    Brazilian chicken
    Mika M.

So good! I got the Brazilian chicken. The chicken was packed with flavor. It was also tender, Juicy and had lot spice in it. The portion size was also huge. I recommend trying the the mango lassi which also comes in nice generous sized cup. It's in between a medium and large size. It's super creamy, mangoy and has touch of cinnamon.

Starting the year right Delivery has been the highlight of this year given COVID is still spreading like crazy out there. One of our favorite places for takeout has been Chicken Paddy! Here's what we recommend: - Soy Garlic Chicken Plate South East Asian inspired chicken braised in a sweet, garlic, soy-based, marinade. Sautéed with bell peppers and onions, served with garlic onion rice, 2 eggs, and fried garlic - Chicken Tikka Masala Plate Grilled chicken served in a spiced curry cream sauce, with cilantro lime rice and green onions Chicken Paddy is operated via ghost kitchen at 949 Ruff Drive, San Jose, California 95110, United States everyday from 11:30AM - 8:30PM Follow my food instagram for more recommendations in the Bay Area! @duyoufeelhungry

I have to echo the other reviews that the portions are really big! All of their chicken entrees are $16 and come with rice and vegetable sides. I tried the mushroom cream chicken which came with rice, garlic sauteed spinach, creamed corn, and spicy green beans with asparagus. There was a lot of food and it could probably feed 2 or even 3 people. The chicken was flavorful and not dry at all. Even the vegetables were great-- each side had its own unique flavor profile. The green beans and asparagus had a good kick to them. My favorite would have to be the creamed corn though! The corn was super sweet while the creamy sauce delivered a zesty, tangy punch of umami. Highly recommend checking out this place! It operates as a ghost kitchen with a bunch of other pickup/takeout/delivery spots near the airport. There aren't a lot of places to sit nearby.

Diamond in the Ruff - literally on Ruff drive in shanty town. This was my first time at a ghost kitchen. Ordering was easy on a simple menu, and yes, the portion sizes are large. I was honored to meet the owner and silent partner(?), and they were loads of fun to chat with. I had the chicken mushroom plate - thought the chicken and rice and Korean corn was good but the spinach was inconsistently vinegary with different bites. I also had the soy chicken plate - nice savory marinated chicken on rice with a double fried egg. I liked this better because there was no sides and didn't change my palate. Chris - I'm looking forward to Bun Me Up!

I ordered Chicken Paddy's Chicken Mushroom plate at the ghost kitchens of Ruff Drive, and it did not disappoint. I was blown away by the great quality and huge portion. The rice plate consisted of chicken and sliced mushrooms in a butter cream sauce, a hefty helping of white rice, sautéed spinach and cherry tomatoes, and a side of creamed corn. The plate was tasty and flavorful. Each component was honestly good standalone, but they also complimented the overall dish. The chicken was juicy and tender, and I enjoyed the sautéed spinach and creamed corn. The creamed corn was particularly unique. I look forward to trying their other dishes. I had the pleasure of meeting the guys behind Chicken Paddy, who also own Bun Me Up. They are super nice and friendly, and it was cool learning about their background in the restaurant business.

Ever had food so EGG-cellent that you can't stop thinking about it? That's how I feel about these chicken + rice dishes from Chicken Paddy - not only are they absolutely loaded, but I love how deliciously unique and elevated every dish was! Here's what I tried: Soy Garlic Chicken plate: South East Asian inspired chicken braised in a sweet, garlic, soy-based, marinade, sautéed with bell peppers and onions, and served with garlic onion rice, 2 eggs, and fried garlic. Loved how comforting this plate was, and how much it reminded me of my mom's signature home-cooked meals! Personally found the meat in this one a bit tough, but I definitely think it was a fluke/off day since my other plates were fine. Turkish chicken plate: Turkish style chicken marinated in a yogurt herb mix, grilled to order, and served with cilantro lime rice and bbq glazed vegetables with a side of Tzatziki sauce. I loved how refreshing this dish was, especially with the yogurt-based Tzatziki sauce, but definitely don't sleep on how flavorful and tangy the BBQ glazed vegetables are! Highly recommend this dish with how balanced the flavors are! Chicken tikka masala plate: Grilled chicken served in a spiced curry cream sauce, with cilantro lime rice and green onions. The Tikka Masala sauce wasn't the most authentic, but I loved how this dish combined such beautiful fusion flavors, with a decent kick of spice! If you haven't tried Chicken Paddy yet, definitely (s)WING by and CHICK them out at their ghost kitchen location at 949 Ruff Drive in San Jose, and support and Asian owned and operated business!

Really good. Ghost kitchen. Seemed sketch at first driving there but it's a pretty public location. The guy who took my order was super nice. Explained the different foods. Talked up their sister restaurant. Mushroom chicken is what they're famous for so had to try it. And was not disappointed. So good!! Chicken tikka masala also good. Portion size decent. Seemed huge at first sight but it's so good you devour it quickly. I'd like to try more dishes.

came here for a yelp event. so happy i was able to try this place! ordering was super easy, and payments via venmo. i already looked at the menu so i ended up getting chicken mushroom and chicken tikka masala (spicy). both of these dishes were so delicious! and that corn... mmmm mmm! i wish i ordered an extra side of corn! mushroom chicken was just the right amount cream, not overwhelming at all. as for chicken tikka masala, it was so good too. def get it spicy! love that kick! i would def come back here for both dishes with extra side of corn! :)

This was a unique experience because Chicken Paddy is part of a cloud kitchen. They do have some outdoor dining spots available, which was nice for a quick sit down lunch. I could also imagine it being convenient to order with friends if everyone wants something different. Chicken Paddy's menu itself features a bunch of chicken and rice bowls with different ethnicities. I tried the Tikka Masala bowl. I would say the food was good but not super authentic. This isn't the usual thick creamy buttery Tikka masala you'd expect, but a bit more tomato-y. I liked the cilantro rice but the chicken was slightly dry (fwiw though, the chicken in my wife's mushroom cream dish was not). The overall dish was not super heavy and it felt like a good meal when you're looking for something simple and quick. Overall, I would say this food was good but not great. The variety of styles is nice when you're ordering with a big group. Definitely feels more like a meal for someone ordering dinner every night than a foodie looking for the next big hit.

    Jared S.

The Brazilian and Soy Garlic plates are definitely a go-to! There's a nice balance of flavor from the garlic fried rice, to the extras in each bowl. I loved the grilled peppers in the Brazilian plate and my boyfriend thought the seasoned egg tied the Soy Garlic together. It reminded us of asian comfort food from home. The pick-up process was super fast and easy through the onsite locker. And the portion sizes are very generous too - Instant food coma worthy! Can't wait to come again and try the drinks too!

Is Chicken Paddy only open for lunch and not dinner?

We're open for dinner now! Check out our updated hours!

Are there any vegetarian or vegan options available for the main entrees?

Yes, our Crispy Tofu plate is our vegetarian option. It does contain egg however. When some entrees get depleted we temporarily remove them from the menu until restock which is why you don’t see it on there today.

Although it's an online menu, we ordered via the server and food was freshly made. The tables are not big and we had to shuffle dishes around. Food quality wise was not that impressive though. We tried: - coke chicken wing: does not taste like coke chicken wing, lacking the fried element on the outside, more like a sweet soy sauce chicken wing - pan fried buns: ok, has juice inside, but some part of the bun was too hard. - regular XLB: tasted ok as there's soup inside. The wrapping can be thinner. - rainbow XLB: the most disappointed dish. They were almost all broken when we tried to pick them up. The pink one I got was curry beef and it just tasted weird. The green one which we presumed is spinach wrapping is actually a veggie XLB. - Garlic noodle with spam and veg: This is the best dish of all. There are slices of soft mushroom, good garlic flavor, we had spam and cabbage added. $13.60 for plain noodle and toppings such as protein and veg are each $2-$3 on top. -Garlic Kale: also good, chopped garlic brought up good flavors and the kale are fresh. -Ube buns: freshly made and not overly sweet, good size and quality, but 4 for $13.5 is not that affordable. Total damage before tips is $104. I think I still prefer Shanghai #1 for pan fried buns and other Shanghainese dishes.

Unfortunately, this visit left me a bit disappointed. When we walked in on a weekend afternoon, several tables were still dirty from previous customers, which didn't create the best first impression. Every dish is so delish, and the pho isn't made with MSG. I don't think anything there is. Sorry to you MSG lovers but I promise this place won't disappoint (if it does I owe all of ya'll a free bowl of Pho). Jokes aside, this little bistro is nestled in The Plant shopping center, one of my favorite plazas to go and probably would be satisfactory if I was a non-local coming for travel. Parking's a little crazy, but that's because everyone goes there. The way it's decorated inside is SO adorable and well-intentioned. You'll love all the cute little trinkets, wallpaper, and lights. Very chic and expressive, yet comforting and sophisticated. The service is professional, attentive, and friendly. They also have a variety of cool drinks and caffeinated drinks to pick from as well. Safe to say this is officially one of our go-to spots.

The menu is laid out by geographic regions, which I thought was a really neat way to showcase the many different cuisines. We started with summer rolls and calamari, both of which were excellent. The summer rolls were fresh and bright, with a delicious peanut sauce that was among the best my sister (a self-described "Peanut Sauce Snob") and I had ever had. The large pieces of calamari were expertly cooked, still very tender even after frying. There was a hint of spice in the calamari dipping sauce that I quite enjoyed. For entrees, we got Pad Thai, Pad See You, and Panang Curry -- all favorites we've had many places (despite the many alluring new-to-me options, I admit we all defaulted to known quantities) -- and we were impressed across the board. Everything was flavorful, had just the right amount of spice, and came out steaming hot. We really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of this restaurant, which felt lively and friendly. The dishes were well-prepared, flavorful, and thoughtfully presented. The overall ambiance was also enjoyable, making it a nice spot for a dinner out. Unfortunately, the experience took a concerning turn at the end of the meal. Our bill came out to $86.42, and I handed my credit card to the waiter. Within seconds (thanks to my card alerts), I received a notification that $103.92 had been charged. When the waiter returned with the receipt, there was no mention of any discrepancy. After waiting a few minutes to see if it would be addressed, I brought it up myself. The waiter appeared flustered and then claimed he had accidentally charged me for someone else's food. That explanation didn't align with the itemized bill I was given, which made the situation feel questionable. He assured me that it would be corrected and that I should see the adjustment in a few days, which I'll be watching closely. Mistakes can happen, but the lack of transparency and the fact that it wasn't proactively disclosed is what left a bad impression. Being overcharged without explanation -- and having to catch it myself -- is not something I expect when dining out. I'd consider coming back for the food, but I'd definitely be more cautious when it comes to the bill.

Final Thoughts: 2.50/5…read more My girlies and I went here for a simple dinner and to try it out. Very Asian fusion, specifically French-Vietnamese. Seems fine-ish dining vibes with the dim lights and modern interior that they have. While the whole experience itself was quite nice, the food is not the best and perhaps should still be in the works. It leans so much on trying to be Asian fusion, but the execution isn't there yet for me. Will push the 3 star today given the overall experience we had. Food: Prime Rib Phở (NO MSG): 3.0/5 This was the entrée that we shared. They give around 3 to 5 pieces of meat, which isn't the most ideal thing to see. The meat is tender though, so that's a plus. Given the cut of it, I really wouldn't expect anything less of this though. Speaking of see though, the presentation lacks a lot for me. There wasn't too much color in the bowl. Really just broth, the noodles, and the meat placed on top. Essentially that's all it is, but there's no pop of anything to it. The flavor of the broth is quite good though. It's a lighter, but deep flavor. Will attribute this to some kind of bone meat that they used versus loading it with MSG. The noodles were overcooked and more on the soft side for me. Not much of a bite overall. Grilled Pork Spring Rolls: 1.5/5 This was really underwhelming for me. The grilled pork was nothing extravagant. Crispy eggroll wrapper roll inside was stale. Lacking in body and shape. Each of the rolls were really small and thin and lacking a lot of the filling. Usually I find that other places will overstuff it with vermicelli and vegetables because those are the more inexpensive ingredients in the roll. Here, the proportions were balanced in a sense, but lacking in size. Their sauce is what gets me. I can understand the experimentation, but I do prefer the typical sauce that is used. Perhaps doing a variation of this sauce may be better versus changing it to a completely different sauce. This sauce was a spicy kaffir lime leaf sauce and the tartness and sour flavor just overwhelmed the whole dish, so it became less appetizing for me. Belgian Fries: 3.5/5 These were honestly my favorite item here. Umm...I can't say they're anything extravagant. They were super crispy and the right size for me. Some potato without being too starchy on the inside. The sauce is a truffle aioli and that was truly the star of the show. Most of the rating will be regarding the dipping sauce. It was very rich and the flavors were very balanced. The combination of the truffle with the garlic flavor contributes really well to the dish. Honestly comparable to Cajun fries. Shrimp Mango Ceviche: 2.0/5 Fourth item was also not my favorite at all. The curing sauce was just so tart and sour that it took so much away from the dish itself. Aesthetic wise, was very underwhelming. In my opinion, this would have looked better served inside of a rounder bowl?? versus a shallow plate. The plate just makes it look half eaten given the serving size. The chips were just chips, so nothing extravagant. Balance of shrimp to vegetables appears appropriate though. --------- Quality: Fresh The food items did come out hot. The fries were crispy. They claim their pho broth takes hours to make and I can only take their word from that. Waiters and waitresses seem genuine, so I shall trust them on that. Food appears to be fresh, so no concerns here. Price: Quite steep; $$$ The prices here are quite steep. With what I was served, the prices seem to lean more on the expensive side. I can understand that some ingredients are more pretentious, but I really can't say I would pay this much for what was served. Range is around $8 to $16 for smaller dishes and $20 to $40 for the entrees. Service: Amazing; A+ The service that we were provided today was amazing. The waitress and waiters are very nice and super attentive. They checked on us a few times after all the foods came out and refilled our waters as needed. When we were deciding what foods to order, they were also really patient in going through some of the food choices with us. Ambiance: Fine dining vibes The space really isn't that big and there are really only a few tables inside. The space is big and the ceilings are high, which again, leads me to feel that this place has the fine dining vibes. Interior is quite dim lit and has this calming and warm vibe to it. Location/Parking: Downtown Area/Parking Downtown San Jose is probably all I need to say for people to understand what I mean. IFKYK kind of a deal. I can't say the location is in a bad place per se because it is around this line of other restaurants and stores. The parking is terrible though and perhaps you will find yourself paring at the parking structures for a more affordable cost or a closer one for a more expensive price. The parking lot I chose is free for the first 90 minutes and then they start charging. For one of the closest parking lots, my friend paid $20+ for her ticket.

It is a tiny restaurant nestled in between CVS and another business, I forget what. But there is a tree blocking their signage and the additional small stand-up sign barely draws enough attention to the location. Restaurant is small, but the service is prompt and friendly. You order through a QR code on the table and all mobile devices ordering from the same table will have their orders consolidated. Beef Udon stir fry is tasty, but as many have said, on the sweeter side. Loooooove the texture and chew of the udon noodles. Very springy, almost like korean rice cakes or gnocchi. Sake chirashi bowl was delicious too. Would be nice if the wasabi was on the side. My daughter loves sashimi but can't handle when the wasabi touches the fish. Too spicy for her. Freshness of the fish is good. It's not the luxury cut of salmon, but the quality is still very worthwhile. Can't go wrong with Cali Roll, sweet potato fries, and spring rolls (fried egg rolls). Kids gobbled them right up. My bestie also ordered a sizzling plate which she finished just as quickly. Definitely RECOMMEND this spot for small get togethers, party of 5 or less. They may not have much in sushi variety, but what they dish up, they serve with pride with modest prices. Cheers to the sweet woman who gave our kids lollipops after their meal. Very family friendly.

I tried this place a few months after to moving into the area. I was craving some Asian fusion type…read morefood, and this place seemed like the spot. The location is somewhat buried in the mall, and you have to look for it. The ambience is simple, and a bit dark, probably because the location is buried in the back of the mall, but its very clean and organized and not cluttered. The people and service is good. Pretty basic but friendly. I first came here to have Chicken Katsu. It was flavorful and the meat was tender. The sauce hit the spot and and satisfying. I plan to go back and try their sushi and ramen. The location is close to my home, which is a bonus for me. They are typically not very busy, i believe because most customers get their food to go. I did notice a lot of to go orders. Overall I think this place has great Asian food and great service. I plan to trey other dishes to get a better sense of their overall food experience.
