Ordered this evening's family dinner and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived at the store slightly after the promised time only to have to wait almost 45 minutes for the order to be ready. Then, when I get home one of the ranch containers had exploded in the container and saturated the entire meal in ranch. I called the store and they said they could give me a credit but I said no this is someone's dinner today so they need it remade. They said it would be 15 minutes. So, now the rest of the family has to wait 15 minutes for them to remake the food while their meal sits getting cold. So I again went back to get the remade food and surprise it wasn't ready in the 15 minute window. They hadn't even started remaking the order and so it was actually 30 minutes. The employee said they're doing the best they can and I have to say if that's the best then I think you should just lock the doors and go home. In the meantime the rest of the order is still sitting and getting cold. Was disappointed by the menu and rate. Ordered the two piece snack which was to come with choice of one side. Mushrooms were listed as a side, but I was told that I could not have it even though the menu said choice of one side. Got the home style potatoes which were good. At all the chicken restaurants that I frequent, I request two thighs but was told that I could only get one along with a leg. The leg was tiny. Chicken was moist, but lacked seasoning. Loved to the area and got a coupon to use here so we figured we would try it. I grew up with one around but this one was set up a bit different. More like a fine/carry out while the other one was cafeteria style. I asked for sauce on side because I didn't know which one I would like. Got the chicken tenders meal chickens looked super yummy and not rubbery which sometimes is the case with chicken tenders. The onion rings though were absolutely delicious just how I like them crispy and small. The potatoes weee delicious as well. Ordered through doordash. This is the second time ordering from Chicken Shack where my food ended up being stolen. Doordash refuses to give me a refund even though I have video evidence of no driver dropping off my order. I know it's not the restaurants fault my food has been stolen twice by drivers from Doordash, but I still am never ordering from Chicken Shack again. No such thing as coincidences; drivers steal the food, and refunds are refused. Whether its restaurant policy to refuse refunds or Doordashs' policy, this is not how to conduct good business. I've ordered from this Chicken Shack restaurant for years and this is by far the worst experience I've had. The potatoes were burnt and hard as a rock and chicken bites were as well. They looked like they were double fried. I don't understand why a cook would consider serving this to a patron. If this isn't something you would eat, you sure shouldn't be serving it this way. Our family likes the Cod Dinners. The crunchy batter coats a strip of tender cod. Yum. The fries are deliciously coated, lightly seasoned and perfectly crunchy. Every time I have gone here the staff have been extremely pleasant. The Shack Mushrooms are hand-battered and fried golden brown with a crispy exterior and a tender juicy interior. I just had to write a good one, especially because I feel like what often happens is that the one time something negative happens, people always report it, which is understandable, but we often forget that this isn't the entirety of the restaurant. This location has quality, good food, and for our family, it's been every time we've ordered. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender (I swear you can't find better at a 5 star restaurant!), and their sauce is absolutely THE BEST. We always order our potatoes well done and with extra butter, and they follow those little special requests! Delicious! The chicken is crispy and fresh. They have incredible fried mushrooms, as well, and their ranch is homemade. Coleslaw is the best in town. Have never written a review about anything but the chicken shack Shelby Twp was ridiculous. I ordered a 2 pc white meat with a side of cole slaw. I questioned the price when she said $9.49 beause I thought the side of cole slaw was included in the $5.99 price of what they call a chicken snack. I said ok and waited. What I got was a wing that was smaller than what you get when you buy wings out for 6 for $5 (maybe 2 baby bites) or something like that and the breast was the smallest I have seen and the meat was tough. The cole slaw was mostly the liquid from the top. I also did not leave a tip for my carry out. I have eaten at chicken shacks before and were good. I was first introduced to Chicken Shack through work as we get it catered for some of our meetings. My boyfriend was curious since I'm always talking about it so I decided to take him on Sunday night. We ordered the junior super combo with potatoes and coleslaw. On the menu, it says the hot sauce and BBQ sauce are extra but the guy at the register didn't charge us. Food came out in less than 10 minutes which was fine with us. Let's start with the bad - sauces aren't good and the food doesn't need either. Coleslaw is diced too finely and I prefer my slaw with bigger pieces of lettuce and less creamy. Now on to the good - chicken had a nice crunch and the dark meat was pretty juicy. Chicken breast was a bit dry but we expected that. The wings were a bit small but luckily we only got one in our combo. Ribs fall off the bone and are surprisingly good for a fast food joint. The buttery potatoes are my absolute favorite - the calories are terrifying but it's so worth it. I prefer to get the potatoes that are the bottom because they're drenched in butter lol. My boyfriend and I cleared the combo no problem and I'll always hope for Chicken Shack catering rather than sandwiches. read more

I ordered the junior super yesterday. It is supposed to come with 2 large sides. I picked up my carry out and when I got home I realized that one of the sides was missing. I quickly called the restaurant to advise them. I spoke to Shawn/Sean the manager on duty. No apology was given, he said he had no proof that the item was missing. He offered to re-make them for me "right now" I live about 20 minutes away so if I took him up on that offer The food at home would be sitting for over 40 minutes. I offered to text him a picture. I get carry out from this location often. The food is good, the service is the worst. I order the same thing every time I come in. I placed my order over the phone for carry out, got home only to find it was not my order. My fault for not checking it before I left, their fault for screwing up my order. Keep in mind, it is storming like hell outside and I'm just trying to get some food for my kids. And when I say storming, I mean thunder storming bad. I treat myself with Chicken Shack at this location once a month and love it. Never had issues except when I bought a tray of shack potatoes and got double charged. Not a big deal so I call up there and the manager Sean said he would put my name down on a card for a $23.95 credit. I try to use my credit a couple weeks later and am told there's no credit and that they basically don't believe me. I've served at multiple establishments and the customer is always right. Someone needs to teach that to the young kids working here. So now I have to call up there until I get ahold of the manager that issued me the credit. It's not like it's $5 or something, it's $23.95, 3 meals. I was double charged so i might just file fraud through my credit card company and let them handle it now. If I could give this restaurant 0 stars, I would. I had a horrible experience at the Chicken Shack in Shelby Township and decided to give them another chance. However, this experience was as bad as the first. The first experience we had an order of $795. We called it in a week ahead and requested it be ready by 10:30 as we have employees on a tight lunch schedule. When I arrived at the location at 10:30, none of the food was ready. I had to wait until 11:00 and the food was finally done. The lady was completely rude and informed me that the location did not open until 11, so my food was not late. If they were not able to meet the 10:30 time, they should have told me this when I called to make the $795 order and called a few days before to confirm. So, decided to give them another chance for lunch with a smaller group. When we arrived to pick up the lunch, the same lady that was rude the last time and I called to make a complaint about was still working there. From the minute we walked in the door she treated us poorly with other customers in the restaurant waiting for their orders. We asked for the meals to be put on separate checks and her immediate response to the new employee working the cash register was, "they should have asked when they called, they will need to wait for her in the back to fix it." I simply said, "I will wait then and you don't need to be so rude." She then continued to make food, while wearing a sweat band on the palm of her hand, which is very unsanitary. When our orders were finally ready she was that "her in the back" to separate our orders. Upon opening our meals, they were overcooked and the potatoes and no butter on 3/4 orders. We were unable to catch her name and I believe she was the manager. However, I will never be returning to this store again after now 2 horrible experiences with the same individual. read more

If I could leave less than 1 star I would. I'm completely shocked how horrible the customer service is. I called and placed a carry out order. Went to pick it up. Was told no order was ever placed. I thought "oh no maybe I did call the wrong location." Checked the number, and it was this location. The employees continued to say that I never placed an order and one went as far to say that we were "lying" because we never placed an order. My husband left. I called back. Spoke to the same person I spoke with before, even though he told me that he didn't take my order. His name was Shaun. I explained what happened and he continued to say there was no order and he wasn't sure what I wanted him to do. At first he said it must have been our mistake, then acknowledged that whoever I spoke to much not have placed the order but there was nothing they could do. He offered to make the food but we would have to wait another 30-45 minutes. And he said he would not give a credit because there was no order ever placed. Which was a lie on their part. I ended up hanging up. I decided that I would call the next day and talk to the general manager. Her attitude was as horrible as the rest of the employees. She said she was not sure why I was calling to tell her what happened because there was nothing she could do. She had an attitude and was annoyed with my call. I ended up hanging up. I now plan to call corporate because I cannot believe how horrible everyone who works here is. I won't be ordering again. I don't want anything free because I will never go to this store again. I wanted to have my fiancé try Chicken Shack since we recently had it delivered to my work and it was delicious. We stopped by tonight and got the 8 piece shack pack with two sides and some rolls to go. The staff was super nice and service was quick. Our food was packed nicely, sealed and labeled so that nothing would spill on the drive home. When we got home, the food was still hot and tasted amazing! 3 stars - rating would be higher if they cooked the chicken more. It's safe to eat and meets standards but cooking more would eliminate the "gamey" taste and the meat would fall off the bones better.
