Small salad with various toppings, pesto chicken cubes & a mini multigrain croissant on the side.
    Renée M.

It's been a minute since I've been here so I suggested it to my friends who wanted to meet up for lunch. Needed something healthy as well as I'd been carbing out. We got there about 11:30 and luckily there wasn't a line of people just yet. My friend and I decided to get a Regular Salad Bowl vs. a Small or a Wrap. I figured I'd take my leftovers home. There are stations where you choose your add-ins. I chose for my greens-- Spring Mix, then added baby Kale, Spinach & Arugula, black & green olives, red grape halves, chopped strawberries, sundried tomatoes, Jicama, cucumber slices, radish slices, corn, cilantro, Edamame, Banana Peppers, Pepita(Pumpkin seeds), chopped green apples, chopped red beets, mandarin orange segments and Pesto Chicken chunks(extra charge).I omitted Feta cheese which would've given it that tang. For my salad dressing, I went to my go-to which is the Lemon Vinaigrette, on the side. They give a choice of a free multigrain croissant, Pita Chips, Sesame Sticks or Croutons. You can also choose a couple of soups which are also extra. Proteins are an extra charge so you can see the amount on the Plexiglass divider above the items. Avocado and Artichoke Hearts are also an extra charge. My friend got a Seafood Mix and asked for an extra topping of Pita Chips so they told her it was $1 or $1.25 more(?). With her Regular Bowl, Seafood Mix, Drink, extra Pita Chips it came out to $22 so we were laughing. It was a big bowl. I couldn't finish mine so I was able to place the leftovers in the green plastic square containers which was totally filled. I had that and the Multigrain Croissant for dinner. Our other friend came a bit late because it took her about 20 minutes to find parking, She was getting frustrated driving around. It's always been that way as there's Smashing Crab, Merit Coffee, Nothing Bundt Cakes, First Watch, Fed Ex and other office & restaurants in the small shopping center. We convinced her to keep trying so she just parked in a retail office spot. I don't think there's a parking monitor anyway. About halfway thru, I just realized there was a famous sports figure in the next table over when I looked up. I told my friends who I thought it was and their eyes got wide open, star-struck and wanted some type of photo but didn't want to take an obvious selfie. I told them maybe they could ask for a photo after the person was finished. Once the person left with their party, I told my friends, "Go! GO!!" So we left our tables in a rush and walked outside. Another patron had asked for a photo so her significant other took the photo. My friends were saying "Excuse me....can we have a photo, please??" So the sports figure was kind enough to stop and I took their photos with the person. I thanked the person and we went back inside with people looking at us and the commotion outside, LOL!! My friend's neighbor is an employee so she told her and the other employees who were star-struck. The neighbor said she sees certain people coming in here from time to time. We told my friend who had gotten there late that had she given up and gone home, she'd have missed out on the photo op!! And I ended with "Aren't you glad I mentioned Salata??!!" LOL!!

This spot is always on pointe!! Have not been here in a few years but the inside is now all newly renovated and super clean! I love the flow of putting in a million ingredients to what you think may be an amazing salad (which never disappoints!) The items were all fresh and super tasty!

Salata is such a fantastic place to up your salad game, it is my go to when I am CRAVING a good salad. IFYKYK. Service has always been quick, efficient and reliable. They always have what I want on hand. I usually get the regular sized salad bowl (with dressing on the side) because I usually take home the other half for lunch the next day. 10/10 recommend doing this as well. There is no limit to how many scoops of each item you want, minus the animal based proteins, all toppings are unlimited and free. The recently did a renovation and I have to say I am loving the clean minimal vibes. Job well done! Ambiance is very fast casual I would say, they do have comfy booths & there is additional seating down the hall.

Really good salad spot for a good price. I have always wanted to stop by and check this place out and finally was able to give it a try. Very nice spot, the staff was super friendly and helpful with the ordering process. As a first timer it can be overwhelming to build your own salad but the help of the staff made it super easy.

order- small salad with protein (more specifically- salata mix, romaine hearts, spinach, bean sprouts, red onion, carrots, cucumber, mushrooms, broccoli, sun-dried tomatoes, pea sprouts, cilantro, corn, black olives,, black beans, feta, Parmesan, chopped hard boiled eggs, fresh herb vinaigrette, balsamic vinaigrette, pesto chicken, and a croissant) So, by starting a food review account (@bellalikes.eating), it's come to my attention that I'm extremely unhealthy! ! I decided to switch things up today and go to Salata. My experience here was a 10/10. Everyone was very nice and my salad turned out beautifully. I got a small salad and the portions are still so big I ended up taking some to-go. Also, the cashier was so nice he let me get my salad for free ‍

Salata has always been my go to for a good hearty salad that doesn't nickel and dime you on ingredients. But this Salata has always been a higher quality in terms of freshness and service. It's always been consistently perfect.

Served with iceberg lettuce. This was a hit. The tofu was perfectly crispy outside, softer inside and the sauce was delicious and perfectly balanced. First time: service was cool-shoulderish but the food was fantastic. We were all BLOWN AWAY. I thought the price a little high for what you get. I swear, there was an issue with my order. I'm telling you now...I didn't order the tofu, so when they delivered it to my table I asked....but they showed me my receipt, which said I did. I was skeptical, but whatever. I think the touchscreen ordering screwed me... Y'all, I wouldn't order tofu in a million years, I don't like it...but ended up eating the entire dish. It was fantastic! Talk about being surprised. Today, was extremely careful on the touchscreen when ordering, and went with the beef curry and chicken. My thoughts when it came out: is there even any beef in this? This is soup, not curry. Oh, and it's not even hot. It's barely even warm. Then, a co-worker was legit served the wrong dish. So, she goes to bring it to their attention, and the server borderline argues with her ...basically telling her "yes, that is what you ordered" - even though she had a receipt showing otherwise. Service is not friendly. Food costs too much. Ambiance is a mix of hole-in-the-wall, eclectic, retro...walls covered in weird posters. I like the vibe, seriously, I just wish the food was worth it and the people were nicer.

Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks. (See update above to this review for when we returned the next night for after dinner drinks.)

Every dish feels thoughtfully curated with tried-and-true recipes rooted in Chef Luca and his family's Northern Italian traditions. This is the kind of place where quality takes priority over quantity. Our server, Gary, was fantastic. He was friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and passionate about Italian food and wine. His recommendations were spot-on and his enthusiasm felt so genuine. We started with a bread basket accompanied by a little sampling of tapenade, which was savory, briny, and a perfect complement to the warm bread. Came in with a group of four, we kicked things off with the burrata starter--a surprisingly fun and shareable adventure of baked burrata, fresh crostini, roasted cauliflower, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, and basil cream. There was a lot happening on the plate, but it all worked beautifully together. For our entrées, we ordered the Tartufo, Cinghiale, Bolognese, and Carbonara. And let me just say, the Tartufo was a full-on dinner performance. Gary brought out steaming hot tagliatelle pasta and tossed it tableside inside a giant wheel of Parmesan. He then topped it with crab meat in brown butter before finishing it with a generous shaving of truffle. Every bite was like a perfectly timed symphony of flavors--rich, savory, buttery, and earthy, with nothing outshining the other. I'd put this dish up against anyone's nonna. I sampled the other three entrées as well, and every one was delicious. The gnocchi in the Cinghiale is an absolute must-try--pillowy, texturally delightful, and packed with flavor. Thank you, Nonna Osteria, for such an epic culinary experience. And a special shoutout to Gary for guiding us through the menu and making an already great dinner even better.
