    Seafood Platter (23.95)
    Bosco H.

Fish and chips are great. Came here on a weekday dinner. Decent amount of takeout orders but not many people dining in. This place has a ton of selection not just for the protein but for all the different side combinations you can accompany your fish/shrimp/scallop. Their combos I think are quite good value. I got the Seafood Platter (23.95) which included battered haddock, 3 battered black tiger shrimp, 3 breaded bay scallops, fresh cut fries and a small coleslaw. It's definitely a ton of food. It's a pretty light batter overall, nice and dry on the outside but a nice fluffy inside for the haddock. Quality stuff. I'm quite skeptical of fish and chips being too oily and just leaving you feeling full and bogged down but this place does it right! Will for sure return here!

Come on a special day (Sun, Mon, Wed) Expensive on a non-special day, and smaller portions. We ordered takeout over the pandemic and portions are super generous and affordable! We dined in and got the lunch portion, on a Tuesday. Portion was much smaller, so spring for the full size. Fish is fresh, batter is yummy and fries are great! Even the coleslaw (vinegar based) is a great flavour. We got the halibut, and loved it!

What a great find. Would love to give it another half star. Came here for lunch and just had the lunch special; halibut, chips and coleslaw. Finally a place that does the fish right. Fresh fish in a light batter. Thick cut chips and malt vinegar. The service was excellent with a genuine smile and the cooks saying thank you as you leave. Highly recommend this excellent fish and chips restaurant. Eat in or take out.

Fries way over-cooked, hard and didn't taste good.

Fish was good and tasty but! French fries over-cooked! And tasted very bad, You really have to learn how to cook fries better.

We picked up four fish meals today to bring to a Father's Day lunch - 2 orders of cod and chips, and 2 orders of grilled halibut with salad. The salads were fresh, but unfortunately the fish and chips were dry and overcooked. The fish was so hard and dry, and the fries were starchy and over-fried. We ended up throwing out half of our meals. We've been to this location a few times in the past and always enjoyed the food, but today it was just really, really bad. And it wasn't just one meal that was bad - all four fish meals were really awful. A restaurant that specializes in fish and chips should be able to do one thing really well - make great fish and chips! - but today made us seriously reconsider visiting and recommending this restaurant again. We'll have to look somewhere else for good fish and chips in the city :(

Amazing specials on 3 days each week.

Fantastic. Fresh. Friendly service. Place is bright, clean and has comfy booth seating as well. It's a proper restaurant with wait staff. Take out is of course also ava Sunday nights that have a special - get fresh halibut fish and chips - a full order- for half price. Like 7.99 or so. Wha?

Great spot for the traditional dish! Their halibut tasted fresh and the batter is nice and crispy. I read the reviews about their fries, but personally, I didn't have an issue with them. You get a generous amount of food to satisfy your hunger. I will be back to try the other selections of fish!

A Hidden Gem with NYC Vibes & Central Perk Charm!…read more Took my bestie to Ravine Cafe today for bunch to celebrate her birthday, and we are still buzzing. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere hit that perfect sweet spot, that classy but cozy, with a definite New York City energy. Think lots natural light with big windows, warm and welcoming lighting, and that effortless "cool" that made us feel like we have stepped into Central Perk. Only things missing is the big orange couch and the oversized coffee mugs. The menu? Bougie without the sting. We both had the eggs Benny, while mine was the Cajun shrimp (unique and flavourful), hers was the classic bacon Benny. They were both beautifully plated, yet surprisingly reasonable for the quality. What really sealed it was the service. Staff was attentive and smiley, but the owner stole the show, came by, chatted for a solid 15 minutes, and shared the restaurant's backstory. Felt like old-school hospitality, not rushed commercially influenced like most of the commercial restaurants in the area. Perfect for a brunch gathering, a date, or just pretending you are in a rom-com. We will for sure be back, and with more friends. Thank you for the great service and amazing food!

The eggs benedict like the TPA and GTA is tried and true and are the most popular. So if you want to be safe, that is a tempting option. However, we went for something unique to Hazel's instead we got: - Hazel's hash $16 - The peppers, jalapenos, and chorizo make this dish pack full of flavour and lighter and more unique than just eggs with potatoes. I mean, they put their name on it, so it's good! - Caker $15 - I didn't expect I'll like the Caker as much as I did. The sweet and savoury works! I love the moist pancake drizzled with some maple syrup. I'm usually not a big fan of plain bacon since it can get overly salty, but the combination with egg and pancake balances the flavours here, making it super comforting. Laaren, who took our call and served us, was full of energy and friendly, which tops the whole experience. We asked and learned more about him and found out it's just his first month at work. I'm glad people are getting back to work with the reopening of Toronto. As you sit down, you can smell the faint scent of lemon, so it seems like the area is diligently sanitized after each seating. I see complete COVID-19 protocols and signs in place. All servers are masked, and we were adequately socially distanced. We arrived at the small plaza with a small parking lot today (Saturday) around 10:15 a.m. & luckily enough, it was a quiet start to the day as parking was plentiful though I can imagine it being a bit hectic during busy times. This location (there are 2 others) is in the plaza right next to the Richmond Hill location for AI Sushi. As soon as we entered, we were promptly greeted & seated at a nice corner table. Shortly after that, a nice gentleman came to placed a QR code at our table asking if we've been here before. After we said no, he explained to us how to order using the QR code. We can all scan and order individually then it shows up as one large order for the table. I think he said he can split the bill if needed & we would just need to let him know. The place itself was nice. A bit above casual with around 20 tables inside. Well light and seemed clean. I ordered the Thai red curry pasta with clams, hubby and our friend both ordered the chicken and waffles, and my cousin ordered the mushroom benedict. We all ordered a drink (hubby a flat white with the rest ordering some type of latte). Our food came pretty quickly. My pasta was delicious and had good heat (spicy kick) to it & the red curry sauce was full of deep rich flavors. I enjoyed the clams but they were a bit small so it's taste got overpowered by the sauce. I would have preferred it if they gave me fewer but larger clams. I had a taste of my hubby's fried chicken & it was really good. The batter was well seasoned & crispy but not oily and the chicken thigh was moist. The staff know what they are doing there. We were asked whether we are enjoying our food & they always made sure our water glasses were full. I highly recommend this place & am looking forward to my next visit there!

They have an extensive menu, and it all looks really good! We got the Chicken Karaage and Croffles, which really hit the spot if you like sweet and savory food! The Karaage was really well done and complimented the croffles. We also got the creme brulee souffle pancakes, which were well done! However, I do wish there was more of a caramelized top for the creme brulee. In hindsight I do wish I got a more interesting flavor like Ube or Pistachio since they have a good selection of flavors, but the creme brulee was still pretty tasty! I'd say order another flavor instead though. The souffle pancakes also take 20min to prepare which took longer than their other dishes, but as long as you're sharing plates and can eat something else until it comes then it's all good! Staff was really nice and attentive. Definitely coming back and trying more of their menu!

The drinks and food came out pretty quickly except the soufflé pancakes which takes 25minutes to prepare. My favourite was the croffle. For $10, you get 2 big pieces of croffle which tastes great with either whipped cream or syrup. The chicken karaage was kind of dry on its own, but dipping it in the syrup and eating it with the croffle made it better. If you want a hearty breakfast, the classic breakfast is a solid choice. The soufflé pancake was fluffy and delicious, well worth the wait. I was amazed by the detailed latte art as well. Highly recommend this cafe!

Having a group is hard enough to wait on never mind a large group with a bunch of babies and they were so incredible kind to all of us, literally 10/5 for service. I ordered the junior stack which is a classic breakfast with eggs, sausage/bacon, home fries, a pancake and toast with their homemade jam. The pancake also came with whipped cream. The portion was large for the price. Everyone ordered different items and they honestly all looked wonderful and plentiful, I don't think many of us finished our meals.
