We were in the area for Savannah Bananas and came here for lunch. Full disclosure I'm not a chicken salad fan but my friend was dying to go. I had a turkey croissant. I am a self proclaimed snob when it comes to these types of sandwiches. I found mine to be average. The croissant itself was dry and didn't have a buttery flavor as I'd expect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They checked on us and cleared our table. I used the restroom and it was very clean. I thought the overall experience was good, but it just isn't my kind of place, which is not their fault. We stopped here for lunch, in lieu of the many fast food establishments that are in the area and it was a great decision. Very helpful Staff and a very extensive menu of chicken salad offerings but one that was easy enough to understand. My wife got the fancy Nancy and I got buffalo chicken. I was coming through Coralville on my way to Des Moines and wanted to try this place. However, they close at 8pm and I was arriving at 8:01pm. I called and basically begged them to stay open for me. I've seen so many video reviews of Chicken Salad Chick on social media, so I was super curious to try this place. Right away, I was happy to see a drive-thru. Parking is kind of a pain in this plaza, so that was a bonus. They have several different types of chicken salad available. I ordered the Fancy Nancy on a croissant, but I'm pretty sure they gave me Classic Carol. It was still really good. It comes with a choice of side (I just got chips, but they have some tasty looking sides), a pickle, and a little sugar cookie. The price wasn't too bad for everything you get. The space is really nice. I didn't think there would be so many tables, but they are cleverly designed and spaced out to give customers lots of different options. I like the concept of their menu, placing the focus on the chicken salad as the star. You choose which of the dozen or so chicken salads you would like and determine if you would like it as a scoop or on a croissant. There are also options to add it to green salads. They also have chicken salad and sides prepared in "to go" containers, making it easy to swing by and pick up food to take home for dinner, lunch, a gathering, etc. My friend had the Fancy Nancy (fruity) chicken salad on a Croissant and thought that, while the chicken salad was good, it was overshadowed by the amount of croissant. The sandwich came with a side, drink, and buttercream frosted cookie. She plans to try the scoop next time so she can focus on the chicken salad a bit more (which she felt could have used a touch more fruit in it). As for me, I felt like trying out a bunch of sides (and dessert, of course). I enjoyed the pasta salad, Mac and cheese, and grape salad as sides. The pasta salad had a nice amount of pepper and other seasonings to it that made it especially appetizing. The Mac and cheese was good... not bad, not great... but overall quite satisfying. The grape salad was to die for! Their sweetness mixed with the crunch they sprinkled on top left me wanting more. But I had a cake to eat, so I turned my attention to another sweet treat. The slice of cake it quite large, so make sure you save space for it. They already have slices prepped in "to go" containers, though, so you are always able to eat what you can and take the rest home. I thought the cake was quite delicious and moist. I would recommend trying it when you are there. All in all, I like the unique business model of this restaurant and look forward to trying it again soon. read more

I did drive through on a week day around 11:30. It was fast and a complete order. I did The Chick special with Fancy Nancy I think so any chicken salad scoop and a side. I got the potato soup since it's so cold out! It was about $11 with tax. I highly recommend and all the first few months kinks seem ironed out. read more

I've driven by this place so many times and dismissed it as another chain restaurant serving average food. My parents brought it home the other day, and I finally saw the personalized menu and female owned story --but more importantly, behind all that; the delicious chicken salad !!!! They are running of promotion right now five dollars off of 15 -- that gave us two tubs of chicken salad. One was the barbecue style and one was the jalapeño. Both were epic. I couldn't even choose a favorite. Eat it with a spoon (or the crackers it comes with) , put it on a salad, or put it between some fresh bread like I did. Their menu also seems to offer sandwiches and salads. Also, right now there is a soup special. The broccoli cheddar soup was just as good as Panera and probably more organic and less processed. Today, the chicken tortilla awaits me although I'm not a huge fan of that flavor, I look forward to trying it out cause I'm sure this woman will do wonders with it!! Super fan of the food that I would even support it if it was a chain, but knowing this is a small business, I will go out of my way to go eat here once a week as a chicken salad connoisseur. read more

The inside is nice and simple with table clothed tables if you choose to eat your food there. You can also get meals and containers of chicken salad and other dishes to go. They also had a drive thru! I opted to get a container of chicken salad - so many options! With fruit, with nuts, spicy, the OG original. Since it was my first time there I got the original Classic Carol. And Carol didn't disappoint! The serving size was 2-3 and for me it was two sandwiches and a snack. A little pricey at $7.99 a container, but I feel like that's about what it's costing at the grocery store and this was much better. Refrigerated chicken can sometimes change flavor as the days pass (iykyk), but this did not. The staff was extremely friendly and explained the different choices. Meh. The gal at the counter low key upsold me. I got the chicken salad, with the jalapeno chicken salad on a bed of lettuce, and there was mold on the tomato. She asked if I wanted another scoop of chicken salad when I said I didn't want dressing, so I assumed she was just adding another scoop instead. She ended up charging me extra. Then they gave me the regular chicken salad and not what I initially ordered. They ended up giving me cash back, which is also annoying. Purchased their pimento cheese spread for a wine tasting later this week. Cookie served with the combo was very good also. I plan to go again and try another salad. Staff were very on top of things. if i could give a one star i would. i ordered a turkey sandwich and pasta salad. i got a slab of processed turkey on bread with NOTHING ELSE! no mustard no mayonnaise no tomato no lettuce: literally just meat and bread. i needed a magnifying glass to find my pasta salad side.
