This place has many choices available. The menu is kind of confusing but the staff is eager to help you learn. I have had several flavors of the chicken salad scoops - Olivia's Old South, Sassy Scotty, Cranberry Kelli (love the almonds!) and these are all fantastic! But my favorite is Lauren's Lemon Basil. Very strong basil flavor, which I love! The restaurant can get crowded, which is a clue to how yummy it is. I really wish they would purchase the empty space next door to expand. I think they should think about adding a "chunky style" option to their chicken salad menu. The staff is mostly students from the local high schools and they are friendly and courteous. My family loves several of their side items - especially the grape salad and broccoli salad. The restaurant is very clean and tidy. read more

Tried Chicken Salad Chick for first time today. I ended up getting an Egg Salad on wheat with fresh fruit. It even came with a pickle and cookie was an added touch . Very good if you like sweet relish. I Prefer dill relish but this was very good nevertheless read more

I recently tried Chicken Salad Chick in Flowood for the first time, but I was disappointed. I agree with the review that said "The menu is kind of confusing." I looked over the menu while in line, but I still had no idea what to order when I got to the counter. I ended up getting chicken salad on a croissant, broccoli salad, and un-sweet tea. The "croissant" was extremely disappointing. A croissant is supposed to be a buttery flaky pastry. What I received was basically white bread shaped like a croissant. Have you ever picked up a head of broccoli in the grocery store and taken a bite? If so, that's what the broccoli salad was like. I finally found some sauce at the bottom of the container. It might have been good if it had been mixed properly. Drinks are self-serve and the un-sweet tea container was empty so I had to return to the counter to ask for tea. Finally, the place is very small and cramped. It does not provide a comfortable dining environment. read more

Great service! Great chicken salad! I had the pleasure of having the "Classic Carol." It was delicious. Prices are very reasonable. Their croissants are HUGE! Such a great value for your buck. The only downside to the "Classic Carol" is that I wish it had dill pickle. I had to add some when I got home. Other than that I have no complaints. I will be returning. read more

Had lunch here for the first time; was hot and tired from shopping. A lovely young lady greeted us at the door with menus. We got into the line right away and ordered the daily special- one pimento cheese on a croissant and one old south chicken salad on a croissant. Came with one side for each; we got pasta salad and fruit. The little frosted cookies on each plate are a charming touch. Also had sweet iced tea in tall beautifully styled foam cups. Staff was fast and friendly; interior has lovely decor. They also have a drive-thru, which seems quite handy. Ended up with enough energy to shop some more - and am VERY eager to get back here to eat again, soon. This was first time so I just tried what seemed to be the most popular choices. For the most part the chicken salad was good but I didn't think it was really anything THAT special--maybe I was just expecting too much as a result all the hype I had been hearing about the place. Also, I think they really OVER-DID the "grape salad," as it apparently had some type of cream cheese "mixture" that I was a little skeptical of what it contained and was "loaded" with brown sugar--these two ingredients I thought very much detracted from the "healthy" thought I had of getting the grape salad side item. The lemonade was just "Minute Maid" (nothing "homemade) and "sadly" the "dessert" included was just a generic "store bought" lemon cookie--again, nothing you would expect from a "restaurant." Finally, I guess the "service" was ok, we weren't "greeted" or anything; but, they did bring our food out and the order was correct, so I guess overall my experience was ok and so I give it an "average" rating. read more

My coworkers and I had lunch here today and it was my first time trying it. I ordered the Fancy Nancy and the grape salad. OH my GOODNESS it is delicious!!! I cant wait to go back and try more. Everyone that ordered was talking about how great their meals were. The little cookie on the side was a delicious treat, but that grape salad is addictive! I had never heard of this restaurant. My mother in law took me yesterday for lunch. I am a fan now and telling all of my friends. Had the jalapeño holly chicken salad, fresh fruit cup and tomato bisque. All were excellent. The jalapeño chicken salad was the perfect amount of spicy for me. The tomato bisque was perfect. Fresh fruit cup was impressive. Lots of fresh grapes, sliced strawberries and blueberries, rarely do you get blueberries in a restaurant/eatery fruit salad. I did the online pick up. Chicken salad is one of my favorite things to eat and I highly recommend you try this place. My personal favorites are all 3 of the fruit salads. If you don't like chicken salad, they have a good pimento cheese I recommend as well. For your sweet tooth they only have a cookie but it's not an ordinary cookie. The icing is a thin layer of decadent sweetness that to me tastes like a blend of citrus and vanilla. You'll want a glass of milk! They have a grape salad but even though I like mayonnaise, to me I wish I could've chosen maybe vanilla yogurt instead? A little bit of it goes a long way. If you aren't sure what you want to try, there's a sample of 2 or 3 scoops that's called The Chick. You'll find that you have some left but when is that a bad thing? You can place your order online and they do offer catering for the ones that are interested. It's located conveniently in the Dogwood shopping center so it's a perfect spot for us hens to grab a bite, cackle a bit and get right back to shopping! read more

It's ok, I guess. VERY expensive for the small portions you get. Don't get me wrong. The food is good, but for $7-$10 I wanted more.

My first time visiting today and it was okay at best. The drive thru service was mediocre. No greeting. I was totally rushed while trying to read thru all the things on the menu. I understand it's a drive thru but give me a break!! GEEZ. I just picked something without a chance to look over the whole menu. Didn't want her to come thru the speaker and beat me up!! :) I told the lady at the window about it and she was nice enough to apologize and said she would tell "someone about it". She also gave me a menu, which I hope I can keep up with for my next visit. I do want to try the buffalo salad.......sounds good. I ordered the southern salad on croissant. It was actually pretty tasty but I've had MUCH better. The croissant was fresh. The one small leaf of lettuce didn't look or taste fresh; the tomato was an inch thick!! (I took them off); I could have used another 1/2 scoop or so of chicken salad on the sandwich. They were pretty stingy with that! The broccoli salad was sweet, crunchy and delicious!
