Review Visit: July 14th, 2015…read more Yes, it's called a Drive Inn. No, you can't park your car inside nor rent a room for the evening. Nakusp, BC. Our target destination after what seemed like endless hours of driving. Rolling up at 2am, we quickly headed inside and crashed hard. As soon as we were all awake, we needed some food to help refuel after that wild drive. Doing what I do best, I convinced everyone to head in to town to see what it offered. We hopped back in to the van and hit the town. Seeing as my cousin's wife was from here, she suggested a few places. The Hut was the one that sounded promising to all of us. The van was ushered in to a parking spot and we piled out with our empty bellies. Pouring over the menu, all of our mouths watered at the tasty-sounding goodies offered. I was heavily in to chicken sandwiches around this time so that is what I grabbed. I'm not sure what everyone else ordered but I do know the price was pretty consistent with other places like this. Since it was 5 people ordering food, plus the other customers there, the wait was a bit longer than I expected, but these places tend to make their food whenever it's ordered, so that's not always a bad thing. Once the food came out, we quickly headed to a table with an umbrella as we were roasting in the summer sun. Everyone immediately dived in to their food without hesitation. I had slight trepidation as I was in unfamiliar territory with different cultural viewpoints in how to make food and what toppings to put on it. As I sunk my teeth into that first bite, I knew there was nothing else to worry about. That chicken sandwich was full of big flavor. It may look unassuming in the photo below but I loved that thing and wanted another after finishing it. The menu for The Hut was rather large for the size of the town. The food options were a combination of what you can get at an Ice Cream Shack and a place like diner. Burgers, fish and chips, wraps, ice cream, shakes, breakfast, poutine, etc. There is surely something here that would interest most people. As for the building itself, it is in the shape of a triangle and looks to be a house as well? Or maybe previously a house? The peculiar design definitely catches your eye while driving down the road. Luckily after visiting it this one time, we hit up the Hut a few more times for food during our stay in Nakusp. While we did try other places, as you will see in coming blogs posts, none compared to my instant love for the chicken sandwich at The Hut. Years later, I still want another one.

What a great little place to stop by and have some great food!…read more This is a family run drive in that serves all the basic goodies, Hot Dogs, Burgers, Milkshakes, Fish & Chips and Fried Chicken!! Oh let me tell you about their Fried Chicken!! They are the honest home style fried chicken that is void of any gimmick or extra flavourings you would put on. The chicken are large pieces, I am sure they use local farm raised chicken as the meat has a firm texture and is very flavourful, I do not detect a lot of spices being used but they do have some in the batter ( by the way the batter is almost non-existent ) as the crust is very light and not overbearing. Anyways, this is one of the best Fried Chicken I had in a long time, and I had to find it here in Nakusp, BC!!

I called in an order for seven people and found the woman taking my order to be rude and awkward on the phone. When I arrived to pick up my order, there was no "Hello," no "How are you?" and no "How can I help you?" I was simply met with, "Oh... we ran out of mac and cheese," delivered with a snotty attitude. There was no apology and no effort to suggest a substitute. When I asked about something that would be quick to come out she was rude and informed me that I would need to wait another 15mins for a poutine. I ended up waiting another 20 minutes, and there was no effort to rush the replacement so the rest of my very expensive order wouldn't sit. By the time I got everything home, the food was lukewarm and the fries were soggy. For an order for seven people, that was extremely disappointing. To top it off, after all of this, the server actually asked me if I wanted change back. I'm usually a very good tipper and have no problem rewarding good service, but there was no way I was leaving a dime after the attitude and lack of care I experienced. Running out of an item happens, and mistakes are understandable, but customer service and common courtesy cost nothing. Unfortunately, this experience is consistent with others I've had here. As a local customer who has supported this business many times, I left disappointed once again. I will not be returning and will not be recommending it to anyone else.

It's more of a bar vibe with food, but the food was surprisingly really good. They let us do soju bombs, though I hit mine way too hard and sent beer everywhere. After that, they still let us do more rounds as long as we dropped it in only, had to beg for that. Servers were Korean, which was great to see. They also have a billiards table, so it's a fun place to eat, drink, and hang out after. Service: Friendly and chill, didn't mind us having fun Food/Drinks: Surprisingly good food, soju bombs available, solid bar options Ambiance: Lively bar atmosphere with billiards, good spot to hang out 10/10 A fun bar with better food than expected and a great social vibe

If you are scrambling between the mountains doing the Canadian tradition of crossing the Rockies, you'll need to figure out where to stop and nourish your SEOUL. There's a certain audacity to it--the kind that makes a town interesting. You've got this postcard-perfect mountain place, all ski-town swagger and lumberjack flannel, and right in the middle of it, a Korean family decides to plant their flag. They don't just open a restaurant--they create a gathering spot. Seoul Street isn't trying to mimic what Revelstoke already has. It's something else entirely. Walk in and you'll feel it immediately. There's a pulse here--equal parts neighbourhood bar, après-ski hangout, and low-lit spot to linger over soju and a plate of bulgogi. Trivia nights and other activities fill the off-season lull with laughter and beer-fueled rivalry, and when the mountains are quiet, this place hums with locals who know a good thing when they find it. The food? Pretty damn solid - street food with minimal twists and turns - this isn't conFUSION you know! The flavors are real--comforting, soulful, straight out of mom's kitchen, but smartly calibrated for the uninitiated. They'll ask about your spice level, and they actually mean it. You can go mild, or you can sweat your way to enlightenment. Either way, you'll leave full, maybe a little flushed, and very happy. In a town where everyone's passing through--ski bums, truckers, dirtbags, dreamers--Seoul Street manages to feel like home. That's not easy to do. If you're rolling through Revelstoke or laying your head down for the night, don't miss this place. It's brave, it's welcoming, and it tastes like heart. Seoul Street isn't just feeding people--it's building community, one spicy bowl at a time. CHEERS!!!
