu is simplified at the self order counter, you can only choose white rice, brown rice or noodles now, and egg comes in scrambled only, a lot of meat selections are removed, and no sauce choices. I thought, fine, they are making menu changes to make some profit and keep the same price for customers. As long as the taste doesn't change, I can still be a fan. That's not the case, I ordered white rice hot stone bowl with grilled chicken, order came, rice is a differ t kind of rice, chicken is like white boiled chicken breast, carrots and zucchini even cut differently. It's obvious Burning Rice has changed its food preparation and ingredients sources, the taste and quality is a dramatic change in downward. Honestly, this bowl is ok taste, but it's no where near what Burning Rice had to offer before, it's like those packaged chicken fried rice you can buy from Costco. Managements, do you not taste your food before committing to a change? I am convinced you will see more similar reviews through out 2024 across all burning rice locations, happy new year!

This is my go to place if I am craving bibimbap! Burning Rice never disappoints. I've been going here for over 2 years now and time the quality has always been consistent. The service is always on point. The atmosphere is pretty casual so no need to get dressed up and fancy . I got the hot stone bowl with kimchi rice, spicy bulgogi, all of the toppings (bean sprouts, carrots, noodles, broccoli, fish cake, kimchi, zucchini), and sunny side up egg. It was delish! My favorite part is letting the hot stone crispen the rice at the bottom of the bowl and scraping off the crunchy bits at the end! They also have a few sauces you can choose from to put on top. Try the gochujang sauce! It's a must if you like spicy Give Burning Rice a shot you won't regret it!

It took my family and I a year to finally dine at burning rice, but I'm so glad we did! It's so easy to order at one of their kiosks and choose from all of the different options. Service is fast and you can go pick up different kinds of sauces for your bowl. You really can't go wrong with anything you order! I'd recommended getting everything on your bowl unless you have specific dietary restrictions. A 10/10 value for money and food!

Build Your Bowl in a Stone bowl with well done egg

I came here with a friend for lunch right at 11:00 when they opened and the cashier was really friendly and helped explained their menu. I got the veggie fried rice with all toppings and a well done egg in a Stone bowl. Personally I thought the portion size was very generous. The Stone bowl is nice but I do not think it is worth the extra money as your food will still be warm in the regular bowl that looks just as nice. However if you love burning your tongue, this option is great for you. I think the customizable dish is very nice feature and although the bibimbap was very tasty, it was nothing spectacular.

You have to make order here.

Food is still good. We haven't been to this location for years eating at the one in Plano. This place can get very busy Sunday lunch at least in year's past. We have eaten at Plano location several times in recent years. I knocked them down one star as one has to make order at kiosk instead of with staff. And they have eliminated all the salad and soup that was previously on menu. See photo.

I personally am not a huge fan of bimbimbap as I am not a huge fan of piping hot dishes. However, this was much better than I expected. Atmosphere - 4/5 - Nothing special here. You go in line and order. They bring to you when it is ready. Staff - 4/5 - Friendly. Food - What I ordered: - Kimchi Rice Bowl - 4/5 - I did not pay for the stone bowl (couple $$ more) as again, I do not like my food extra temperature hot. I did pay for the LA Galbi option ($3 more) as that is my favorite Korean meat. They have several toppings (fish cake, bean sprouts, etc....) so of course I added them all. You also get an egg (I did sunny side up). Most of the time, you add gochujang (spicy Korean paste) to it and mix it all up. I personally did enjoy this bowl much better than I thought. If you do go, I recommend the Galbi option. What is nice about the food is that there is a self serve bar for salad and soup (along with condiments). That alone does make a great value. Overall, I do recommend this place if you are just craving bimbimbap, or wanting to try for the first time.

When is the salad and soup bar going to be open again?

Does anyone know if this location is halal?

    No its not halal

Do they still give you free soup and salad for takeout? We always only eat at the restaurant and never had takeout before.

Their salad bar and soup bar are closed unfortunately.

My woman and I got there right on time, we stood up at the counter for 6 minutes before someone got to us. And no, it wasn't busy or packed. Let's talk price. We paid for the premium menu, an additional $20 per person for the luxury meat. Total bill came out at $120 for us both, no tip. Those "premium meats" were only allowed 1 serving at a time. Our server was decent. Took his time coming back to us, so despite us being there 90 minutes, we only tried 3/4 premium meats. They give you GIANT short ribs. I'm talking a whole 2 foot piece of meat. They had scissors. At the table. No steak knife. No forks. Chopsticks and full meat scissors. We couldn't even cut it without using our hands. The meat all around was seasoned, okay. HEAVY sauce. Pineapple steak was rubber, the Bulgogi was insanely too sweet, dripping in marinade. The beef belly was outstanding though. The rice? Overcooked. Rubber. No seasoning. Comes in a bowl and you pour it on a flat glass tray. It spills. Everywhere. And then let's talk about the grill at the table. Any other place? It gets replaced instantly once they see it's dirty. Here? Nah. They give you an ice cube and tell YOU TO CLEAN IT YOURSELF. My girlfriend nearly burned herself. It's a gas grille, and you want your PAYING customers to CLEAN it ourselves...? While we eat? Awful experience. For $60 a person I would expect much better food, much easier and convenient service. The servers were kind and hustling nonstop. That said, it looked like they were a bit understaffed for a Saturday lunch rush -- only two employees were handling seating, orders, drinks, and checkout for the whole restaurant. Still, they did their best, and it showed. I tipped generously - well deserved. Ambiance: Clean, nicely decorated, and a fair size space. My party of five was seated quickly with no issues. Food: Unfortunately, this is where things fell flat. The jja jang myun noodles texture and chew were great, but the sauce was underwhelming and lacked depth. The jjampong portion was huge (great value!), but it too was on the bland side -- missing that rich, spicy seafood flavor I was hoping for. The sweet and sour fried pork was just okay, nothing memorable. Overall, Dong Bo Sung is fine if you're nearby and craving this type of cuisine -- you'll definitely leave full -- but for me, it didn't quite hit the mark. I'm a bit spoiled by Paik's Noodle, so this one lands at a solid 3 out of 5.
