We had a lovely meal seated at the bar at the Cherokee Grill. They're a bustling spot, so we were happy without reservations that we were able to grab a spot at the bar. The bartender was lovely and attentive throughout our visit (though, obviously, he was quite busy! He kept up on everything like a champ). We began with cocktails. For me, I got a Manhattan, which was perfectly made. For my main dish, I got wild salmon with sauteed mushrooms as my side. I also got a caesar side salad and my meal came with warm, and absolutely delicious fresh baked bread. Everything was flavorful and perfect. The salad was well dressed and had tomato--I'm flexible when it comes to caesar but I know some of you all are purists so just a note. The salmon had a wonderfully smoky flavor from the grill, and the mushrooms were perfectly sauteed and delicious. We really enjoyed our dinner at Cherokee Grill. We had a 7:15 reservation and when we arrived a few minutes early we were promptly seated. The restaurant is large and has ample seating for any size groups. The service was a bit slow but the restaurant was full and our waitress was working quite a few tables. Unfortunately over the years, the quality seems to be on the decline. The hostess didn't smile, didn't speak, just motioned to follow her. That was disturbing. Drinks were delicious and calamari was ok. A bit greasy but ok. Family ordered two filets and prime rib and they were cooked to perfection. My ribeye was not cooked as requested and way overcooked. I wasn't able to resolve as the waitress didn't come back to see how our meal was cooked. I only ate a few bites so that was very disappointing. The following day we visited The Park Grill, right next door, and it was fantastic. Next visit I will likely spend my dollar at The Park Grill. read more

If you want to drop $120 on an average meal for two this is your place. We ordered and when they brought the drinks asked to change from crab cakes to prime rib. The waiter Seth said it was already too late. I doubt that. So at the end of the meal when there were only two bites out of the crab cakes because they were awful, he decided to bring a manager by. They offered free desert but we were done and just wanted to leave. Never offered to adjust the bill or anything. They should have given us credit for the crab cakes as it was obvious we did not like them as they were all still in the plate. Waiter seemed more concerned about his appearance than taking care of the customer and the manager was useless. When you pick up a plate where the $40 crab cakes only have one bite missing you should take care of the customer. As for the restaurant it is extremely loud. Not much to add to my first review other than the quality and service are still top notch! We got there at 5 pm on a Wednesday and there was no wait. Service was fast and super helpful and friendly. The bread at the beginning is good but "herby" according to my husband. Last time we ordered filets, so this time we tried the ribeyes and were definitely not disappointed! Wonderful quality and cooked perfectly (medium, as ordered). I started to get a different side but I loved the blue cheese grits so much last time, I just had to get them again. The kitchen was having a hard time with large parties back to back, and the filet we ordered came out medium-well instead of medium-rare. No worries, though-- they remade it to a rare/mid-rare temperature that was much better than the first steak brought out. My mac 'n' cheese side was phenomenal. It was like a spinach dip with pasta; cheesy, creamy, slightest bit of heat, perfect al dente noodles. Sinfully delicious. For drinks we tried their Caramel Apple Old Fashioned and a typical Old Fashioned made with Bulleit. We skipped on the dessert menu because we were so full, but the options listed sounded great. The food here is fantastic. I've been here a few times, and my kids absolutely love that they have a Shirley Temple on the menu. (It was the only thing that got them through a hike without complaining). The steaks here are great, the sides are also awesome, and the place is super classy. Great for a date night. I ordered chicken with vegetabl gravy. the surprise was that vegetable gravy was code word for pimento cheese with water. I ordered the filet which was $37, and I've been to nice steakhouses that charge more than this for a lesser quality. It's by far the best steak I've had, it was so flavorful and tender and cooked exactly right. My group all got steaks and had the same feedback for the new York strip too. It's a perfect spot for a nice date night, or taking out the family. They accommodate everyone, and you really get to relax and be treated special. I really didn't enjoy this experience. We did visit late in the evening. The fried chicken was over cooked and hard to cut, but the sauce was very good. The blue cheese grits were very heavy on the blue cheese which overpowered the grits. Because we visited later in the evening, we requested of our waiter, Alan, four times to preorder the blackberry cobbler dessert. He refused to put it in and kept saying he's putting it in after our meal. When we finished our meal, he indignantly said, "Uh, when I picked up the cobbler it is apple." The kitchen ran out of blackberry while we were eating. We specifically SPECIFICALLY asked ALAN to put it in and when we mentioned that, he caught an attitude. One member of our party said we shouldn't leave a tip. I left one anyway but I wish I hadn't. Alan's attitude was very unpleasant. Disappointing experience.
