This was some of the BEST bruschetta I've ever had! They were able to accommodate and not have cheese on had but the balsamic and tomato mix was so flavorful! The pork chop was also super tender and I was able to split this in half, the portion was great! We visited last week. I used to say this was my favorite restaurant and have always looked forward to stopping here when in Gatlinburg. Unfortunately over the years, the quality seems to be on the decline. The hostess didn't smile, didn't speak, just motioned to follow her. That was disturbing. Drinks were delicious and calamari was ok. A bit greasy but ok. Family ordered two filets and prime rib and they were cooked to perfection. My ribeye was not cooked as requested and way overcooked. I wasn't able to resolve as the waitress didn't come back to see how our meal was cooked. I only ate a few bites so that was very disappointing. The following day we visited The Park Grill, right next door, and it was fantastic. Next visit I will likely spend my dollar at The Park Grill. read more

Not much to add to my first review other than the quality and service are still top notch! We got there at 5 pm on a Wednesday and there was no wait. Service was fast and super helpful and friendly. The bread at the beginning is good but "herby" according to my husband. Last time we ordered filets, so this time we tried the ribeyes and were definitely not disappointed! Wonderful quality and cooked perfectly (medium, as ordered). I started to get a different side but I loved the blue cheese grits so much last time, I just had to get them again. Yesterday's fruit cobbler of the day was apple, my favorite, so we finished it off with a shared hot apple cobbler and vanilla ice cream. I Drove down from RI to surprise my mother on Mother's Day (2026). Reservations were made at the Cherokee Grill in Gatlinburg TN. The parking was easy and the restaurant is beautiful. We were seated right away. My mom uses a walker and they were thoughtful enough to give us a table close to the door so it would be easier for her to navigate. Our server (David) came over and took our orders. I ordered the Ribeye steak (chefs kiss ). The food was delicious and the service was amazing. I can not speak highly enough about our waiter David. He was courteous, thoughtful and attentive. I'll give him 10 's . He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Shout out to David for the experience. we came in on tuesday evening the week of thanksgiving and waited about 30 minutes for a table for two. this was pleasant considering reservations are recommended as they book very far out! service was friendly and attentive. we had the ribeye and it was great. definitely recommend the hash potato type of side dish (neva's), as other reviews recommended this and we were glad we listened! the restaurant itself feels a little nicer than the other sports bars around gatlinburg, but not so fancy that you'll feel out of place wearing jeans or comfortable clothing. read more

This was one of the most unprofessional host experiences we've had. Our party included four small children, and it was obvious we were not treated the same as other guests. We watched the hostess take reservations for multiple groups in front of us. When we asked for a reservation for the next day, she suddenly said she couldn't make reservations and needed a manager. She then walked away and never came back, leaving us waiting at the front with no communication. Before that, we were repeatedly pushed to dine at the restaurant across the street instead stating they are owned by the same people and are just as good. Being redirected instead of given a straight answer felt dismissive and intentional. If families are not welcome, that should be stated clearly rather than handled through avoidance and poor customer service. After a long day of museums, the aquarium, and tons of walking, we stopped by for a relaxing dinner. Chloe was our server, and she was just a doll-- very kind, great personality, prompt and efficient. We ordered the egg rolls appetizer (forgot to snag a photo of them) to share while we snacked on their bread and butter. Both the bread and the egg rolls were delicious! For dinner, we ordered the Filet special (12 oz.) and the Lobster tail special (1.5 lbs). The kitchen was having a hard time with large parties back to back, and the filet we ordered came out medium-well instead of medium-rare. No worries, though-- they remade it to a rare/mid-rare temperature that was much better than the first steak brought out. My mac 'n' cheese side was phenomenal. It was like a spinach dip with pasta; cheesy, creamy, slightest bit of heat, perfect al dente noodles. Sinfully delicious. For drinks we tried their Caramel Apple Old Fashioned and a typical Old Fashioned made with Bulleit. We skipped on the dessert menu because we were so full, but the options listed sounded great. The food here is fantastic. I've been here a few times, and my kids absolutely love that they have a Shirley Temple on the menu. (It was the only thing that got them through a hike without complaining). The steaks here are great, the sides are also awesome, and the place is super classy. Great for a date night. But I'd have to say what really stood out about our last visit was our server, Jess. She was so attentive, kind, and helped my teenage daughter get exactly what she wanted for dinner. We started with the Spanish Artichoke Dip, which was warm, flavorful, and perfect with the chips. The restaurant also serves a delicious house bread. For the main course, I had the Prosperity Steak, and the Worcestershire butter added an incredible depth of flavor, making it a great combination. Pleasant surprise. I overheard a downtown shop owner recommending this place for the food and the service, so I decided to try it out. I was not expecting this restaurant to be as nice as it was. It has a rustic/older style feel inside, but by design; maybe 70s/80s ranch style. It fits well in Gatlinburg while still feeling sort of upscale. Anyway, the food was great. Great salads, great large chopped steak, and pretty good blue cheese grits (a little string for my taste, but I ate them all anyway). read more

I ordered the filet which was $37, and I've been to nice steakhouses that charge more than this for a lesser quality. It's by far the best steak I've had, it was so flavorful and tender and cooked exactly right. My group all got steaks and had the same feedback for the new York strip too. It's a perfect spot for a nice date night, or taking out the family. They accommodate everyone, and you really get to relax and be treated special. First time visit and I can certainly say it wont be our last. The atmosphere of the restaurant causes you to relax and enjoy a fancy dining experience. The staff was great and provided great service getting us seat immediately and providing us with recommendations. What an awesome steak house right in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg. Very elegant outside and entrance and a cozy lodge like ambiance inside. Seated right away (a little before the dinner rush) our server was fantastic. All the cocktails, appetizers and entrees were taking by memory. And all came out correctly. Speaking of cocktails my Manhattan was one of the best I've had in a long time. Appetizers for the table included charbroiled shrimp and a very tasty spinach-artichoke dip which both disappeared quickly. lol Some of the hits of the table were prime rib, New York Strip and Maryland Crab cakes. All were raved about. No matter how good the food, the service has to match for a truly top notch experience. No exceptions here. Totally attentive, and committed to providing the best service possible. He anticipated all our needs and was quick to respond to any and all requests. They did a fabulous job. Came for Thanksgiving. We've never eaten at a restaurant for Thanksgiving before but we thought we'd give it a try this year because we're staying in our RV. We've been to Cherokee Grill many times in the past and it's usually amazing so we were really looking forward to it. This experience today was a huge disappointment. The Thanksgiving meal started with a beef vegetable soup. The potatoes weren't fully cooked and the second bite I took was completely raw potato. When the meal came, it looked great. But once I started trying things, it turned out to be more disappointing than the soup. The stuffing was wet, soggy and mushy, inedible. The Mac and cheese had so many onions in it, inedible. The green beans were clearly out of a can. I've eaten canned green beans previously but I've never seen them smashed up like they were here. The turkey was the most edible thing on the plate. Don't come here for Thanksgiving if you are looking for a good traditional meal. read more

I don't really have a preference!" Repeat the above conversation about 50 times over the next 25 years... I have ALWAYS wanted to try this restaurant, but we never did (read above again). FINALLY in Gatlinburg celebrating our grandson's 9th birthday and we landed on this - his mom was younger than him when I first started suggesting we go here. We all ate light lunches and made 4 o'clock reservations when we knew it would not be crowded. Got there a little early and were seated immediately. There were 9 of use spanning 4 generations. We got the semi-private glassed-in "room"! I remember years ago walking in to see what the vibe was here and thought how cool it would be to sit in here - it was cool and the almost two-year-old was trapped! Without breaking it down by individuals, here is what was ordered: Several Prosperity steaks, prime rib, grilled shrimp, pork chop, hamburger with ketchup and mustard only (5-year-old) along with several French onion soups, Neva potatoes, baked potatoes, mac and cheese, mushrooms, oysters on the half shell, wedge salad, garden salad. Synopsis: All the steaks were cooked perfectly and thoroughly enjoyed. I am an A-1 steak sauce fan (freak) and use it judiciously, but not tonight. First time in a long time I didn't use it - didn't need it. The soup was deemed "the best they ever had" by everyone that had it as was the steaks. Pork chop was a little dry - I tried it, BUT that is how my mother-in-law likes ANY meat she orders and requested it be cooked that way since the waiter stated it is cooked medium (and juicy). She enjoyed it! One caveat, the shrimp was way overcooked, but when brought to their attention, my wife was offered a re-do or something else. After all the salad, soup and bread, she declined and they took it off the bill. I wish I had asked for more butter for my potato, because it was huge and coulda used it. The Neva potatoes and mac and cheese were deemed very good, but very rich. The wedge salad was cold and crisp with delicious blue cheese dressing - this from a non-fan of blue cheese. Bread was wonderful! Our waiter, Chris I think, was amazing and very informed. He even shared some history of the restaurant and surrounding area. The host originally told us it would be a 55-minute wait, but we were seated in just 25 minutes -- impressive considering how busy it was! The service was absolutely phenomenal. Our server, Jess, was amazing -- friendly, attentive, and even took the time to play with my baby! Other servers also went out of their way to make sure my little one was happy and content. A+ service all around! I really appreciated how welcoming they were -- I never once felt uncomfortable bringing in a baby who could screech like a tiny dinosaur. The food was just as incredible. Entrée 1: wedge salad ...OK Entrée 2: fried chicken...dry and tough Entrée 3: Alaska grilled salmon...tasty Entrée 4: Seafood platter...good But WHY should it take nearly an hour to show up? Wait staff at first pleaded ignorance as to the problem; eventually came back after records showed the meal took one hour from order to delivery, and comped a whole $30 from a $154 tab...so basically they paid for the wedge salad and the fried chicken. Not impressed. Waiter was tipped appropriately for the (lack of) service. We will think long and hard before ever returning here...SO disappointed! read more

Not sure what makes this one of my very favorite restaurants when I travel. The wait staff is truly exceptional. The food is wonderfully prepared and is it plentiful! My advice is to scale back on ordering too much food until you see what comes out to your table. I ordered the chicken strips and thought I was going to get three big strips; nope! I received eight nicely breaded, all white meat strips. I paired it with an order of Tennessee Blue Cheese Grits. Wow! Simply delicious. The restaurant itself is artfully decorated. Fillet at medium and it came well done without any demi glaze sauce that was on the menu and presentation..well there was none, there also no vegetable melody as they were supposedly out of even though it was a daily chefs menu. My wife ordered the prosperity steak that first came out with no butter as listed on the chefs menu, and instead of being medium rare it came out medium well. Booths were old not to comfortable, Nice big fireplace next to us. They did bring new steaks, just took for ever. Heard folks behind us have the same issue. After 15+ years of dining at the Cherokee Grill every December during parade weekend, I'm sad to say that my go-to spot let me down this year. The prime rib has always been the star of the menu, but at 7 PM -- when most people were at the parade and the restaurant was only about half full -- they were already out. When I asked about it, the manager simply shrugged and said, "What do you want me to do about it?" That response was more disappointing than the missing entrée. Service wasn't any better. Our server spent more time chatting with coworkers than checking on us, and it took over 20 minutes just to get an old fashioned. For a restaurant of this caliber, that's unacceptable. I truly hope Copper Cellar corporate reads this and takes corrective action. Cherokee Grill has been my favorite restaurant in Gatlinburg for years, and I want to keep it that way. I will give them another chance on my next visit, and I will update this review accordingly. read more
