I visited Chicken Factory not only because I had a craving for spaghetti, which I discovered on their menu, but moreover because Upside, a cash back application offered a 6% cash back offer on purchases. With that and because of it being so close to me at the time it was hard to pass up. Chicken Factory itself sits along a highly driven on Roosevelt Rd, right across from Edward Hines, Jr. Veteran Affairs Hospital. And the parking lot itself is shared with a few other businesses, like Cricket, and a Beggars Pizza location. During this visit, it made my evening as a wrestling fan to walk inside to World Wrestling Entertainment Smackdown being shown on their television in the dining area. I have to admit, it surely had a positive influence on the rating I intended on leaving for Chicken Factory, plus it led to interactions with the employees. I was given plenty of time to search the menu for alternatives, outside of spaghetti! I had every intention of ordering two sides of it until it was mentioned that it was made with meat sauce rather than marinara. Aye yi yi! It was then I took another look at the menu and the display, and ended up ordering a mac and cheese along with a small order of fries. After mentioning that I was a vegetarian, the employee mentioned that it is funny that I visited a place solely known for chicken. I responded with "I did my research beforehand! And most places (those known particularly for meat), I tend to go for the sides". I honestly felt that I anticipated my wait time to be shorter being that I ordered just fries, and a mac and cheese. Thanks to WWE Smackdown being on the television, it made the wait feel less excruciating. As for the food, the mac and cheese was satisfying; and the fries were fresh, yet average! However, I was given a satisfying portion being the fact that it was a small order of fries. Honestly, I could have gotten a much satisfying combination like mac and cheese, and fries elsewhere and cheaper! I could very well re-visit and order from Chicken Factory again, but it would likely be for either of the desserts that caught my eye in the display (taffy grapes, cheesecake, homemade cakes, etc.) ,tehehe. I ordered a two-piece breast chicken dinner that comes with French fries, bread and coleslaw. It was awesome! The chicken was cooked well, juicy on the inside, crunchy on the outside (NOT burnt); The fries were crunchy, and the coleslaw was very tasty. While they do offer five different toppings, I just liked mine plain. There are several other places in the area that I've tried for fried chicken in the past, but this was by far the best I've had in a very long time. I called up my order today and told them that I had a groupon for a sandwich and a drink. I asked if I could get the double cheeseburger. She said no burgers. Then I asked if I could get the poor boy steak and she said no so I decided to get the poor boy chicken. When I got there, the lady there told me that I owed over $2 in change. I walked in and the cashier didn't get up to greet at all and stood sitting on the chair on her phone. I told her my pick up and the name and she told me 2 minutes I said ok and she looked at me and said I said 2 minutes. I guess because I was at the counter she felt the need to repeat herself rudely. I waited 15 minutes not 2 for the order to be ready. Her customer service definitely could have been better. I'm very disappointed in the way she spoke to me. Overall this place is not bad at all. Firstly, customer service was phenomenal. Even placing my order over the phone was easy. The girl who answered was friendly and inviting. When I arrived, I guess she wasn't aware of me placing the order, but she quickly figured it out and bagged my food. I had a coupon for the 6 piece chicken wing with fries. Chicken Factory has pretty decent chicken and fish but nothing admirable. We've eaten here a few times, and each time the chicken has been pretty good but the fish has been just okay. I found that their sides didn't match up to the taste of the chicken and everytime I want my fish extra crispy it's never crispy lol. Overall this is a nice place to pick up a meal when you're in a rush, in the area or have a smaller amount of money to spend but my family and I all agreed this would not be our first option. First the good news. The chicken wings were delicious. Juicy & far meatier than they appeared. The sauce was a tad hotter than I liked & there was a bit too much. They placed a slice of white bread underneath the wings to soak up the extra sauce. They reminded me of food we ordered for lunch from West Side rib restaurants when I was still working years ago. They failed to send the chicken dinner which my partner ordered (but charged for it) & the perch, which he also ordered, (he always orders for the next days lunch as well as dinner) was very, very small (& VERY disappointing). Also the delivery person had trouble finding our house even when he was standing right in front of it. He had called twice for directions. Our house is not particularly difficult to find & we have our address displayed on the front -facing the street. He may well have been responsible for the missing chicken dinner.
