First of all, we got here at 6 pm on a Saturday and were told for a table of 2 it would be a half an hour wait which we had no problem with. About 16 minutes later our table was ready which was great. Our waiter was in the top 5 for worst waiter I have ever had. He would literally point at things and never speak. At one point he pointed at my empty plate but he was asking if I needed water. When he brought our food out he handed me my plate instead of setting it down in front of me. He had the personality of a saltine cracker - I never saw him smile once. Not personable at all. Definitely needs some training in customer service.

    Mac Daddy & Buffalo Chicken

I've been visiting my sister for over a decade and have always noticed this pizza spot--but finally gave it a try, and I'm kicking myself for not going sooner. The pizza was absolutely delicious, with generous toppings and a perfectly made crust. We were torn between two specialty pizzas, and our server helpfully suggested we split them half and half--such a great option! We ended up trying the Mac Daddy and the Buffalo Chicken, and while both were solid, the Buffalo Chicken was the clear standout. Honestly, it's one of the best versions I've ever had. The dough was excellent, and even the leftovers held up beautifully the next day. On top of the great food, the service was friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town.

What a pleasant surprise I ordered the gouda bites nice tasty fried cheese. The Maple Bacon pizza hand tossed crust was recommended by Pearl the bartender and what a great tasting pizza it was unique from anything I had before Excellent service and a great beer selection I will return to try more

Great pizza. We went for a weekday lunch. Our server was distracted but it may be due to him being the only one, but they weren't busy. That said, the pizza was really good. We customized ours so it was pricey but well worth it. Drinks were reasonably priced. We will dine here again.

This is a great place for a large menu/ lots of different options. One of my favorite pizza places. This is my favorite place for hand tossed pizza. All of the pizzas have a perfect amount of toppings, and they were all well balanced. Overall there is never a miss on any pizza I've gotten here, and the appetizers are also delicious. The food is always served quickly, and the service is always friendly. I loved the sweet treat, cinnamon nuggets. Portions are huge and prices are inexpensive. There was live music tonight, and I appreciated how it wasn't too loud but just loud enough to enjoy. Lighting and seating are great, with many places to sit with large groups.

Finally went to the delicious Sugar River Pizza! It was a surprisingly calm night with few people, and we enjoyed our food, drinks, and desserts. Our server was very nice and welcoming, the pizza and salads were excellent and oh my goodness, get the peanut butter pie and roll yourself out the door -- holy goodness that dessert is a top 10 for me. We had pretzel bites which were amazing, although they kind of sit in the butter pooled under them. The Hawaiian pizza was delicious, pineapple does in fact belong on pizza. I had the Asian chicken salad and was very happy with the portions and quality. The peanut butter pie was absolutely outstanding. I would drive the 25 minutes from my apartment just to order that dessert. It is incredible, I'm still thinking about it days later. Get one for the table! The ambiance isn't much to speak of, there's not a ton of decor or a theme going. The bathrooms were nice, but watch out, the foamy soap comes directly at you!

We got a garden salad with ranch and a BYO pizza with sausage, onion, mushroom. Loved the fresh, local ingredients! Seemed it was some sort of trivia night (busy!!) but we got a table without a wait & food came out quick & fresh. Will stop again!

After hearing some decent reviews, my better half and I decided to stop in when we were in the area. The location is definitely built for a crowd as it spacious but lacks any real charm. A very expansive tap list (probably close to 50) is notable. We were in the witching hour between lunch and dinner and our waitstaff was a little brusque. We ordered the stuffed cheese bread along with an amazon deluxe pizza. They were fine. Definitely not noteworthy or something we would purposefully come back for. An option if you were hungry and needed a quick bite or a few beers.

We came on a trivia night but wouldn't know. Immediately greeted and sat. Our drinks were slowly served and our food took a while (20+ minutes) my food order was incorrect and had to be sent back. The server was very apologetic. My drink couldn't be made because they were out of a key ingredient. Not a big deal but an inconvenience. Overall the food was good and worth the wait. Would come back to try more things on the menu.

Stop by this place for dinner with family. What a cute sit down restaurant. Our server was very attentive but I didn't catch her name. We had a party of 7 and it was easy to get a table since it wasn't that full for a Thursday night. We ended up ordering onion rings and spinach and artichoke dip as our appetizers and 3 different kinds of pizza--Mediterranean, Garden Bella with added pineapples, and Amazon deluxe on a gluten free crust. Everything was so delicious. Would definitely come back again for their pizza and to try other things on the menu.

Best kept happy hour! Monday - Friday 2:30-5:30 all apps (excluding wings and tenders) are half off. I will never turn down a pizza here though, try the creamy pesto...it's the best I've had! As much as love SRP, the service is hit or miss, which is why the 4 stars. Sometimes things are fast and well-oiled, other times you could wait an hour to get an appetizer. Today our waitress never checked back after our food and we both needed refills on our sodas. I've had several meals made wrong, or even forgotten, and not given a comp, offered to make right, or much of an apology. I've eaten here a lot in the last two years and the food outweighs the potentially bad service.

I don't throw this around lightly, but that was one of the most delicious sandwiches I have eaten in my life. The smoke was deep, the ham was tender, and the mac and cheese on top was a legitimately inspired move. Absolutely killer combination. Having spent 25 years in the military, I lived all over the country and had some genuinely exceptional barbecue along the way. Places that locals swear by. Regional legends. All of it. Primal 'Cue still stands out as one of my all-time favorite barbecue spots. That says everything. Everything this place puts out is on point. Same goes for those holding a tab at the bar (take a number and bring it back when you reorder). I am not sure how the sound level is on a non game night but Primal Cue could benefit from sound deadening panels on the ceiling as it became quite loud with sound ricoheting off the metal roof and hard surfaces. The food we tried was excellent-pulled pork, tri-tip (wed & thurs), and the cheesy potatoes. Ordered by the quarter pound, the meat was well smoked and tender, They have a well stocked bar with some solid beers on tap to choose from although $8 for an Eagle Park seemed a bit steep. I thought the food was priced fairly for the quality and skill used to prepare it. Not often in the Prairie of the Sun but love to come back to try their brisket-the true measuring stick to a legit bbq place (in my opinion). Definitely encourage others to stop in-some of the best in the Madison area.

I will continue to frequent Full Mile and just not order the fish fry. Which brings me to the point that I really disliked the fish fry. We started with an order of cheese curds because a friend said they were her favorite in the area. Good, gooey white cheese but I actually did not love the breading. It felt like the same breading used on the fish and I thought it was greasy and without flavor. Definitely not a fan, but obviously many others are. The fish was very large, and two pieces was enough for leftovers (usually I need 3 pieces for leftovers). But again, I thought the beer batter/breading was greasy and not very flavorful. The fish fry also comes with the saddest excuse of a lemon wedge. It was so small I had to jam my finger into the flesh of the lemon just to try and get some juice to fall. So that was another blow to the fish flavor. But just because I don't like their fish fry doesn't mean I won't be back. My 4-star rating remains. I like their other food and it is definitely worth checking out for yourself to decide.

The immediate area, which is downtown Sun Prairie was super cool and cute. Lots of shared spaces and mixed use buildings that included the building Nitty Gritty sits in. There are a few Nitty Gritty's scattered across the Madison area, but my buddy recommended this location due to convenience. We popped in on night 2 of the NFL draft, which is why we bellied up to a high top in the bar area. Nitty Gritty is more sports bar than anything, but if the bar is not your scene, they have several dining spaces inside and out. We started with a couple of beers and cocktails, and while we reviewed the dedicated "birthday shot book", we decided to stick with standard drinks...but the birthday shot thing is apparently a big deal here! My buddy went local beer from the tap and I went gin & tonic. Bad call on my part, as even though that is a basic cocktail, this is not a cocktail bar. The drink was not good, so second round I went Spotted Cow as well. All was right in the world in that moment. For food, we went quintessential bar food with wings and burgers. My buddy got the Smokehouse Burger, which is their house-bbq burger served on Texas toast. He sided it with the fries and noted that both were decent, not great, but also not terrible. Both lacked seasoning, especially the burger patty itself. I opted for the wings, black and blue dry rub to be specific. The wings were good size and fried well, very crispy and meaty for a wing. The seasoning, while present, was not very flavorful. I expected a bit more from a Cajun based rub. Food wise, it was just okay. Service was a hit and miss throughout the evening. While the place was not busy, the service was a bit slow for the amount of staff we noticed. We waited on refills and re-orders a bit longer than normal, especially sitting the bar area. This location has been here for a while and it shows in parts of the building interior and exterior. While conditionally certain areas need some love, the spaces were all clean and well kept. Overall, Nitty Gritty was okay. Seemed like your standard local sports bar with mid-level food and service. With that being said, I may be interested in spending time here for a birthday given that shot book!
