I'm from KC but haven't had a chance to visit this chain before- something about the names of the mule and the burger gave me a little pang of homesickness. The ribs were good- served with a thin bbq sauce that was heavy on the pepper, most of the ribs were nice and meaty. The sweet potato fries were good as well- they serve Kensington ketchup, which is a little more peppery and has a different texture than the usual, I do recommend that over the honey mustard as a dipping sauce. The honey mustard was pretty heavy on the horseradish. My husband got the slider variety. The burger had a thousand island based sauce on it that made it a little different from the usual burger. The regular chicken sandwich had a lemony flavor to it. I preferred the hot chicken sandwich- the heat creeped up on you but it was good! Their chicken was super thick and juicy- probably my favorite part of the meal. The fry portions were huge. Service at the counter and at the table was very sweet and helpful. She even brought us some ketchup packets to take home so we could see what kind of ketchup they served. Loved the giant pickleballs in the stairwell- what a cute decor choice! We didn't get to play any games since it was snowing, but I would absolutely recommend this place for an event. I am definitely coming back for a newbie pickleball night! read more

I was hoping Chicken N Pickle would be worthy of the long distance drive I had to make. Came here for a group Bday celebration. It is pretty standard set up like you would expect from a place like such (think bowling alleys, Top Golf, Dave & Buster, etc.) although Chicken N Pickle is HUGE, I almost got lost exploring the place. This is their advantage because you can hang out inside or outside depending on your mood! Inside is obviously where the pickleball courts are. For a large place, I feel there still isn't enough courts. And the courts are too close to each other. When you have recreational family playing who has never played before, half the time is spent on picking up each other's ball from across the courts! The food was ok, nothing to write home about, including the chicken. One nice thing about them is that they did allow us to bring a cake to celebrate the birthdays. Very excited to see ping pong tables out in the lawn area. Though the tables and paddles are terrible, not the standard ping pong materials. Needless to say, when the ball lands on the lawn, there's no bounce. So they should really switch up the placement of the sports and have ping pong be indoors (players will thank you on those windy days) and more outdoor pickleball courts. read more

First time coming to a pickle ball business and it did not disappoint. Came with a group of 7 people on a Sunday at 12pm. We made a reservation before hand which is necessary as the place was pretty busy. Service was great. Our server came by frequently to check on us. Only disappointing thing was no regular food until 1:30 pm. The ability to rent balls and paddles for only $1 is a great feature. Chicken N Pickle was one of the more interesting places I have been to recently. You can rent out a pickle ball court by the hour and go grab a bite of food after. They also have free shuffle board, ping pong, and giant connect 4. So if you're looking for a place to eat with a lot of entertainment, this might be the place for you. Now for the food: I had the trio, which was a regular chicken sandwich, a spicy chicken sandwich, and a burger. I wasn't really a fan of the regular chicken sandwich or the burger,but the spicy chicken sandwich was decent and the sweet potato fries it came with were good as well. They also use some kind of spicy ketchup and that went really well with the fries. The service was fast and the employees were very helpful. Overall, my favorite part is the entertainment. I have been here many times now. It is my favorite pickleball spot! We had a larger group this time and many were new. Even though some of us new how to play it would have been very helpful to have a staff member explain the game to the newbies. The food is always great! I saved up my calories so I could try some new dishes! Delicious. The service was a tad lacking this time around. I prefer the flags that were up before, because we had to keep waving down servers to order anything and didn't have the same person help us more than twice. Seems a bit messy, the flags I think were the way to go. :) The vibe is great, there is so much to do from paid pickleball to the free games they have around the buildings. Good spot to watch the game and spend time with some friends. Look forward to coming here in summer. I hosted a work event at Chicken N Pickle in Thornton for 35 people, and everything was fantastic! The event was very well-organized, the food was ready on time, and the courts were prepared perfectly. The real highlights were the servers, Lily and Ryan. They were incredibly attentive, kind, and provided some of the best service I've ever experienced. I was genuinely impressed and very grateful for their help in making our event run so smoothly. Wife and visited. A lot more to do here than just pickleball. They have giant battleship game, corn hole, foosball tables and other games. Great place to watch your favorite sporting event on tv as well, tv are scattered through you. Will come back for the next televised game I want to watch. read more

We brought our two dogs and we sat outside. They brought us a fresh clean bowl and took very good care of us. The manager treated us like family we went on a Sunday and they had brunch. Went to Chicken N Pickle because some out of town friends recommended it. The downside- music was so loud we could not hear each other speaking and we were outside on the terrace upstairs. Ended up going inside to ask someone to turn the music down and they did a bit, but it really was blaring. The speakers were hooked up to a bingo game downstairs as well and so that also added to the noise. We were looking for table tennis/ping pong and had such a hard time finding it across the area, so bless you Chicken n Pickle! FINALLY! We had the rotisserie chicken & an order of tots which were so good! i wish the chicken came with 2 jalapeños! The deviled eggs were decent. The actual place is pretty spread out and i imagine they get busy on weekends or for special events. Tons of tables and good places to hang out. The both table tennis tables are located in the middle of 2 sets of Adirondack chairs. which is a bit awkward...the number of times we hit the ball towards the chairs is embarrassing to admit. it'd be great if they moved them a bit. read more

Fun spot that's good for the whole family in Thornton! Came here with friends who have little kids and they were able to have just as much fun as us. Great outdoor patio for the summer. We had to send back a beer that we ordered and the wrong thing was brought out. Then we had to also send back our food because I ordered a chicken sandwich and was given a kids small cheeseburger. My wife and I visited the other day for the first time. Scott aka Bob Mercury was a phenomenal bartender. We picked apart the drink menu as we do with every new bar we go to. She first ordered the Paloma and I had the Blackberry Margarita. We are both big tequila drinkers and Scott executed both exceptionally well. Next we tried the Old Fashioned and Espresso Martini. Again, nothing short of spectacular. Even though the cocktails were great, Scott made the whole experience that much better. Y'all are beyond lucky to have such an awesome bartender. The pickleball itself was great. The courts were nice, paddles were great, and really enjoyed that part. However the low rating is because the rest of the experience. We went upstairs for food and then learned we couldn't order food from the server but instead needed to go back down stairs and order at the counter. We got the biscuits and gravy but the biscuits were like a veggie biscuit and we're not very good however the gravy was great. The breakfast burrito was good but the cheese on the top was a bit too much. Staff were nice but seemed under trained and didn't know much about their menu items. I used to work at the original KC location 5+ years ago. This..... is my FAV location!!!!So nice!!!! Food was fast and delicious. Can't go wrong with bills chicken salad! I love getting the fries with street corn toppings. I shared some tostadas with my friends, I love the carnitas. Best chicken you can get anywhere!! The jerk seasoning is great on the wings. We went to try out the outdoor area. I can't speak to the pickle game part. There were a lot of places to sit outside. Thankfully big umbrellas to sit under. We played ping pong and connect 4 but there was also battleship. It was nice to chill. There was a brunch from 9-2 on Sunday. Adults are $26 and kids 6-12 are $6 then under 5 eat free! It looked to have a wide variety but we opted to wait until the 1:30 mark where they start to serve lunch. We got kids grilled cheese and chicken tenders, wings and the beet salad. Overall the food was just ok. I would not get the chicken wings again. I'd go back for the outdoor area since it's so kid and dog friendly! Not so much to eat though. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with our experience at Chicken N Pickle. We planned to celebrate my 40th birthday there and, based on what an employee told us ahead of time, we purchased $400 worth of gift cards to use toward the celebration. We were never told there would be any restrictions. When we arrived, we were informed that because my birthday was considered an "event," they would not allow us to use the gift cards as payment. This was never disclosed when we specifically asked about purchasing gift cards for the occasion. Had we known there were restrictions, we would not have bought them. It's frustrating to be encouraged to buy gift cards and then be told you can't use them. Policies should be clearly communicated upfront, especially when customers are spending hundreds of dollars based on the guidance of your staff. Unfortunately, what should have been a fun 40th birthday celebration turned into a stressful and disappointing experience. I hope management reconsiders this policy or, at the very least, ensures employees are properly informing customers before they make large purchases. read more

The pickleball courts are well maintained and there are other activities outside as well. There is a rooftop bar and the service was pretty good. We were asked several times how things were and if we needed anything by multiple employees. The food was mediocre and expensive like everywhere else in Denver. We got smoked chicken and the dry rub looked mummified it was dry. The mango habanero sauce chicken was good. The rotisserie chicken and ribs were decent as well, but it was served with a flour tortilla that was burnt. The best item that we ordered was the fried chicken and waffles. There was caramelized sugar in or on the waffles that was a surprise, but to add the maple syrup would have given me diabetes. I have never been to a place where we have been actively ignored for so long by the staff. Long story short we sat around for 45 minutes trying to order drinks and food and were told every time "I'll send someone over" by multiple different staff only to then be ignored by said staff after approaching them. We went at 4p on a Sunday - plenty of open tables and available servers and yet we couldn't be helped. Crazy. The Bill's salad is good with fresh fried chicken, however the fried pickles that were hot were nasty. They were so oily. Not at all a good fried pickle that would be expected. Now I know not to get the pickles. I have only gotten the Bill's salad when we have eaten here. I figured it's a safe option that I will like. The service is not the greatest. Went with a group of 12 to play from 4:00-6:00 on three reserved courts. The courts were great but the music was way too loud. You couldn't even hear the score. From about 4:00 - 4:15, the music was fine and then they cranked it up. I had gone five days earlier and the music was fine. We recently attended a soft opening event. The ambiance is stellar. So many different spaces to hang out. Both outdoor and indoor pickleball courts, yard games, rooftop deck, indoor and outdoor eating spaces. Service was great, all staff were extra attentive. Food and drinks were fantastic .
