I was craving that "greasy diner" burger kind of meal so I visited the Golden Bull as it is close to my home and I didn't have to go into town and deal with 5:00 traffic. I arrived around 5:15pm and there were a couple of cars in the parking lot. I expected to see patrons in the seating area however, it was empty. Their hours are 6am to 6pm so I felt kind of bad showing up 45 mins before closing. The staff was very kind and friendly and didn't show any signs of being bothered that I was there. I was out by 5:30 to take my food home. I ordered a Jr. Cheeseburger for my son, nothing on it, just meat and cheese. I didn't specifically say "no sauce" so it did have some thousand island type sauce on it. Honestly, my son had no idea and ate almost all of it before he opened it and saw it and suddenly didnt like it. (He liked it, he just doesn't like things to be different) perfect size for a child's burger. A little bigger than a McDonald's burger. My husband ordered the pastrami which comes with pickles and mustard. He added Swiss cheese and says it could have used a little more than what they added. According to him it was good, but nothing remarkable and it had plenty of meat. No negative comments. I had the bacon cheeseburger which came with chopped lettuce, tomato, pickles, and that Thousand Island type pink sauce. The burger was good, it had the taste I was craving. That flat grill char really hit the spot. My burger was drippy. There was one large tomato slice that fit the entire burger. I had to drop some of the lettuce out because it kept falling out anyway and I wanted to have more of the other flavors pop. There was about two slices of bacon and only 3 pickle chips. I personally love pickles so I would ask for extra next time. I also ordered a large fry and large onion ring to share. I preferred the fries over the onion rings but both were good. I like BBQ sauce with my onion rings but I was not a fan of their BBQ. I don't know how to explain the flavor. It was a runny sauce and had almost this Mexican spice flavor to it. Here it is Friday morning and we had some time to kill so we decided to try out this place for breakfast as we've seen it multiple times in our travels. We walked in and were immediately enveloped by the aroma of deliciousness as we strolled up to the counter where we were warmly greeted. The menu has lots to offer from all types breakfast dishes to burgers, sandwiches, side dishes and so much more including beers. The hubby loves his chile verde so I already knew what he was going to order, the chile verde burrito of course. I, on the other hand always have a hard time deciding so I ask for recommendations. "Try the chile verde omelet", I'm told, it tastes so different than the burrito. While we were waiting for our food, we helped ourselves to a cup of coffee and took in the wall murals. The food came out and we picked it up from the counter. The burrito looked like a burrito but the omelet looked wonderful, slathered in green salsa. According to the hubby, the burrito was the bomb so don't t let looks fool you. The omelet was delicious! The meat was so tender and juicy! The green salsa was spot on, just the right amount of spice with a bit of a kick. The gentleman that took our order came over with a pot of coffee, asked if we'd like refills and we got to talking. His name is Sergio and he's the owner. It's his salsa recipe and he's there every morning prepping for the days meals. Me and my wife have eaten here. We really like it! They have good burgers and fries. Hard to find a good burger. Usually the meat it's self isn't that good and they mask it with a bunch of stuff but they have good meat. Soda and fries are good too. 5 stars! We called them before they closed not knowing the hours and they called us back and said they will take care of us. That says something about caring about your customers , not just closing down. I will remember that and be a regular customer of there's when I need something to eat when I'm out and about. I called in for a breakfast mixed burrito, It was almost ready when i got there 7 minutes after calling. The staff was very friendly and the establishment was clean. They serve BREAKFAST ALL DAY. The burrito was good but not the best I had in town. Ask for extra salsa. It's really good. The burrito wasn't gigantic, but just right. You can split it between two people if you're not that hungry. This place looked like the Golden Ox which used to be a pretty rad place on Niles St. back in the day, and I happened to be in the area so I stopped by. The prices are exorbitant and the pastrami sandwich I got was okay, but was TINY. What an insult! Would not recommend unless you're trapped out where it is for some reason and you have no other choice. As for me, I'll probably never go back to try anything else since it's in the middle of nowhere. read more

We have been coming here for years. They are consistent and the prices are fair. There are many combos to choose from and a large menu for breakfast and lunch. They have gyros, burgers, burritos, and salads to name a few items. We usually have the colossal cheeseburger with fries. The colossal has the burger patty and pastrami with all the regular toppings. It is the husband's favorite. The fries are good and crisp. I sometimes will get a bacon burger, Ortega burger, or a burger with 2 patties. I like the sauce on the burgers and the bread is never stale. It is the kind with sesame seeds. The patties are thin and well seasoned. This time we had a side of mushrooms and one of onions. The mushrooms are always good. They are served with ranch. The onion rings are a good portion, not soggy either, but I didn't care for the coating. Thick compared to that on the mushrooms. Portions are generous. You are allowed one refill on your soda from the dispenser. Also, beer and baklava is also available. I wish they would allow a substitution on the combos. read more

This place is the best for breakfast. I don't eat meat but I love their hashbrowns, and they'll scramble them with veggies for me and they're so, so delicious! They also have some of the best fried mushrooms in town. The ranch they make is also awesome, and I feel like it has some added dill to it (which makes me way too happy). The family who owns and runs this is just filled with top-notch people. They close in July to go to Greece and so many people miss them, because they're one of those places you stop multiple days a week. It sorta feels like home. You can't go wrong with anything you order here because it's done up with love. I know that's cheesy, but it's true. Support local and make the drive out this way. We stopped at the Golden Bull after a day of fishing at Buena Vista Lake. Orders are placed at the counter and your meal is delivered to your table when it's ready. Hubby ordered the double cheese burger combo. The grandkids and I had the regular cheese burger combos. Wow! The burgers are huge! We could have actually ordered 2 and divided it between the 4 of us. The burgers were really good as were the fries. The restaurant is small, but comfortable with ample seating. There is also a patio with outdoor seating. What the? WOW! I am basing this review on one item that was brought home to me from a road trip - the chicken burrito (extra spicy). It was made fresh to order through the drive thru and I think I was told it was only $6 or so. It was wrapped in such a way that it was still warm when it got home to me. Delicious! The extra spicy part were these really hot jalapenos (seeds and all) and when I ask for spicy, I am not usually so impressed but I was this time. Hubby even saw the guys making the chicken fresh on the grill for our wee order. I wish he had got his own %^&*( thing as I had to share mine but decent portion for the price. I would go out of my way to go here to try out more of their food. *Update - 2 stars off after a drive out there to grab some food from inside the restaurant. We likely should have left when we saw the back door open at the drive thru and at least 2 cats with their heads in the door. Went inside, not the cleanest nor most sanitary. Dirty buckets at eye level. Flies everywhere. Not one customer inside at 655pm. Customer service, not there. We get it, it may have been a long day and they close at 8pm but you are only as good as you last customer. We ordered the fried zucchini, bean burrito and 2 carne asada special. Nothing was that great. Zucchini had a hard chewy texture like corn meal. The fries had an odd spice flavor, not for me. The burrito underwhelmed (it hit the garbage) as did the tacos. It is a walk-up counter in a ambience of a diner style establishmen The owners are Greek, and have great menu selections which is mostly traditional American oriented; but with flairs of Greek menu items as well. The wall has nostalgic Greek paintings and gives a very cozy atmosphere. You can find Gyros, Baklava; but just as well your burgers and sandwiches. Furthermore, I do not agree that this place is categorized as ''Fast Food'' on Yelp, as it deserves the label ''Restaurant''. Now, they do have a drive thru window for your convenience, but it is just more than a Fast Food place. The people that work here are incredibly friendly, and prices are extremely reasonable. If a coffee goes for 1.35 plus tax, then you kind of now that it's very fairly priced. Their menu is huge, but I would recommend getting one of their specials. Awesome food! Always a great place to stop in for lunch, with all the choices they have your sure to find something to please your taste buds. They keep the drink station clean and stocked, the tables picked up and wiped down, and the bathrooms always properly stocked. My personal favorite is the pastrami sandwich... or at least it was until today!! Today I decided to try some Greek food... yes I said it, Greek! I mean after all the place is owned by a very nice Greek family that greets you with smiles, and always remember to thank you as you walk out their door.
