I didn't think much of the sandwich or the pasta but the shortbread cookie with buttercream frosting is addictive. A small one comes with the meal but you might want to buy a few bigger ones for $1.99 each if you have a sweet tooth. You also get a small pickle spear. I ordered their fresh lemonade drink and mixed with sweet and unsweetened iced tea and my roomie loved it. I went again and ordered one of their spicy "Kickin" chicken salad sandwiches on toasted white bread as part of a trio for $9.99 or something. The bread looked toasted but didn't feel toasted, I like it a little more crispy vs soft. With lettuce and tomato and I also asked for a slice of cheese, the sandwich was pretty good. I got some soup, I think it was chicken Florentine, I was told it sells out, it was decent. I liked the packages of crackers it came with. For the third part of the trio I got the macaroni and cheese and it was out of this world. It's on the kid's menu but they let me sub it in as a side. I took this order to go and the meal was ready in just under ten minutes, accurate with plastic utensils and a napkin. I recommend this place. Generally you combine a scoop of chicken or other salad or sandwich with a side and a drink. We ordered the Classic Carol chicken salad and the pimento cheese sandwich. It came out quickly and with no problems. The presentation was very appetizing and the freshness came through. The Classic Carol is pretty basic chicken salad with a clean flavor. Next time I will try a different variation. The pimento cheese is awesome! There a flavor nuances that come through that you won't find at other places. I really enjoyed my first experience at Chicken Salad Chick! I did not realize how much you can do with this concept, but I thought the chicken salad and egg salad were very tasty, not overwhelming with flavor, but good. My husband had the sampler and he agreed that the chicken salad lacked a seasoning, but we couldn't pin point what. That being said, we enjoyed our meals, cleaned our plates and especially loved the sugar cookie that comes with every meal. I thought that was a very sweet touch. This review is a revisit. The first time I went there, I could not find a parking space, could not get in and gave it a rating of one star. Glad I went back. i was there early for lunch, so there was plenty of parking and service was attentive. There was no line and I got in and out quickly. There are fifteen different varieties of chicken salad that you can have as a scoop or sandwich. It is a good thing that they off samples. All of the salads are based on the same base recipe. The salad is smooth, small chopped chicken pieces in Mayo and a very creamy dressing. Then, they add the extra ingredients to make the different varieties. i ordered the Olivia's Old South. It was a nicely balanced blend of pickles and egg. The only thing was that I ordered it on white, explained why I did not want toast, but got it on toast anyway. It was served with a pickle spear and small iced cookie. It was very tasty. I chose the seasonal salad on the side and it was great. It had lots of fruit and nuts on the greens. I made a mistake, though by ordering the Italian dressing. A creamy one would have been better. Soup of the day was unique - Chicken, spinach and artichoke. If you like creamy spinach-artichoke dips, you will love this soup - well balanced. The Key Lime pie was wonderful. Some may complain about the size of the portion, but it was just fine for me, and the price was great. An interesting thing happened as I left. When determining what I needed for my to go order, I mentioned the refrigerator in my classroom. The young lady asked about where I taught and I mentioned high school and a community college. Busy little spot! Tables can be hard to come by on the weekends but it's worth the try. Service is quick! Lots of unique chicken salad flavors, soups, other types of sandwiches, and desserts. I've never had anything bad here, their quality is consistently good! The buttercream cookie that comes with the chick is the perfect ending but definitely splurge for the cheesecake. I love that this location is close to The Avenue but just far enough outside of it to avoid some of the traffic.
