Would have been a five star, but the owner charges a 3% "service fee" with each order just for buying food here. This is on top of the local 11.25% sales tax. I assumed this was a credit card fee, so I paid cash to avoid it, When i brought it to the staff's attention that I still got charged the extra 3% even with paying cash, I was told that "service fee" is charged regardless of paying cash or card. We were walking around Gatlinburg at night and we were all hungry so Chicken Hut was one of the only places open. Even though it was late they were super nice and took our order. We got a kids burger, hot dog and fries, honey bbq wings and fresh cut fries. While we waited for the food we sat in the dining room watching some tv and looking at the brightly painted red and yellow walls. The food was cooked relatively fast and was hot. Everything tasted great! The wing sauce was delicious and the wings super crispy. The burger and hot dog had good flavoring. The hand cut fries were perfect, they were just the right amount of crisp and not overly salty. This place is a good little hole in the wall. It is fast and delicious, the staff was nice. Stopped in late night after walking up and down the strip, it sits back into the shopping center. Since the area is a tourist area. Limited seating but the wings I had were delicious, my kids had hot dogs and fries. Nothing wrong with some fast food when you're out and about on the town. They don't put salt on the fries so if taking it to go make sure to add before leaving. When I took it back in the work staff begrudgingly just gave me a new bun. The worst thing is the food is quite expensive when it should be incredibly cheap considering the quality. The guy said "it's not mine" to which I replied well it's not mine clearly you can see its way longer. He asked did I want more? Sign at the door asked to wear masks, however, no one behind the counter (2 cashier and 4 cooks) were wearing one. I was happy to find this place. I ordered a foot long hotdog with many toppings, my husband ordered a double cheeseburger, and my sister-in-law ordered a turkey club. We found everything to be delicious, filling, and much cheaper than a lot of the other food in town. Not as crowded as the other places either.
