Dive bar ambience in the middle of Sun Prairie. Big crowd even on the weekday, shoutout to the bartenders who keep up with everything from taking orders to serving drinks. We got 3 different flavors of wings to try: original, dry rub, and bbq. Bbq and dry rub were good, but original tastes like buffalo (pretty tangy and spicy). Wings were not as crispy as I thought. Onion rings were delicious. The foods took a while to get out, so expect to wait or just chat with your friends.

This spot serves up the best chicken in Dane County--hands down. Made to order, perfectly crispy, and packed with flavor. But let's talk about that blue cheese... I dream about it! The chunks of blue cheese are amazing, and it's easily one of the best I've ever had. The breading and sauces are on point, and I love that it's a hole-in-the-wall kind of place--clean, cozy, great service and giving small-town bar vibes with top-tier wings. A must-visit for wing lovers!

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. This place was really busy. Original wings had excellent flavors. Chicken poboy was my favorite item here. Waffle fries and tater tots were both really good sides.

My son and I came here for a late lunch to check out this place that has been on my bucket list for a couple of years. I am sad to say that I haven't come here sooner! The wings are absolutely superb, and we loved the buffalo, however, we wished we would've asked about the original sauce before ordering. It seems that it is a housemaid, spicier version of the buffalo - which we would have appreciated! Ranch was good, seemed like it was homemade. We didn't try the buffalo but apparently it's liked well enough to sell it by the pint! My rail drink was $2.75 during happy hour, which was cheaper than my son soda! Heavy pours, and super friendly Bartenders round out a great experience! I can see why it expanded to a chain! Sometimes there's no reason to have an extensive menu if what you do is really good. Chicken licks is no exception to that rule. I cannot wait to bring back my husband For happy hour! Also, my son and I were truly digging the old school jukebox that still plays a variety of music for $.25!

We had takeout from Chicken Licks and the food was just ok. The fries and onion rings were good, but the tenders and wings were nothing special. I can't comment on service as we didn't eat in. I like the dive bar vibes, so I would love to go back and try the food again!

Apparently a group of 7 people is overwhelmingly large and we were informed we should call ahead if we intend to arrive in a large group.

Are they taking to-go orders for chicken wings during Covid-19?

I believe they are closed and remodeling.

Parking extended into the adjacent businesses, but overall plenty of space Food 4/5: we got cheese curds and spinach dip for apps. The cheese curds were disappointing for being in Wisconsin. They were clearly the frozen kind and not freshly battered like many other places serve in the area. They were ok. The spinach dip is the star of the show. I love that they put tomatoes in it to give it extra veggies and the overall flavor is salty yet balanced. We got the Mau wowi, maple bacon, and Mac and cheese pizzas. Overall the Maui wowi and maple bacon had a salty sweet match up that brought the best umami. The Mac and cheese is just ok. Service 4/5: our waiter lacked personality but was overall great. Very attentive, continued to ask about drinks, and was prompt with the check when we asked. Ambiance 5/5: this place is huge. Overall adequate room between tables. Great space and wasn't too loud like some places can get. If you like a lot of options with your pizza between toppings and crust, this is a great place to try. They also have a large beer/wine/drink menu.

An employee brought out my order and then told me they were out of the Hot Honey sauce, asking if I wanted something else. At first, I assumed he meant they didn't have enough sauce for my side order, but instead I was handed a box of plain wings. I immediately requested a refund and went inside to speak with the manager. Unfortunately, the customer service was just as disappointing as the order. I asked why no one had called to let me know they were out of the sauce before preparing my order, and the manager simply replied, "Yeah, someone should have called you," handed me my refund receipt, and that was the end of the conversation. There was no apology, no empathy, and no attempt to make the situation right. Mistakes happen, but communication and customer service make all the difference. A simple phone call could have saved me the trip and the wait.

While its name implies a heavy beer presence, they have a very expansive and impressive bourbon and rye lineup, which is nicely priced. They also have a cool collection of old bourbon barrels from local and KY distilleries. The food menu is more or less what one would expect from a WI brewpub. We had Brussels and a sausage and mushroom pizza. Skipped the basal added garlic. Both were decent but for my taste under seasoned. The staff were really nice and helpful. It's worth checking out and I'd likely go back.

I will continue to frequent Full Mile and just not order the fish fry. Which brings me to the point that I really disliked the fish fry. We started with an order of cheese curds because a friend said they were her favorite in the area. Good, gooey white cheese but I actually did not love the breading. It felt like the same breading used on the fish and I thought it was greasy and without flavor. Definitely not a fan, but obviously many others are. The fish was very large, and two pieces was enough for leftovers (usually I need 3 pieces for leftovers). But again, I thought the beer batter/breading was greasy and not very flavorful. The fish fry also comes with the saddest excuse of a lemon wedge. It was so small I had to jam my finger into the flesh of the lemon just to try and get some juice to fall. So that was another blow to the fish flavor. But just because I don't like their fish fry doesn't mean I won't be back. My 4-star rating remains. I like their other food and it is definitely worth checking out for yourself to decide.

The immediate area, which is downtown Sun Prairie was super cool and cute. Lots of shared spaces and mixed use buildings that included the building Nitty Gritty sits in. There are a few Nitty Gritty's scattered across the Madison area, but my buddy recommended this location due to convenience. We popped in on night 2 of the NFL draft, which is why we bellied up to a high top in the bar area. Nitty Gritty is more sports bar than anything, but if the bar is not your scene, they have several dining spaces inside and out. We started with a couple of beers and cocktails, and while we reviewed the dedicated "birthday shot book", we decided to stick with standard drinks...but the birthday shot thing is apparently a big deal here! My buddy went local beer from the tap and I went gin & tonic. Bad call on my part, as even though that is a basic cocktail, this is not a cocktail bar. The drink was not good, so second round I went Spotted Cow as well. All was right in the world in that moment. For food, we went quintessential bar food with wings and burgers. My buddy got the Smokehouse Burger, which is their house-bbq burger served on Texas toast. He sided it with the fries and noted that both were decent, not great, but also not terrible. Both lacked seasoning, especially the burger patty itself. I opted for the wings, black and blue dry rub to be specific. The wings were good size and fried well, very crispy and meaty for a wing. The seasoning, while present, was not very flavorful. I expected a bit more from a Cajun based rub. Food wise, it was just okay. Service was a hit and miss throughout the evening. While the place was not busy, the service was a bit slow for the amount of staff we noticed. We waited on refills and re-orders a bit longer than normal, especially sitting the bar area. This location has been here for a while and it shows in parts of the building interior and exterior. While conditionally certain areas need some love, the spaces were all clean and well kept. Overall, Nitty Gritty was okay. Seemed like your standard local sports bar with mid-level food and service. With that being said, I may be interested in spending time here for a birthday given that shot book!

They were hot and cheesy with a nice crispy texture. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and chips it was okay. A bit dry though.
