My wife and I split Philly Cheeseburger Sliders, a side Caesar Salad, and chicken tenders. The tenders were so hot and crispy. Awesome. If you have a food allergy, DO NOT GO HERE! My son has allergies. We carry a card with the allergies he has to give to the chef to make sure what we order is safe. We told the waitress what we wanted to order and sent the card back to the kitchen to check with the chef to make sure all the ingredients in the shrimp tacos were safe. Sorry guys but no pix tonight. Flew in to Philadelphia and then drove over to for a meeting in the morning. Chickies was across the street from the Courtyard so we walked over. Seated immediately as the crowd was light. Had a great waitress named Wiggles. She was fun. Ordered the Super Chickies Fries and the white clams and my guest had the burger. He had eaten at these before so I was the newbie. Super Chickies Fries were ok but not worth the price. The white clams were good and the juice was sopping good. Yes it came with plenty of bread to soak up the juice with so I am in misery. Despite hearing about Chickie's & Pete's for years, this was my first time coming here. I have never been a big fry fan, but I did try one of my friend's crab fries, and thought it was pretty good. I got the Caesar salad with shrimp and was not impressed. The lettuce was fresh, which was good, but the salad was drowned in dressing and the shrimp looked like a cartoon drawing. Other than the food, our waiter and the other staff were nice and helpful. The atmosphere is very casual, especially being that this location is on a college campus. I order a cheese pizza but it was so loud I couldn't even hear the music so our server must have not heard. We ended up with a traditional pizza (sauce on top). Ok so we gave it a shot. Oh wait, it wasn't even sliced! We had to send it back to be sliced. Took a bite and just no. Wayyyyyy too much sauce and almost no cheese. The little there was wasn't even really melted. The sauce also tasted like frozen pizza sauce, way over salted and too many dry herbs. I've had good pizzas at this location before so this was really disappointing. It was like pizza sauce soup. The food is good for a chain tavern. The problem is the service. It was horrible. To be fair the hosts, and wait staff are mostly college young adults. However the service is bad. Our server was being trained and had a shadow. Placed our drink orders. Drinks came out at different times. Placed our app order. Asked for plates and silverware. Apps came out pretty quick. Still no plates and silverware. Asked for plates and silverware again. Waited ten minutes. Had to eat apps with fingers. Also, no napkins. Placed entree order. Asked for plates, napkins, silverware again. Finished apps and plates, napkins, silverware came. Used the napkins. Asked them to take plates away and empty drinks. Ordered another round of Drinks. We ordered simple entrees. One burger, one Tuscan chicken sandwhich, one fried chicken sandwich, and two patty melts. The order came out as follows. One burger, fried chicken sandwich, and the wrong chicken sandwich. No patty melts. They took the wrong chicken was taken back. We waited ten minutes. The right chicken sandwich came out. Still no patty melts. Ten minutes later the patty melts came out. Finally, never got the second round of drinks. Busy weekend, young staff, but dang for sandwiches? First time Iv had sandwiches come out over a thirty minute stretch. Tipped well never going back. read more

Wow, Rowan has really changed since I was an undergrad. There's a full on shopping center with multiple restaurants. Back in my day, (insert long, winding speech about terrible food options and walking uphill both ways). The Chickie's & Pete's wasn't too crowded on a Wednesday night. We were seated near a huge screen, which made hockey watching lots of fun. I cannot go to a C&P and not get crab fries, so we ordered those as soon as we sat down. I was happy this location had Heineken 0.0, since I was driving but love beer with bar food. The fries were delish, and then we moved on to the lobster pizza, which had a lot more flavor than I expected! It was very garlicky and had loads of cheese and some really nice chunks of lobster tail. Last time we will ever order takeout!!!! And will think twice before we eat in again. First time - oh well so they can't count to 12. Second time - I called and complained. Two orders of wings - 15 drums and 6 two bone and there should have been 24. The manager was very apologetic and said next time we order she would take care of it. Third time - The manager came out with the order and had me check the wings. Once again it was a mess! 20 drums and 4 two bones. She went back to the kitchen and brought out a 6 piece of two bones and an order of fries. My son has a doordash account so when he got a craving for some crab cakes after Grabbe's was already closed (it was like almost 11pm); he searched his app & found that he could have doordash deliver to us from this location of Chickie's & Pete's. I opted to order their "Seafood Chowder" bc I just wanted some soup while he ordered "The Ultimate Tailgate" and the "Crab Bruschetta". The order came like 45-50 mins later from doordash. I have no clue about what their fees are bc I don't have account but I can say the food wasn't hot, it was lukewarm so whatever they charged wasn't worth it to me. But since it was ANTHONY who paid, I'm not the one to complain to them. As to the food, I didn't like their Seafood Chowder. It had 1 clam in the shell in it and 1 mussel in the shell in it and it was broth. I expected a thicker base considering they called it Chowder and I certainly didn't expect shells in it. So, I gave it to Ant and he ate it but said he wasn't a fan either. He did eat his entire sandwich, said it was ok. But he really enjoyed that Crab Bruschetta!! I was in town for work and staying at the Courtyard Marriott right across the street. This place is super convenient if you're staying there. Went to the bar for dinner since I was alone. Service was very good - enough people to keep drinks and food moving to everyone. As the night went on, the restaurant and tables continued filling up; when I left, there was a wait and a line of people outside to get in. The menu has several seafood choices along with typical bar food items. It's also not very well laid out...I found the menu to be a bit "busy" and hard to follow. But maybe I was just tired from my drive to southern NJ. I started with a Guiness and ordered a half dozen oysters. They had 3 different kinds...so I had 2 each. They were all very good with one exception - one was so small that there really wasn't an oyster in there. So I just sucked down the horseradish, lemon and cocktail sauce. They also weren't shucked quite right but at least they were fresh. I followed up with an order of sweet potato fries - these were interesting. They are seasoned and served with 2 different sauces - one is a sweet, maple dip and the other is a saltier cheese situation. Definitely high on the sodium level (between the sprinkled seasoning and the cheesy sauce) but certainly tasty. While I wasn't terribly hungry, I decided that I should have a salad. I ordered the mixed green salad and was asked if I'd like chicken, salmon or lump crab meat on top...I went with the crab since the menu is loaded with crab choices. The salad was HUGE. I kept eating but it wouldn't disappear. I got through about 3/4 of it and finally screamed "UNCLE" (in my head). When it gets busy, it's VERY noisy. There are lots of televisions as it's basically a sports bar. Certainly convenient and not bad if you happen to be staying in the area. read more

Came here a few weeks ago with our daughter, son-in-law and their 2 boys 5 and 3. First off, there is no kids' menu, so you're paying for an adult meal. The service was just adequate. We had to ask the server for flatware and napkins. We ordered the Crabby Fries which they are known for. They were good. Our son-in-law got the mussels which he really liked and received a generous serving of. Our daughter shared chicken fingers with the 3 year old and her other son had a cheeseburger which he was upset about because it was a "seeded" bun. My husband and I both got burgers which he ordered medium well and I asked for well done. Both were well done to the point of being burnt around the edges. We've had much better burgers in dive bars. This C & Ps has been at Rowan for a few years now and I've been trying to go for a while. I graduated from Rowan when nothing was in this location and again when they were building this facility that now houses this restaurant. I loved everything about the restaurant. The lights, TVs, staff and food were great. I arrived around 2:30 and they're were a few areas full of business power lunches and lunch dates but nothing overwhelming. It was a nice quit atmosphere. We ordered mussels, crab fries, clam chowder and chicken wings. Everything was good except he chowder was cold and had to be sent back. Once they warmed it up it was significantly better and definitely edible. The star was the mussels that were flavored just right width a red sauce and I had mussels for days. Literally it took me a couple days to finish all the mussels they served me. I would definitely come back to this location. read more
