Food: 1. Crab fries. They are always good. 2. Burger. I asked not to see pink and it came out pink so I sent it back. I was disappointed; I made it sloppy and was ready to Bute in. No go and my appetite was riuned. Lori offered me something else but I declined. 3. Other order was the salmon burger and we told Lori no sauces on the roll. The ultimate tailgate burger was outstanding- cooked to perfection (medium) with huge lump crap cake on top. Man o man - this burger rocked. Not a bad place to grab a bite before flight. Airline lounge is closed along with many other venues. They are open and accept dine in customers. Social distance is in place. Seats along the wall has plenty of electronic outlets, I was able to charge my phone while there. Service was on a tad slower side but we had plenty of time before our flight anyway. (TSA security only took 3 minutes). They have good selection of draft beer including seasonal pumpkin pale ale. It was light and perfect for mid day beer. They serve Philly cheese here and we had it one last time before departing Philadelphia. Chicken cutlet reminded me of how schnitzel is made, just with chicken instead. Breading is different from chicken tenders. I liked it and it went well with honey mustard sauce. Airport price on most food but we are at the airport. Great bar, wonderful servers! They are not social distancing, there are too many tables and they did fill them all, I had a 2 hour lay over so I observed for over an hour. No blended drinks available (common for a lot of airport bars). The fries were FRESH and killer with their crab seasoning! The crab sandwich was HUGE disappointment! The filler is VERY heavy and over powers the crab. They should rename it Crab croquet, because its not even close to a real CRAB CAKE. Flight delay and we were craving Crabfries. Several tables available but all were dirty. Sat down and waited. A young girl attempted to clean our table with a wet napkin. Is that legal? Bun fresh and shiny, green leaf lettuce fresh. First bite told another story. That burger had the texture and taste of being microwaved. The gray Patty was void of any seasoning. I was lucky to be flying out of E, which was near to D where Chickie's and Pete's resides. I had about 70 minutes before boarding and a long-ish flight back to Austin. Plus, I did not have breakfast in the morning so I was wanting a decent meal and not a soggy sandwich from a plastic box. I enjoyed checking my email at the sit-down restaurant and ordered the crab cake sandwich with the sauce on the side. It was truly delicious. Like, I did not know that you could get great seafood like that at an airport delicious. The flavors were incredible. The service was also fast and great, which is a priority item when you are on a flight schedule. My only critique was it was pretty pricey because the sandwich did not include a side. I wished for just a few fries, but the only option was a huge portion. They also did have some affordable soups like chowder if you are in a hurry and want to stay under $10. Despite the fact that we've had some bad experiences (waited an hour for a sandwich, missed a flight) as a result of Chickie and Pete's, we keep coming back. That's probably because there are limited fresh food options in Philly but definitely also because of the crab fries. (yum) Our favorite location is the one by gate C30 because it's very open and airy and you can hear the loudspeakers overhead (prevents future missed flights). The salads are huge here. If I were ownership, I would IMMEDIATELY fire the management of this location in Terminal E. I witnessed some INSANELY rude behavior.
