The chicken at this place is really good... My 4 star rating is only because of the service (I will explain). Came through on a Friday for lunch and this place was busy, even for a gas station chicken place! I was told that a guy came through earlier and took all the food so they needed to start cooking more, they usually only cook twice a day. Got the special which was 2 piece with a honey biscuit. The only issue, it was so busy we only got the pieces of chicken and no biscuit... hence the 4 starts. Not sure it is worth the wait if you need to, but it is very good chicken and the price isn't bad. Service was good and the young man that helped us was super nice. The new location for the station is nice, about time after 20+ years, very modern and fresh.

Tasty but greasy! The flavor is good, and the crunch is satisfying, but the chicken is a bit too oily for my taste.

Chicken breast, 4 piece tenders. Honey Biscuits. Good!

Walked in and the worker was behind the counter scratching his ass. I just left didn't want him to be handling my food after that.

Pretty good for fast food. The chicken was hot and crunchy. Not too oily. Could use more flavor. Still, I'd eat it again.

I also did some research and this really isn't "gas station chicken" since the company started 3 years ago as a food truck and they are now a franchise opening in stores, in this case a gas station.

First the good, Your favorites are still there and are just as good served across a counter as they were handed down from a food truck window. We split their sliders with Louisiana Rub and fries and loved them as we always have. Secondly, it was a bit slow on this Thursday night. I believe Jojo's Kooser road customers haven't found their new home. Third, some thoughts on the location. It's clean but utilitarian and basic. I'd love to see it get a little soul and perhaps provide more of a nod to the food truck past. Maybe also expand the menu with the larger kitchen? Jojo's still has the sandwiches we love and it will be fun to watch it grow into its new space. (Loved the Jeremiah and Corinthians references too. Appropriately hopeful)

It's clean and has a lot more space than the truck. Food might take longer because of the demanding service. Fried chicken is always consistent and leaves little room for improvement. The portions are serious, the chicken is juicy, and the breading has a great crunch. What really sets them apart for me is the spice. I've had levels 3, 4, and 5, and they're not simply the same seasoning with progressively more heat. Each level actually has a different pepper profile and flavor. Level 3 brings cayenne and Thai chili, level 4 moves into Thai chili and habanero, and level 5 adds habanero and ghost pepper. You can taste the difference, not just feel more burn. The seasoned fries are great too and they definitely don't skimp on the portions. It is a little pricey for a chicken sandwich and fries, but when you see the size and quality of what you're getting, I think it's worth it. Scratch is easily one of my favorite hot chicken spots.

We ordered the Texas chicken sandwich and chicken strips. Portions were generous, and the sandwich was super tasty. The strips were fresh and flavorful, but be careful with the spice levels! We ordered level 1 and it was flaming hot. Even level 0 has a kick, so I'd recommend going one level lower than you normally would. The curly fries were also great. Overall, a solid 4/5. The only star off was for the spice-level calibration. Great food and portions, and we'll definitely be back!

I also found the chicken rice less fragrant than what I'm used to and a little dry as well, although the soup was good. The portion also felt smaller than expected for the price. After watching a review on social media, I decided to try something new. I had to try the cracklin' chicken bites. I ordered the southern fried fish, added the brisket, and the collard greens. After I ordered, I went to the bar to order a gin and tonic. I asked for the Bombay Sapphire gin. Then, it turned into an unreal experience. When I got my drink, I asked the female bartender if she added lemon or lime. She gave me "the look" and said I did not ask for lemon or lime. Taken aback, I told her that I've never had a gin and tonic without lemon or lime. She then replied, "rude". I proceeded to apologize, and then she acquiesced and gave me a garnish. I thanked her and again apologized. She was having none of it. I was in a great mood because I still tipped her. However, it has been bugging me ever since July 25. Hence, my review. Back to the food. My food was delicious, flavorful, and portion sizes were great. In fact, I am taking my parents there today. However, we are going to go to the one on South of Market--just in case I want a gin and tonic. I will be sure to ask for lime this time. :)

When I came by, there wasn't really any other patrons there so picking up my food was easy. Inside was very decorative too, it has that mom-and-pop vibe to it. Kao Gai Sap (5/5) - The chicken was soft and juicy on the inside, and crispy on the outside. It came with a chili dipping sauce, and I opted for white rice instead of chicken rice. This has to be by far the BEST chicken I've ever had. The chicken was seasoned to perfection. Cucumber was crisp and refreshing, although I do wish there were a few more slices. Would definitely order this again. Also, this Kao Gai Sap also came with a small portion of soup which was also equally as good! When you order this, make sure to ask for it LAAB STYLE! Crispy chicken skin (5/5) - I mean it's fried chicken skin, but I'm pretty sure they used the same salt/pepper seasoning on this as they did with the Kao Gai Sap, which gave it a nice flavor profile as opposed to being plain. The lemon-pepper dipping sauce was the perfect pairing with the chicken skin. The lemon flavor was there as well as the pepper, but both were very mild and didn't overpower each other. That dipping sauce made a HUGE difference. ALSO GET THIS LAAB STYLE! Will definitely be coming back because I'm hooked now. No one does chicken like Tuk Tuk!
