Chicken G's is kinda weird. They don't have a menu online so I called the phone number and someone described the menu to me. He was in Northern California and had to call my order into Bakersfield. When I got there at the time I was told to, the lady vaguely knew about my order but didn't start it yet. It's not hot chicken. They don't do a rub on the chicken so if you want it spicy they just put hot sauce on it. The flavor is barely passable. It just doesn't have a Dave's flavor if you know and you're looking for that. I'm not sure why it gets 4 1/2 stars. I guess people in Bakersfield just don't know fried chicken sandwiches! read more

An AMAZING spot and the best fried chicken i had in America most likely! I got the Bad Boy and the chicken was super crispy and flavorful. My wife got the tenders meal and it also looked super scrumptious. I literally stopped here on the way to SF and it was the best pit stop ever, everything is halal, and what's even cooler, they have a prayer area! The bathrooms are clean and the service is great. Had the Friends Meal and shared it among 3 people. Felt like it was very reasonable serving. I'd say come in hungry! Chicken was tender but the sauce I think, didn't add too much to the meal. Found the chicken a bit greasy, too. Loved the sides though. The Friends Meal is a great choice to taste all their sides. First off Wow!! What a huge chicken sandwich! Nowadays every food spot is trying to figure out how to skimp you on your food order! These guys went the opposite way! My sandwich was huge, xtra large bun and the chicken was hanging out past the bread! Flavor was awesome! Not your typical hit chicken joint, it's a very clean and breaded chicken sandwich with lots of flavor sauce and I got sliced Serrano peppers and put them on at will!! I didn't get a side this time but the Mac n cheese looked amazing! The sandwich is a lot expensive but the size and quality definitely made up for it! Sandwich alone was over $9 but don't let that scare u off you can get a side and have a meal for 2! Had a very disappointing experience which is unfortunate because the 2 previous times had been great. Look at the watered mac and cheese they gave me. It looked like soup and very unappetizing, I had to throw it away. The toast was bland and the fried chicken pieces were just breading with little meat. The "g-sauce" cup was half filled. The canned soda was also flat which just added insult to injury. The chicken sandwiches I've gotten before are good but not worth the risk of getting something as bad as that mac and cheese. Makes you question the quality of everything. $15 for 2 pieces of chicken, might as well go to Cane's or Popeyes. read more

Absolutely freakin delicious! Probably the best chicken sandwich I've had in town. I stopped by the other day to try it out even though I was still pouting about Baba's closing but man was this a great change. The staff was super friendly when I came in and took my order, they let me know it would be 10-12 minutes as everything is cooked to order, no problem with me I'm all for fresh. The sandwich is huge! It's a giant chicken sandwich, more than enough to fill you up. The seasoning on the chicken is delicious, it has a little bit of heat to it which I loved. The mac and cheese was also really good, the cheese sauce is homemade and it's delicious. I devoured the whole meal and was wanting another, this is my new go-to chicken sandwich spot, highly recommend giving it a try. read more

Visiting from LA- my Bakersfield nephew brought me. OMG the breading and crispiness on the chicken is so good. They gave us 2 dipping sauces and I also asked for a hot sauce which was good. From the beginning of us parking to walking in to order the cashier had a funny look on his face .We go to order & by it being our first time , naturally we have questions. He had attitude the entire time ... I ordered two meals and a 5 piece which totaled $50 ! So im expecting some next level mind blowing experience despite the very rude employee. Sandwich was MID ASF , fries were undercooked and salty ASF . The lemonade was the highlight of the night & even then I had to ignore the fact the employee ate directly over my cup while he was waiting for mines to come out . The Prayer area was nice and kept clean. my wife hasn't been talking to me much so praying for help there if anyone knows a good marriage counselor. SO happy to have another Zabiha Halal food place in town!!!! I LOVE their Mac & cheese and the chicken sandwiches are HUGE! Get ready to dislocate your jaw to enjoy that bad boy! The chicken piece is really huge and crispy. The batter is very light, but super crunchy and delicious. I didn't care for the lemonade. It was too bitter/sour and too sweet for my taste. My son loved his chicken tender kids meal. I really love that they have a prayer area for us Muslims in there that's so awesome!!! I was passing through Bakersfield on a trip and stopped here. The chicken was great! Crust was flaky and crunchy, and the seasoning was just right. Had a little spice but not overwhelming. The dipping sauces were good and complimented the chicken, but pretty simple. The people working there were very polite and nice. We stopped in on our way through town for some crispy fried chicken which we admittedly never eat. We were just in the mood. So we were greeted right when we walked in. It's their grand opening, the cashier's first day. Both employees were very friendly and efficient. We ordered a combo 1 which is a drum and a thigh with a side, the naughty chick which has a chili next to it indicating that it's spicy, and the big g. Everything came with a side so we got one of each: Mac and cheese, fries and coleslaw. My sandwich was the big g and it was SO spicy and I'm a HUGE wuss with spicy hot foods - they make me feel like I'm going to be sick. When we realized my order, which did not have a chili by it indicating that it was spicy, was indeed spicy, my daughter offered to switch with me. Her order was the combo and it took longer so it wasn't out yet. I asked the employee at the counter if that was also a spicy meal and she said that it was. I explained that our two orders didn't indicate with a chili that it was spicy like the naughty chicken did and that I can't eat it. I suggested maybe they let people know since there is no indication on their order board. Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't know this though since we never eat fried chicken. I honestly don't know. She explained that the owners are Pakistani and it's basically the spices they use in the mix. I don't know how I was supposed to know that this place called Chicken G's was a place that would only have spicy food. I asked for another side of the Mac and cheese and she gave it to me at no charge and gave me a bit more so I could "enjoy your meal with your family". That was very gracious of her and I really appreciated it. My husband, who loves spicy food and purposely ordered the naughty chick because it would be spicy as indicated by the chili on the order board, loved his meal lol. We all really liked the Mac and cheese. I also liked the coleslaw but didn't try the fries because they looked like they had some of the spice mix on it too. I would definitely recommend it to my friends who like spicy foods. Mac and cheese is almost always too mushy and bland and this mac and cheese was a very pleasant surprise.
