    Kimchi fried rice
    Kelvin L.

Chicken in the Kitchen has a large patio (with winter heating) and a cozy interior that feels like a wood cabin. They serve fried chicken among other Korean dishes. They have 2, 4, booths, and indoor and heated outdoor seating for about 24-30 inside and another ~24 outside. The service was quick and the food came out about 15-20 min after ordering. We were a bit disappointed by the kimchi fired rice, either due to the size of the pan being too big or the portion too small. There also really wasn't much of kimchi in the fried rice and didn't stay warm/hot long since the pan was cold. The fried chicken (the star) was pretty good, definitely upgrade with the $2 boneless option, to get breast meat (half was juicy half was a bit dry) mixed with dark meat. It comes with peanut toppings and reheats amazingly in the microwave and was still crispy (it dried out in the air fryer). Our order: - Kimchi fried rice, on the smaller side, pan is a bit too big and was not hot, so no crispy rice - the side dishes were the standard picked radish and cabbage - the sweet chili chicken was juicy and saucy, served with potato wedges and fried debokki Will try their other flavors next time, like their cheese + Korean Fried Chicken dish.

Korean Sweet Chili Fried Chicken (Large)

I've been to several Korean Fried chicken places in the GTA and I would say this is one of the better ones in terms of size and taste. We got the Korean Sweet Chili fried chicken and the portions were huge. It also comes with fries and fried rice cakes which was a nice touch. We also got the kimchi fried rice but the portion was a bit smaller than I expected. Otherwise, the food was tasty. The staff were pleasant and helpful with food recommendations. In terms of the vibes, it was designed to feel like a place you'd go out with friends for late night eats and drinks. You get your own little booth and overall it felt pretty cozy. They have an impressive heated patio as well.

Great price for the food and very good portion sizes! Cheap shots 4$ per and servers were always willing to give us more! Chill ambiance with some nice outdoor seating as well, overall great spot for a night out or for a date

YUM YUM YUM YUM YUMMMM!!! . for sure one of the toooppp korean fried chicken ive everrr haddd . HUGGEEE portions and after eating for a while you dont get tired of the taste, sauces were amazing and my friends loved the side dishes (especially the radish) .zero complaints on food we scraped our plates cleaaaan . we came on the later side but the servers and staff were more than happy to help us . our booth did feel a little too crammed for 6 people? we were eating shoulder to shoulder but not too big of an issue for us . washrooms looking a little grim but who am i to say anything (i hate taking care of resturant washrooms)

Always appreciate it when decent restaurants are opened passed 9pm in Toronto! I came here with friends and we shared their Korean pancake and original (large) fried chicken! The service was amazing, and the atmosphere in their patio section was nice! They have heaters in between tables to keep their guests warm

This is the first time I visit after Covid. It is busy on Friday night. Menu needs to scan to your cell phone to read. It has loud music. The sever is nice. The seat is tight for group of 4 in the wooden bench. I ordered volcano chicken and gold crispy chicken. Both has the same taste. I have to order some sauce to give a better flavour. I ordered honey garlic and spicy sauce. Each costs 50 cents extra. The volcano chicken has a burger bun with cheese dip in it. Surrounded by boneless chicken , fries and cheese stick. The cheese dip is hard to scope with the chicken very soon it is served. Both chicken dish has the same taste and bland and not very juicy. I was so regret and my mind was thinking "I wish I went to Popeyes or KFC". The 2 dishes cost $60 plus tax plus tips. Very disappointing. I give points to the server hence it is 2 star. Will not go back.

We were deciding between the garlic chip chicken and end up ordering the gold fried chicken. I was disappointed in the wings, it was very dry I had to ask for sauce. It's liile pub style food.

Korean friend chicken bar style, the food is good but not as good as people claim to be. If you want slightly above average fried chicken with some alcohol while listening to kpop hip pop then it's a good place to be. Get a patio table

Full Gold Fried Chicken $29.99, Kimchi Fried Rice $12.99

We dined here during the period where there are minimal restrictions in the city and only outdoor patio dining is allowed. The spot we got was warm enough because of the heating installed. Prior to getting to sit down there was a wait list and it took around at least 30 minutes before we got the textback that our spot for 2 was ready. We did not get to sample a variety of dishes because of our small group of 2 people. Our order was full Gold Fried Chicken ($29.99), and Kimchi Fried Rice($12.99) to go along with it. I have no complaints with what we ordered. I liked the cheesiness of the fried chicken, and, at least for my taste, it paired well with the slight spiciness of the Kimchi Fried Rice. The order amount was a lot for 2 people to finish so we still had a lot of chicken for take away. Overall, it was a nice dining experience. Service was sufficient. I also have nothing to say about the price, taste, and value of the food.

Winner winner Chicken Dinner ___ Chicken In The Kitchen is known for boneless KFC. ___ Take a look at this incredible cheese pull from the EPIC Cheese Volcano Chicken. Dip chunks of crispy fried boneless chicken into the bread bowl with melted Gouda and Parmesan Cheese. And pieces of fried chicken, Korean Fried Rice Cakes and bread on top of rose sauce. So decadent! ---- Can't go wrong with Garlic and Soy Chicken or for something spicy go for Red Hot Chili. All orders comes with delicious potato wedges. I suggest adding the Kimchi Fried Rice topped with a fried egg that's served in a hot skillet. You will thank me for that cause it's oh such deliciousness here!

Huge disappointment! The day prior to eating here I had purchased some Korean fried chicken from H-Mart down the street and was absolutely mind blown at how ridiculously good it was. So while walking past this place, I figured that if H-mart can do it well, this restaurant dedicated to ONLY friend Chicken should do it better. Unfortunately that was not the case. The chicken was very dry. Not very tasty either. I had to ask for spicy sauce to drown my chicken in order to give it some flavour. On the other hand the fried rice was good. The price for the chicken was high, so I was expecting much better. Can't believe H-Mart did it better. Service was slow and unresponsive. The atmosphere killed it for me, as we were sitting next to a group of adolescent mid thirties guys with young at heart attitudes that were constantly swearing and cursing while they were getting drunk and talking about street racing. The atmosphere was very loud. Not a family or kid friendly place. I think this place is probably geared towards the younger, beer drinking, looking for a place to chill on a Friday night in the neighbourhood crowd. I won't be coming here again unless it's specifically to have a beer.

    Fish cake soup
    Sophie T.

Four star rating mainly because of the location, super cozy heated patio and good service. Definitely a cute and convenient place to hang out at. Food overall is alright, I have only tried the fried chicken and fish cake soup. Fried chicken is decent, but the fish cake soup is a pass as it is really just a bowl of fish cake with some flavored soup.

Nice patio My husband and I want to dine outside and this place is right beside the intersection of Yonge and finch. We came here during COVID so we could only dine at patio. The staff here is attentive and approach us for COVID temperature check. We scan the QR code on the table to view menu. We ordered 2 katsu, one chicken and one pork. We wait for a while and it is very crispy, so it is freshly fried. It is typically bar comfort food.

We were lured in through some mail in ads that showcased their daily specials. which are pretty great. When we were there it was $15 for a burger with a side and a pint of beer or $2 less for pop. We each got one of those and ordered a lb of wings to share as well. They serve wings in the original format which is less breaded and the breaded version is bigger and more crispy and maybe caloric. We opted original for the wings and fries. For our burgers, we went for veggie sticks and an upgraded bowl of salad to balance out the meal. I'm just surprised that the greens were super fresh for a bar. I'm so used to crappy old salads from a pubs. Burgers were nice and juicy. Wings are as consistent as I last remembered it. The server even allowed me to customize a sauce blend because it wasn't too busy that night. We even peeked at their drink menu and cocktails are like only $8 something and it's regular price. Overall great experience.

I have known about this Jollibee location at Promenade Mall for a while. I finally got around to visiting it on Monday after work, which completed my visiting Jollibee locations in the suburbs of Toronto. I like this Jollibee. It's by mall entrance 2. You have access to this eatery from the mall or through its own entrance when the mall is closed. Most Jollibee restaurants have washrooms with a numeric code that you need to use to unlock it. This one does not have this code, which is nice to not bug staff for the special code. I used the washroom before I left. It was decent. You press a button to lock the door and press the larger button to unlock it. I spent a bit of time at the mall. I worked up an appetite and headed over to Jollibee for a bite to eat. It's across from Firehouse Subs, which I'd like to visit someday. I walked through the mall entrance to get here. The downside to looking at the menu is that there's so much that I want. My usual is often not listed right off the bat. I have to wait for the screen to change to see it. I got a nice man at the counter who greeted me and took my order: - Two-piece burger steak - Adobo rice - Peach mango pie - Pineapple quencher I got my Jollibee rewards QR code scanned. I then paid with a credit card. I tapped, but didn't see that the credit card had prompted me for my PIN. It was incredibly random! I got my pineapple quencher. I love this drink so much. It is sweet. I'm glad that I don't have it regularly, so it ends up being a treat. The pineapple is so good. It's also icy cold. I got a buzzer to let me know when my food would be ready. I found a table and sat there, sipping my drink and people-watching. My order was number 19. The buzzer had 19 on in. It buzzed and lit up like I had won the lottery. It was kind of true. I was fetching my winnings in the form of dinner. I thanked another man at the counter who had my order nicely presented on a tray. I then headed back to my table to eat. I find the two-piece burger steak to be comforting. It's so good with sliced mushrooms and gravy. Adobo rice was new, so I went for it. It was flavourful. I hope it stays on the menu, as it's a fancy step up from the plain steamed rice! I mixed the adobo rice with the mushroom gravy. It was fantastic! I capped my meal off with a peach mango pie. It was excellent. There was plenty of fruit filling. The pie was crispy and hot. Yum! Before I left, I filled my empty cup with Diet Pepsi. I still don't know if I should be doing this fill-up, but I run out of pineapple quencher quickly that I genuinely need another drink. Maybe I need to suggest a larger quencher cup size, but I'd be on a massive sugar high than I already have with the current cup size. I'm glad that I can finally say that I've been here. Staff were helpful and great. The food and drink were yummy. I'll be back soon. (224)

Each container was of premium quality, but the standout was how well the fried chicken was packed. It was absolutely amazing! Here's what we got: Cheez Ball (6 pcs): A perfect appetizer. I tried them while they were still warm, and each piece of fried dough was filled with a savoury, gooey cheesy centre. These chewy goodness never got old, and I could have easily eaten the entire order myself. It was the perfect way to start the meal. Pelicana Fried Chicken Boneless Large (Half): These two-bite boneless chicken pieces had a thin, crispy, and well-seasoned batter. They were juicy inside, and each piece was perfectly cooked. I loved how every bite balanced texture and flavour. Pelicana Signature Chicken Boneless Large (Half): The other half of our order featured the same crispy chicken, but this time tossed in a sweet, tangy, and mildly spicy sauce. The sauce was generously applied, enhancing the already flavourful chicken. The balance of sauce, batter, and meat was spot on. Snow Fries: A great side to complement the chicken. The fries were crispy and topped with a sweet, cheesy powder. However, the seasoning wasn't evenly distributed, so the fries at the bottom didn't get much flavour. I ended up dipping them in the signature sauce, and it worked out perfectly. In terms of value, while the quality justified the price, I felt the portions could have been more generous. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and would order again if I'm in the mood for a little splurge.

I have eyed dropping by this Kajun Chicken and Seafood eatery for a while. I'm normally in this plaza for Montreal-style bagels at St. Urbain Bagel Bakery. I changed things up by heading to Kajun for lunch. I rarely have any issue finding a parking spot. I backed into one steps away from the entrance and walked in. Staff were talking to one another when I walked in. I was the lone customer. I realized why staff were huddled around. The young woman who took my order was new. She had support around here. Nice! They were friendly. I wanted fish tenders. I asked what the difference was between a combo and a super combo. The new staffer said that the combo gives you a side and a super combo gives you two sides. I ordered the three fish tenders combo. I wanted macaroni salad as my side. The woman staffer said that I wanted fries. The man had heard me say macaroni salad. This interaction alone already made me think that my order was going to be screwed up. I was right. I was asked twice by the woman who wasn't a great listener what sauce I wanted. I said sweet and sour. She let me know that it would take a bit of time to deep-fry the fish tenders. Fair. I asked for a cup for my drink. I got it and hit the fountain machine. I was disappointed that this place does not offer any sugar-free options. Instead, I went with a Barq's vanilla cream soda with some ice. It was cold and bubbly. It was so good. Before I left, I got a refill. It took maybe ten minutes to get my order. I was happy when the new staffer called me. I thanked her and left. The fish tenders were excellent. Each was was flaky and delicious. The light coating around each one was crispy. I ate them without my sweet and sour sauce. Staff forgot to give me some. I read the combo deal online. It's supposed to come with a biscuit. I never got one. The macaroni salad was yummy. The macaroni was al dente. It was flavourful. Maybe I'll order through a mobile app next time and see if my order is accurate. I don't fault the young woman who was learning everything. It's a combination of being trained by more senior staff who have a few issues to resolve. The woman staffer who was supporting the new one should have been better at listening to my answers to her questions and holding a higher service standard. Perhaps having these adjustments in place would ensure that my order was complete. I was the only customer there. My order shouldn't have been as messed up as it was. (430)

It was the last time I dined at this mall, which would have been next door from Jollibee. I got here at around 3:30 pm. I found a parking spot in the middle of the lot. I backed into the spot and walked over to the eatery. This Jollibee has patio seating in the summertime. I walked in and there was a bit of a lineup. It allowed me to figure out what I wanted to eat. At Jollibee, I do have a regular order. However, I wasn't that hungry, so I didn't go with a side order of spaghetti. It hurt a bit, but I'll be back for some soon. I got Alyanna at the order area. She was friendly and patient with me. I got these items: - Two burger steaks with steamed rice - Pineapple quencher - Peach mango pie I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. She gave me a receipt with my order number. I waited patiently for my order. It didn't take long. I forgot to get my rewards QR code scanned. I realized when I got home that the app allows you to claim it with the special long code on the receipt. The app is glitchy. I entered the code and got an error. I did it again and it said that I had redeemed the code. So confusing! It turns out that my first attempt took and I got my reward points. Yay! The error code needs to be fixed, as it's misleading. Anyway, my order number was called out. I approached the counter. Another woman made sure that my order was correct and then handed me my tray, as I had mentioned that I'd be dining in. I thanked her and went to find a spot to sit down and eat. There are tables and seats. It was busy at this hour, but I found a table towards the restaurant's mall entrance. When I exited the mall to shop, I noticed that there are more seats to sit down and eat. I'll start with the pineapple quencher. It was sweet, but yummy. I always find that I go through this drink fast. I end up getting a refill of Diet Pepsi. I did that once while enjoying my meal. Just before I headed out, I filled it up again. My go-to meal is the two burger steaks. I love the mushroom sauce that I mix with steamed rice. It's so comforting. I love the sliced mushrooms, the sauce, and the yummy burger steaks with perfectly steamed rice. It's my favourite dish. I had a peach mango pie for dessert. It was crispy with a lot of peach mango filling. It was excellent. I needed to use the washroom. It required a code to unlock it. I went over to the order counter and asked another female staffer if I could get the code. She said that she could unlock the women's washroom from where she was and I could head over there. Well, another female staffer had made her way over to the washroom and used the single stall first. When she exited, I got to use it. It was clean and spacious. No complains. Some folks will say that eating at Jollibee is expensive. My meal was $20 after taxes. I'd say that it can be expensive. However, I don't eat here often and I'm at peace splurging when I do crave Jollibee. I'd return here for more good eats. It's a good stop between the office and home to grab a bite and relax. (155)

A bit pricey compared to other fast food chicken chains, but I think their pieces are bigger. I love that their spicy actually means spicy! There's really a good level of heat if you get their spicy chicken. Their gravy portions are generous too.

However, because of the limitation, those diners probably haven't tried many top spots for comparison in reviews. Overall I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my meal. We ordered the burger (the Ringer), onion rings, Southern fried chicken and coleslaw. The standout has to be their onion rings, probably the BEST onion rings I've ever had. The onion rings are huge and super crispy. The coleslaw is well-executed: tangy and not too much mayo, just how I like it. It complimented our fried meal well. I would love to try their hand-cut fries next time. The mains are decent too, and I would gladly have it again. They have an assortment of toppings for the burger, including sauerkraut, but we kept it simple this time with lettuce and pickles. The fried chicken is good though I can't say it's better than the original famous Southern fried chicken I had in Savannah, Georgia, a few months back. They provided a combination of 2 dark meat and 1 white meat piece. I'm thankful that I got to try fried white meat chicken. However, I prefer my fried chicken all dark meat like most places but it's extra to request it here. Staff is nice. We ordered a drink to share but they also offered a small cup so I can refill something else in the fountain if I wanted. A bit pricey, $10.99 for 2pc fried chicken and $15.99 for the burger not including sides. But such is with inflation. I guess I'll just have to catch them for their specials. I think I saw on the board a Shabbat special! Does that mean Friday evening through to Saturday? Is it only for Jewish folks? I want in on that Shabbat deal. It was a Sunday when I was there... I'm curious so would ask next time if I'm back. I could also see others not feeling right to ask if they don't practice the tradition of Shabbat.

Sheli's is legit, as I have travelled all over North America and ate at of some of the most established Fried Chicken joints America has to offer. Some Examples are Hattie B's in Nashville, Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken in Memphis, Sams Fried Chicken and Donuts in Houston and The Red Yeti in Jeffersonville IN. I've had some good Fried Chicken and Southern Style foods. Sheli's is no exception, I found the place purely by Fluke after picking up my kids from a birthday party in the plaza. I saw the sign, I saw the crowd, and I saw all the Kippahs so I was curious. Low and Behold, little did I know that Thornhill has its own Southern-Style fried chicken joint. Sheli's has gone so far as to keep it Kosher but keep it as Southern Style as possible with its pressure cooked chicken and other items. I spoke to the guy at the counter who although busy, was more than happy to share the history and the concept of Sheli's. Based on his recommendation we got an order of Home Cut Fries, a helping of Popcorn Chicken and I personally tried the BBQ Chicken Sandwich. We loved everything we got, the fries were very good, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the sandwich was out of this world. I have been back a few times with friends to try the Burgers, Beef bacon and the fried chicken. I have to say the food is top-notch, take from a guy whose been around, Sheli's is legit!!
