Pasta bolognese. Note it is Mafalde pasta and not Parpadelle as mentioned on the menu
    Michael R.

Updating my review as this is now "Mike's Italian Kitchen", a rebrand from MT's local. We enjoyed MT's for years with consistently good food and service and finally made it in to try the new format. We had excellent service and enjoyed our meal. Cocktail service was as good as ever, and the restaurant still provides a delicious bread service and nice oil dipping sauce at no charge, Kudos! We started with the meatball in cast iron for an appetizer and found these delicious. Three nice sized meatballs that had good flavor and texture in a tasty marinara sauce. The seabass fish special was very good, accompanied with mafalde pasta with pesto, perhaps too much pasta on the plate! We thought the lasagna was also quite delicious. I had the pasta bolognese, which was supposed to be served with parpadelle, but instead was served with Mafalde pasta. While the pasta was tasty, I don't think that style of pasta is best for bolognese. As far as the bolognese, it was good, but not great. The primary flavor was sausage, which was not the meat flavor I expected. Portions are huge and enough for 2-3 people to share. For dessert we had one of their "tall cakes", a real treat and enough for 3-4 people to share. Overall a very nice dinner, but I will miss the format of MT's. Most important to know is that they no longer take reservations, and it seems popular. That will really limit the times we will visit and we certainly can't plan to bring friends and family not knowing we will have a table. I know others don't mind waiting an hour or more for a table, but that's just not my thing. I hope management reconsiders the no reservation policy. It is the same reason that we hardly visit Surf in Nashua, the sister restaurant across the street.

Our visit here wasn't planned as we initially went to surf (the sister restaurant across the street) to dine. Unfortunately it was packed and the wait was long enough that the hostess offered Mike's. She called Mikes and we were able to head over. Dinner was pleasantly surprising. The octopus appetizer had to be my favorite dish I had. We also tried the scallops, cacio pepe, the fish and seafood linguine. I had some overcooked seafood for my linguine and the scallops were over cooked and a bit bland which is why I gave 4 stars. Service was excellent and made our experience even more pleasant. I would absolutely return to try more things.

Ambiance, atmosphere & distinction made for a great dinner. Chloe kept me content while I ate more than I should have. The sausage & meatballs were phenomenal as was the handmade pasta. I had a Vietti red wine as well. Left fat & happy.

Nice home town place in Nashua on Main Street. A good but not overwhelming menu with many choices across anyone's palate. We went with the Saltimboca and chicken Amalfi with the radicchio salad. Wonderful warm bread was brought to start with dipping oil. Plenty of staff to serve.

    Chicken saltimbocca - incredible!

Alright, after hearing many mixed reviews of this place, we decided it was finally a cool enough temperature out to give heavy Italian food a try. Mike's did not disappoint. First of all, all of their pasta is made from scratch in house. It was cooked perfectly, and the sauces had just the right amount of flavor without taking away from the rest of the dish. Our waiter (Steven) was very knowledgeable and helped us make decisions when we were torn. We had Steven at Surf before and he was just as great there. The tall cake was moist and delicious - well worth the splurge. Cocktails were creative and different from what you would normally get from an Italian restaurant (but there were still plenty of good wines to choose from). The only thing that wasn't top notch was the free bread and oil. It was a thin focaccia that didn't taste the freshest, but it definitely didn't take away from everything else being phenomenal. We're already looking forward to going back.

I would highly recommend this restaurant. The homemade pasta was splendid and not mention the waiter and ambiance was amazing.

Great restaurant for homemade pasta, a phenomenal bartender, and an intimate dining experience.

Average Italian food. Decor is blah. Waiter felt like an ex drug addict. Way better Italian around

Best Italian in the southern NH area. Cool space with a cool bar! May be a little pricey but I think it's worth it. 10/10 recommend

The food was genuinely bad, the…read moreservice was inattentive, the dining room felt dated and disorganized, and the prices were completely disconnected from the experience. We visited on a Tuesday around 6 p.m. with a party of four for a birthday. The restaurant wasn't busy, so there really wasn't an obvious reason for what followed. The meal started with bread that was lukewarm, hard, and forgettable, served with oil and what looked like dried minced garlic. Someone in our party tried to order a beer, and the server said they only had two or three of the dozen or so beers listed. Things only got worse from there. I ordered a French 75 and eventually received...something. It arrived after the appetizers, in the wrong glass, over ice, with no champagne and no detectable gin. It tasted like sparkling lemonade. I politely asked for it to be remade and even offered to speak with the bartender if it would help. The replacement never arrived. The calamari came out on sloppy-looking plates, and one order was pale while the other was dark enough to suggest it had been fried in old oil. Neither was particularly hot, and the breading barely stayed attached. The entrees looked just as uninspired as they tasted. The linguini with clam sauce was gray and soupy. The fish came with vegetables that were cooked to death. My eggplant parmesan was buried in bland marinara, and the gnocchi was room temperature, rubbery, and completely flavorless. The marinara itself tasted like watered-down canned tomatoes that had forgotten salt existed. Service was just as disappointing. Water glasses sat empty for most of the meal, our server was nearly impossible to flag down, no one checked on the remade cocktail, and by the time we finally got someone's attention, it was only because the host happened to notice us trying to get the check. We would have considered dessert, but the server disappeared long enough that we gave up. To top it off, the incorrect cocktail was still on the bill, bringing the total to around $250. One final observation: I watched the host reset tables by placing glasses, linens, menus, salt and pepper shakers, and table tents directly on chair seats. They also carried clean drinking glasses by inserting their fingers inside them. The open kitchen visible from the dining room didn't inspire much confidence, either. I've had better meals at chain restaurants for a fraction of the price. For roughly $250, this wasn't just disappointing--it was astonishingly poor. Nothing about this is authentic italian. Nothing about it is worth the price tag. Nothing about it was redeemable.
