I love a diner. I'm originally from the northeast but live in SC now and we just don't have the same kind of diners that I had before - don't get me wrong, I love a Waffle House but it's not the same. This was a really great spot. My coworker and I were over in North Jersey for work but flew in and out of PHL rather than facing Newark. In order to beat the crazy construction traffic outside of Philly and to have a buffer for whatever TSA nightmare we were going to face, we got back near the airport early... like 4 1/2 hours before our flight kind of early. I wanted breakfast outside of the airport so I found this spot while he was refilling the rental car. I got the French toast with homefries. The french toast was perfect, with just a tiny bit of crisp in spot from the griddle. Same with the homefries. I would have liked a bit more seasoning while they were cooking, but a bit of salt and pepper and I was good to go. My coworker got the big breakfast but subbed out the homefries for corned beef hash. While I'm not a fan of corned beef hash, it looked exactly like how my mom and grandfather like it, with a little bit of crisp to it. The pancake was huge and he said his over medium eggs were cooked exactly like he hoped they would be. After an early morning drop-off at the airport, we ducked into Folcroft Diner for breakfast. More times than not I order something non-breakfast-y for my first meal of the day. Today was no exception. Their grilled chicken sandwich was not what I hoped for. On the plus side, it was a generous portion of chicken, most of which I took home. As a negative -- at least for me -- I like a flat filet, with grill marks. This was "chunky," rendering it clumsy to eat. It simply didn't taste grilled at all. And the chicken was dry. T ordered a country omelet that was filled with breakfast meats, cheddar and peppers. Though not my thing, I agreed it was pretty good. His grits were creamy, buttery and delicious. Coffee is strong and served in the old-fashioned heavy mugs that I favor. Our server was friendly. ("Where are you from?" she asked, picking up on my Brooklyn accent.) I asked if Greek lemon soup is ever on the menu. She said that the owners are Turkish, then gave me a rundown of their specialties, all of which sound delish. (Alas, no avgolemono.) I wouldn't hesitate to return to Folcroft. The menu is diverse, the restaurant is clean -- as pointed out by another Yelper AND our waitress. Great diner. The breakfast portions are huge. Chicken wings are pretty good, not the tenders. Good waffles. Good coffee. Plenty of parking.

Hair in my food I didn't eat anything there just nasty. Dirty there really isn't anything good to say about the place it's just not clean.

This new review is long overdue. I don't know why I only gave it 4 stars before, because this has become my favorite diner in the delco area! Friendly, hard-working staff, kind service, and last but not least, great food of course! I come here at least once a week and have been rarely disappointed as I have had only a single bad experience here. That doesn't matter though as the issue was a single food situation but their quality has been consistently high every other time. I am very impressed at how well they do the food! Holy Moley! Came in HUNGRY and left full and content. I had the chicken and eggplant parmigiana. Tasty and LARGE portion. My wife had the seafood pomadoro. WOW! Healthy portions of seafood over pasta. The iced coffee was a great compliment to the meal. You got to try this place.... Well worth the trip! I arrived in Philly and was very hungry. My day started at 330am. This was during the Microsoft issue in July '24. The airlines had tons of cancelations and late arrivals. I was supposed to arrive at 9am, but ended up arriving at around 2pm. It's was too late for breakfast at most places. Well, not here. They serve breakfast all day long. This is a big, busy diner. I love these places. This place did not disappoint. I ordered the cornbeef hash, potatoes, and eggs. The meal came out and it was a lot of food. It was probably enough for two people. I was hungry, so I ate it all. Piggy piggy. It was as good or better than i expected. This breakfast at a hotel or some of the other restaurants would have been $20+ . Not at Folcroft. One of my favorite places to go to is a diner. 90% of the time the food is exactly what you need. It's quick and comes with a coffee that just feels familiar. You sit down in the booth with the paper place mat with the local ads and you are instantly transported to the heart of whatever city you are in. The staff is super friendly and attentive for the fact that it's a busy spot with only about a handful on staff. I got the Cheesesteak Omelette since I'm in Philly and it was great. Exactly what you picture in your mind it is. The home fries are crispy and seasoned well, but ketchup takes it up a notch. I usually go here for breakfast. Or brunch. Had brunch here on Sunday we had Sue for our server who was fabulous. We ordered the food. She brought out the food. We had no wheat whatsoever, but it was really crowded. The quality and quantity was great. They do feed their customers. Everything tasted wonderful and met our expectations. However, I believe the staff for dinners really changes because it's a complete opposite. The food wasn't cooked right had to send the food back. They boiled all their vegetables from brussels sprouts to asparagus. Mac & cheese taste like it comes out of a can. The server didn't know how the food was cooked and even the manager couldn't tell us that it was boiled, but I would recommend staying away from dinner time. Cooks must be different between dinner and before 2 o'clock Staff is not as knowledgeable or as customer friendly or attentive as before 2 o'clock. This diner was suggested by family, as we were in the area and hungry, lol I don't know how many times I have rode by this diner and didn't notice it even think to stop, but I'm glad we did! The diner is very clean and looks up to date, but the food reminds me of the way diners used to be, great sized portion, reasonable prices and tasty!!!! We arrived and was greeted and seated right away! We had time to review the menu as we waited for our server, she was gracious in acknowledging us when we arrived also. The food was amazing!!! I got a BLT ( I wanted avocado but they didn't have it unfortunately) with sweet potato fries! Mother-in-law got a seafood medley and my husband got breakfast, grits, sausages, home-fries! Everything was extremely fresh and hot! The seafood dish came with onion rings, which we were curious about because some onion rings at establishments taste completely store bought! But these onion rings!!! Pronominal!!! They seemed lightly breaded and extremely tasty!! None of the seafood was overly breaded, allowing us to enjoy the seafood! The cheese grits were also a huge winner, it wasn't overly seasoned and very creamy!! The breakfast sausages were savory and the home fries made to perfection. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Other staff greeted us coming and going. The bathroom was clean and inviting! The price was worth it and pretty reasonable, the meals for 3 ppl who all left with a doggy bag was about $70. What more can I say! We will definitely be returning soon. Folcroft Diner has so many dishes to choose from and the portion sizes are huge! Came here in a group of 4 on a weekday for lunch and there was plenty of seating. The waitress was nice, but she messed up on a couple of orders and was clueless with what desserts that were available. I ordered a Toscana chicken wrap with a spinach tortilla and ended up getting a buffalo chicken wrap. I didn't think much of it at first since I've never had either, so I ate the whole thing before realizing I got the wrong order. The wrap was ok: the chicken was soggy but it tasted good. The fries were terrible though; they were extremely soggy and bland. For dessert, I got the strawberry cake and the strawberry flavor was too artificial for me. I did get a bite of the tiramisu and that was delicious, so I would recommend that! read more

I wanted to keep my birthday celebration simple so I went to the Folcroft Diner. My server was wonderful. Very attentive. I had the roast beef platter with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The roast beef was so tender. I could cut it with my fork. The only thing I wanted more of was the mashed potatoes! I would've enjoyed having a double order of them! My family and I enjoys the food and service that the diner provides. However, tonight they had a leak in the ceiling due to the heavy rains. Instead of closing that side of the diner, the manager and his crew started pulling down tiles and emptying shiggity water near our table. I moved my family to another table and complained to our server. It never dawned on her to move us, or as the manager to stop. This was a very disrespectful action and they just lost my family's busy! read more

I have eaten here quite a few times and every time the food was delicious and the service wonderful. The prices are reasonable also. We always order from the "small plates" section of the menu. Ok, let me run this down real quick! Pros: The spinach omelette was delicious (especially with the salsa) and the customer service was great. Cons: Our pancakes and French toast were cold () so needless to say we didn't eat them (wasted $), my cup had food residue IN it (yuck) but the waitress immediately changed it for me with no problems and the only had Tabasco sauce (yuck). NO hot sauce?? Huh, in a diner?? How sway!!?? I ordered home fries and onions...I specially asked if they were actual cut up potatoes or shredded in a pile like they just flip and the inside isn't really cooked (I hate that) she said they were actual potatoes, well of course she brought me a plate of shredded undone in the middle potatoes and m turkey links were burnt on the ends (yikes). I heard a lot about this place and since I was visiting from out of town I figured I could grab something tasty. Some locals told me to check out the Folcroft diner, so I recently paid a lunch visit and was happy I did. There was plenty of parking on their side parking lot. Upon entering I was immediately greeted at the door and seated. I had my choice of booth, table or sitting on a stool at their bar. They were practicing social distancing measures and all employees were wearing a mask. The entire diner seemed very clean and sanitary. My server was so nice, attentive to my needs and checked on me constantly. The menu was huge, so I went with one of the lunch specials which was a hamburger panini. The kitchen was quick to get it out and it was a solid little sandwich. The burger itself was bland, but once I added the cole slaw, pickle and some black pepper it was delicious and hit the spot. The bread was fresh and tasty. The sandwich itself came to $9 and change which seemed a little high, but the service I received and kindness of the staff overall made it worth it. On saturday Oct 4,2025 @ around 2 pm.My husband and I decided to go to Folcroft Diner for an late lunch- early dinner. When we arrived, we were sat down. As we waited for someone to come take our order we noticed that the time had passed of 10 mins before we got our drinks. Once we recieved our drinks another 25 mins passed and no one came to take our order. This has happened to us once before. Keep in mind I would always go here because it's not far from my home and the food is very good. Once the 25 min mark hit. We got up and went to the hosted stand to ask to speak to a manager, and was told she was on break. I politely said to the young man I would like to speak with her. He proceed to tell me she's on break. So I explained everything to him and told him I was leaving. He wanted to have someone come take our order but we decided to leave. What I also noticed that there were serveral waitresses at the counter doing nothing. They would look our way and not even check to see if we were taken care of. Also they were not busy at all!! The 3 waitresses that were at the counter was talking and laughing. This is the 2nd time this has happened to us. It's sad because I love their food. But I will never return back there. No one should have to wait 25 mins to be taken care of. In total my husband and I waited 35 mins just for no one to make sure we was taken care of. Sorry but not sorry. read more

I immersed myself in the complete diner experience. I left full but wishing everything had been better. The soup was tasty but I wish it had more chicken. My banana pudding was tasty but if it didn't have whip cream on top I think my container would have looked empty. I got the Philly Cheesesteak. The roll was good. The meat was dry (cole slaw helped that situation). It needed more cheese and the cheese to be melted into the meat. The extras, fried onions and peppers did not add much flavor. The waitress was good so service has complaint. I ordered French Onion soup and the chopped steak plate. The French Onion was very good. I ordered the chopped steak medium so pink in the center. It was borderline rare with blood on the plate. I tried it and just couldn't stomach it so I stopped eating. I showed the waitress and she asked if they can cook it longer after I already ate some of it. It was bland anyway so I said not to cook it longer. I won't be back. I love diners because of the variety but I missed out on this one. read more
