I brought Dad here for lunch once before and it was a good experience. We went back for our Daddy-Daughter lunch today. I ordered the Classic Carol for Dad. You order at the front from their extensive menu with key highlights of their main combination items. I ordered a croissant sandwich and was able to choose the type of chicken salad. They had quite a variety. Included in the meal is a side of your choice and a tiny frosted sugar cookie and pickle. The food tasted fresh and came out quickly. The variety of items was the surprise along with the fresh items such as broccoli that included an optional freeload of chopped salad bacon. All for about $10 so it felt budget friendly. This is a great place to try different varieties of chicken salad. They have other options from salads and soups to other sandwich options. I tried the Lauryn's Lemon Basil scoop on my croissant sandwich and it had a refreshing balance of lemon and basil...not over the top. As a side I tried the loaded potato soup which was good also, but served lukewarm. The interior is bright, cheery and well decorated. I have to say I get why at lunch when we went as a surprise the drive through snaked around the parking lot and building. This place was packed and there is a reason why. Everything is delicious, plain and simple. I love the decor with all the photos on the wall, the light green paint, I love the picture with all of the family and friends that all are the flavors are named for. The service was prompt polite and helpful. Even though the place was packed we had our food in no time. I am picky about chicken salad and I have yet to have a flavor that is not mouth watering. I had sassy scout and the pimento and I devoured my scoops. My hubs liked his turkey blt, he was awfully quiet. I do not say this often but I could come here every day and twice on Sunday. They are also on my approved bathroom list. Good for a date, family meal or a group of friends. I/we will be back most definitely. They have this place running like a well oiled machine! The setup to where you can grab the bowl yourself and all the various types and sizes they offer are right there in the front refrigerator keeps me rollin right on through. I ordered takeout....The Chick (cranberry Kelli on croissant, scoop of Fancy Nancy) and made it a trio (broccoli salad) for $2.50 more. The croissant sandwich filled with generous portion of chicken salad, lettuce and tomato was delicious. I thought it was unusual that the Fancy Nancy contained whole grapes. Four out of five packages of crackers were broken! Unacceptable! They should toss the broken crackers not give them out in a takeout order. The big pickle spear had a tough cucumber skin, which made it unpleasant to eat. Maybe they should buy smaller pickles. I noticed that the broccoli salad was served in a paper cup for dining in. The portion seemed more generous than the serving in my takeout box. I love the broccoli salad so I wanted more! The mini buttercream frosted cookie is a sweet end to the meal.
