I waited over 40 minutes for a chicken ceasar salad. I watched 7 people order after me and receive their food. I never recieved any acknowledged from the employees. When i was finally handed my bag i was told sorry for the wait. They forgot about my order completely. I did not heed the warning by other reviewer's indicating that chicken shack doesn't send you all the food and I paid dearly for this. We ordered two entrées and a salad and one of the entrées did not arrive. When I called them to let them know they said I was mistaken because the guy remembers putting it in the bag, but the chicken entrée was nowhere to be found. So besides being called a liar I was also without a chicken dish that they said they refused to deliver to me because I was not in the delivery area because I had a paid a fee to Uber eats to deliver to me. When I got upset about their refusing to deliver my missing item they then hang up on me. The other surprise that I didn't count on was the cockroach in my salad. I don't recall adding that as an extra. Do yourself a big favor and skip this place. read more

I used to eat here all the time. Then it moved to this smaller location on Broadway and got more expensive but the food somehow got worse. Last few times the turkey burgers I got were funky. I gave up. But after Bareburger undercooked my turkey burger 2x (seriously last time was still pink) I decided to give these guys one more try. I went in person and told them that my turkey burgers were terrible last few times. Asked them to please try to cook it on a clean part of the grill or something. You would think maybe they'd comp me or give me something off since I had such bad experiences but nope. The manager/owner? was outside smoking so maybe should've waited to deal w/ him. Anyway... The turkey burger tasted ok this time. And they gave me lots of tomato, pickles, lettuce in a separate container. But the fries had a styrofoam-like consistency. And the chicken fingers were bland. Bottom line: Too pricey for what it is. Food quality does not match price. Pass. For really good chicken try Mezquite on 31st Ave. read more

i got some good tasty grilled chicken with rice at the chicken shack and i dont know what i enjoyed more , the chicken or the lovely gal who shared the last available table outside. chicken, ribs, burgers, salmon , fries, rice , salads, desserts , etc, its all good and better when grilled. the smell and taste of chicken thats mildly burnt on the outside is two thumbs up for me. you order inside and hit the bricks as no eating inside is still the law but chicken shacks crew set up tables outside for us hungry patrons. i cant attest for everything on the menu but when it comes to the chicken i can and its really good and not dry at all . many places to grab a bite on broadway in astoria and chicken shack is high on my list . p s. My kids said this is their new go to place. We were late for a movie at kaufman and decided to look around for a olace to have dinner and ended up here. Pretty decent chicken place. They offer varieties of rotisserie chicken platters with a selection of tasty sides. Is say it's like a 3.75 type place. Flavor is there on the chicken but the fries were served soaked And quite frankly the bbq sauce is nasty out of some giant tub. Doesn't look or taste like bbq sauce. Never order from this restaurant again! This girl cashier who took my order is very rude. I ordered half of BBQ chicken, half of baby back ribs and fries. When the food is ready she hand the bag. I asked if there was any sauce in the bag. She shrugged like she didn't not know so I checked. There was no sauce so I asked for 2 of BBQ sauce. She handed one with the look like I was bagging for the sauce. Then I said I need 2 for both chicken and ribs. She said you had to for extra sauce. Really? Tasty roast chicken with pita and a side (and now a salad too) for a good price. The portions are good and filling. One of the best deals in Astoria.
