If I'm somewhere, anywhere and there's a place with chicken in the name, there is a 100% percent chance that I am going to eat there, hungry or not. I was towards the end of my trip to the outlet and wanted a bite to eat when I stumbled into the food court and found Chicken Now! This place didn't have a line when I approached and that was perfect for me. The sign said that they had the best chicken fingers so I immediately knew I needed to try them, and so I did. The food did not take very long to come out and they were served with French fries when they were done. The chicken fingers were as mediocre as they could of been, basically tasting like any generic chicken tender could taste (not bad, just far from the best). The French fries were pretty good and had a bit of a unique flavoring to them, and the free toast on the side was a nice plus. Overall, I would return to a Chicken Now in the future to try something else. The food court itself was nice, the staff was friendly, and I was in and out pretty quick. This place is hideous on many levels. It's slogan is "no bones, no bull, the world's best tenders". Ok so let's start with the name, Chicken Now. If "now" means 20 minutes then ok but they should have called it "Chicken in 20". Then there's the slogan, "no bones...etc", so I'm thinking I would love to try some of the world's best tenders with some buffalo sauce. No such luck. "There is no buffalo sauce but you can buy some buffalo wings", says the completely disinterested server at the counter. Ok so I buy some buffalo wings and they look nothing like the picture. Just a pile of wings in a box, no celery, no blue cheese dressing, just a pile of buffalo wings. I return to the counter and at least claim my blue cheese dressing. Then it occurs to me. Why can't they just put some buffalo sauce in a container and offer it with their boneless tenders? And why didn't I just confront the server with that exact idea in the first place? Well, too late. I like to give a positive rating for customer service. Sadly, my customer service experience deserves no rating in my eyes today. Unfortunately, I have to rate it to send review. I am a Direct Support Professional. I went up to a cashier at the Chicken Now restaurant at the Merrimack Outlets. I politely asked for a styrofoam tray. The cashier and the manager refused to give me a styrofoam tray. I decided to speak to the manager why I needed a styrofoam tray due to the individual inability to eat without it. The manager was going to charge me for it. So sad. The manager also told me, "Go try somewhere else." Again, this is so sad to see and hear their inability to be compassionate and empathic for others. This was the worse customer service I've ever experienced. And I will not return. read more

I'm not sure why one would order anything that isn't chicken tenders here. That's the whole point of this restaurant. And their chicken tenders are marvelous. Yes, the service is a little slow--the cashiers never seem to have any sense of urgency, but the food is all cooked to-order, which is probably part of why it's so tasty. The chicken tenders are hand-breaded and very fresh, with good flavor. They are moist, juicy, and crisp on the outside. The fries are standard fast food fries, but they are nice and crispy since they are cooked fresh. I can't say I'm a fan of the Texas toast, but I never am anyway. I substitute the cole slaw for the toast, and it's good cole slow. Some of the best to be had in a fast food place, actually. It too seems to be freshly-prepared in-house, and chopped by hand. UGH! 15 minute wait for a grilled cheese kids meal and a potato bowl with chicken!!! OVERPRICED for a kids meal that includes a tiny sandwich with a tiny portion of fries...not that I want my kid to overeat but DROP the damn price for what you are giving the customer! $5.99 with tax is way too much for what they give you. The potato bowl with chicken has corn on it and shredded cheese....it is over $6 and NOT worth the price...the potatoes are flavorless, the chicken tiny in portion and typical fried chicken patty chopped up with a SMIDGEN of shredded cheese! Did he hurt his hand the cook and couldnt grab more? And the corn had me on the toilet the whole next day. What a waste of money! Not many choices at the food court here so your options are slight...seems the owners of this place own the chinese place too.....do yourself a favor.....EAT at an outside restaurant before or after you go the outlets..... DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! My potato bowl SAT on the window for over 5 minutes WHILE they cooked the Grilled cheese sandwich and fries! Yes, it was warm only when I got it....NOT worth the wait..... There was a line waiting for the food......they can take your order but NOT Deliver service and food.....the guy on the register was not very pro-active in getting a side of gravy for me....he looked at the register to see if he could ORDER IT????? FOR GOD SAKE, just go around a foot away and yell at the guy in the kitchen to send some out... Yes I got the gravy and it was GROSS and flavorless...tasted like fried chicken grease! When I have eaten at this restaurant for the first time, it was okay, and that is all there is to this restaurant. Whenever I get the tender box, it is always just "okay." I have also got a chicken sandwich once, and it was just okay. This food court restaurant is just okay. The only thing I actually liked, however, was the fries. My husband and I went to the Merrimack Outlets for the first time today. Had we known the choices of food available, we would have eaten before we arrived. We decided to try Chicken Now because the line wasn't too long, and how bad can a chicken sandwich be? Well we found out. This is the worst place I have ever eaten. I got the chicken caesar wrap with a side of coleslaw. The coleslaw was swimming in the dressing. It was disgusting to look at, but I tried it anyways. It lacked the crispness and crunch I like from a good coleslaw. I could only take three bites. The wrap was huge, mainly due to the amount of lettuce they put in it. The dressing tasted and smelled like something you would get at McDonald's. It was awful! My husband had the spicy chicken sandwich. He said it was ok, but his French fries were undercooked, over-seasoned, pale and limp - so gross! The only reason I am giving this one star is because the staff was very friendly, helpful and appeared to be well-trained in customer service -something that seems to be rather rare in this day and age. read more

Chicken Now just recently opened, as did the rest of the Merrimack Premium Outlet. And as such, it was quite busy. The food court could be a better design. The outlet mall itself is an open air concept. Great idea, except this is New Hampshire, where is snows. But it's summer right now and everything is nice still. But I digress. The line path that the mall has chosen for the food court is, shall we say, uh... Poor. Yes, poor is a good word to use. Once through the line, ordering is just as straight forward as any other food court counter. Chicken Now prides itself on the fact that it's food is prepared fresh. Wonderful in the food service industry. I commend them for this. And the food was indeed fresh and piping hot. However, in a food court, with lines as... exquisitely designed as these, this leads towards an ever growing cluster of people hanging out at that end of the line, and totally obscuring where the front of the line actually is, that it can be quite frustrating. Almost everyone who wanted to get in line had to ask where the line actually formed, and those at the end, waiting for food stood patiently (read as growing ever more hungry) were letting people know of the average wait time. At one point those of us at the end, waiting for our food, cheered as one of us had our number called and they were able to receive their food. Again, in fairness, this new Mall did just open, and it was a beautiful Saturday at lunchtime. So this may have accounted for some of the crowding issues. My wife and I decided to try their chicken tender box. (three piece for those who are curious) Once ordered, our food arrived promptly (by sundial) 16 minutes later. My wife had found us a table inside (Half the tables are outside for those who like to dine Al fresco. Again, great in the summer, but should be really interesting when it's cold and raining, or snowing. Having navigated the throngs of people attempting to get in line and the decidedly miniscule space that the mall has designed between the tables, where, when patrons are sitting and eating, you can not pass, I arrived at the table my wife had sat at. Our food, packaged in environment friendly Styrofoam boxes, was piping hot and fresh. (Plus for the food) The food itself was quite good. The coleslaw was fresh, crisp, and had a good bite to it. My mashed potatoes, (Mashed with skins) were very tasty, had a wonderful texture, and the gravy was very complimentary. Though the mass of mashed potatoes was plopped onto eery other piece of food in said box. Our french fries were nothing to get excited over, very generic flavor and size, and average taste. The chicken tenders were nicely breaded and were very tasty. The chicken itself was perfectly cooked, moist and tender. The thing I noticed most about the chicken strips were their size. Most places that serve chicken strips, you get a piece of chicken 3 to 4 inches in length and perhaps an inch in width. These strips were the same length, but were huge in width! One of my chicken strips was nearly as wide as it was long. So Chicken Now at the Merrimack Premium Outlets: Pros: Freshly cooked to order food, Excellent chicken, and sides. Neutral: The fries were average at best, the pricing. Cons: Having to wait for 16 minutes after ordering you food to receive it, The above rating is indicative of my experience only from the time I placed my order to the completion of my meal. I did not place any bias on Chicken Now for the things that they were not directly responsible for. Overall If you have never tried Chicken Now, and there is a short or no line, and you have some time to spare. I'd recommend at least checking it out. They really do have quite good chicken. Had the speed of cooking/delivery of orders been say 5 minutes or less, I'd have gone with 4 stars. read more

Best chicken tenders ever. Tender, succulent, crunchy, large and hot! Better than any restaurant quality tenders I've ever had! Highly recommend them. As far as service, accomadations and atmosphere goes, hey it's in the food court at an outlet mall so don't expect too much. read more

Ridiculous prices and a manager without a clue. I ordered $12 worth of chicken fingers and asked how long it would be until it was ready. They said about 5 minutes. I returned from getting my children's order next door and asked if my food was ready or had been called. They said no. I was going back and forth taking care of my wife and kids orders each time I returned I asked if my order was ready and gave my order number. They kept telling me no. Then I noticed a tray that had been sitting there the entire time and noticed they called the numbers once then threw out the tickets. After 15 minutes I asked are they absolutely sure if that meal want mine and they opened it and sure enough it was mine. I just asked for a refund. Then we waited for 5 more minutes till he manager could be bothered to come out. He had the audacity to demand that I go back to my seat and get my drink before he would refund my money. Like this is some sort of elaborate trick to seal a soda. When I finally get my refund I'm 25 minutes in to this place and he can't even print me out a refund receipt without having me wait even longer. Just don't even bother with this place. read more
