Sunday during the Christmas season, the guest toilet is still plugged, and I owe Chick's Plumbing $400+, when their employee Joe, without blinking, recommends a procedure that will cost another $600+. "I'll get a second opinion." Early the following morning, Joe called : in debriefing with his boss, he had overlooked a possibility - snaking the line when the toilet was removed. He'd like to have another go at it - No Charge. That solved the problem, but on the invoice he added the words Zero Warranty. A face-saving gesture, perhaps, or just a number expressing the likelihood that I will call Chick's for plumbing services again. On the + side: On the first day, Joe gave me a 10% discount from the bill. He came back the next day and solved the problem at no charge. Beware. They don't stand behind their work. Also unscrupulous. Told me I needed a $750 new valve on shower wall when a $165 cartridge fixed it. Brett told me I didn't ask for it. I told him I'm not a plumber and did not know.that was a possibility. He never told me it was an option. Also snaked the tub which did have roots and some water ran very slowly down drain when he left. 1 week later when shower was used it would NOT drain at all. I hired chicks to come out for a leak. There was water all over our shop floor. They gave nothing but excuses and didn't fix the problem. They handed us a bill that was exorbitant! We complained and it fell on deaf ears. They didn't fix the problem, lied and said they did! Then when confronted they lied again! I would highly recommend avoiding chicks plumbing at all costs! I feel I was overcharged. I had the Plumber come to fix a leaking sink faucet. We have used Chicks in the past and felt they were competitive. The cartridge needed to be replaced - ok. The issue is that he charged me $40 for just the part excluding labor, which was over $100 for 15 minutes of work (we had other work done too, so this wasn't to meet a min. quota) and I bought two on his recommendation that I replace the other one while he was there. Come to find out the same week at Lowe's that they are only $6-7 per piece. That's is grossly overcharging for a part they likely got at wholesale price. I don't expect "at cost" pricing, but 6 times the price is not fair either . read more

In November of 2014 I called around for someone to fix an outdoor broken pipe which met with the city pipes and also needed a shut off valve so I could turn off all the water without going out to the sidewalk and using the city shutoff. This involved digging and exposing the pipe and the landscape irrigation man I hired swore he could fix it "no problem" even though I emphasized several times that it was the main water line. Are you sure you can fix it. No problem said Hans Smith. I had another plumber out and he told me he only worked inside the house and I needed to hire a landscape plumber. When Hans Smith's hired guy dug up the pipe Hans looked at it and said "Oh no this was not something he could do"! I would have to call a plumber for that, and then he would install the water faucet I used to have on that line! Chick's Plumbing said they could come within an hour and arrived in a short while. He charged me $368.00 and took less than 30min. to finish the job. They replaced the pipe with 1 inch copper and installed a shut off valve. The order said tested O.K. I could not believe what a hurry the man was in to pick up the check and leave. After that Hans Smith had his hired guy bury the pipe and then added a water faucet on for me and his guy weed whacked the grass near the old pipe site a bit. Hans charged me $470.00! All together I paid $838.96. I had to use credit cards because I had no available money. I'm an older single woman. Hans said, you'll just have to cut back on some of your dinners out (What dinners out, I thought). Here is the clincher. When my kitchen water faucet broke and started spurting water all over the kitchen a little over a year later, I confidently went out to turn off the house water supply at the shut off valve. It didn't work and I had to call someone to shut off the water at the sidewalk location. I had another plumber come out to see why the shut off valve didn't work. He cut the whole thing out and replaced it and showed me how it was installed backwards and that is why it did not work! Also, before they came, I had called Chick's first to say that it didn't work and the lady who answered said they could NOT fix it without charging me again because it had been over a year! But how would I know it didn't work when he said he tested it and I had no reason to use it until there was a need to turn off the house water. I will never call Chick's Plumbing again nor will I use the services of Hans Smith. read more

Let me start by saying I've used Chicks for a decade ... largely out of laziness on my part to not shop around. Enough is enough. Never again. Pricing in my opionion seems arbitrary based on which plumber comes out. And, it always seems that I end up paying more (in this case a LOT more) than what was originally quoted. The plumbers themselves seem competant ... but I think that competance includes a well trained strategy to have the customer pay more and more and more. Buyer Beware!!! If you have a gas leak at your house I strongly recommend you use someone else. They charged me 600+ dollars to find the leak and after only spending a few hours at the house said they could not locate the leak and wanted another 600+ to come again to try to locate it. They also quoted me 18 thousand dollars to fix the problem when they did not know where the leak was. I called another company instead who was able to locate the leak in less than an hour for under 300 dollars and quoted me 1200 dollars to repair it. To top it off the plumber had an unprofessional attitude towards me. When I told him I was upset about paying 600 dollars for him to come over and locate the leak and he couldn't do it how could he charge me another 600 to come over again to finish the job he was paid to do in the first place. He told me that was the nature of their business and that's just how they work. My overall experience with this company was terrible and I feel completely ripped off. Buyer beware!!! I am giving Chick's Plumbing the 5 star review that i believe they deserve. We had an issue with our kitchen disposal that would leak water when the new dishwasher was on. Very frustrating. Chick's plumbing was diligent in figuring out the problem. It took a while but the owner himself took time to make sure the problem was solved. If there were 0 stars I'd give that. Bunch of thieves. I was gone on a business trip and my wife called Chicks for a tankless hot water heater problem. They sent a plumber who claimed to have had flushed the system to restore operation. Turns out that installer of water heater never installed flush valves. It would have been impossible to flush system. Complaint to Chicks was met with absolute refusal to acknowledge what was obviously them taking advantage of a woman alone who's husband was out of town. read more

I really hate to give bad reviews, but I am very disappointed with their lack of service. We have been having a problem with our tankless water heater, and Brett came out and since I had just descaled the unit, we thought that might have fixed the problem. I asked about adjusting the manifold pressure, since that is what Noritz said had to be done, and Brett said that he had never adjusted the manifold pressure on any unit before, so he didn't do it. It cost $47.50 to do nothing. We even talked about getting a different water filter unit with a water softener to see if that helped in the future. We are still getting the same error, and when I called to have someone come back out to check the manifold pressure, I was told it would cost another $47.50 service call. Sorry, if I am going to have to pay, I'll pay someone else to do it. Really sorry, Brett, you were a nice guy but not worth another $47.50. read more

Today Danny came to fix our clogged kitchen sink. He came during the window of time that was given. He was friendly, considerate and also went the extra mile. When Danny was getting his tools, from his van parked in front of our home, he found a 100.00 dollar bill. He could have kept it, but instead asked if someone in my family could have lost it. My son, recently graduated from high school had been given 2 100.00 bills by his grandparents. When he went to deposit his monetary gifts he was 100.00 short. He though he had counted wrong. Boy, was he thrilled that Danny was honest ! What a great statement about Danny's character, the employees Chick's hires and a great example to a young person starting his "adult" life! read more

We had a ruptured water supply line and called Chicks Plumbing. They were on time, assessed the situation, and gave us a fair price to fix it. Danny came to our house and did the work. I would give Chick's Plumbing a minus 5 stars if I could. I spent just under $1,700.00 to clear a main line sewer backup. Their tech Danny was full of promises while doing the job but when it came to the end result absolutely NOTHING was resolved. I called and talked to the owner Chris Edmondson and was told there would be an additional charged for them to come back out and look at it again. Called another plumber, spent under $300.00 and have NOT had a problem since. read more

I had a leak in the wall of my laundry room. Clay from Chick's Plumbing arrived within the two hour time window, determined where the leak was coming from and gave me an two options regarding a fix. When he completed his repair he put the washer and dryer back into place and cleaned up. The next day we discovered that the water pressure in the kitchen was much lower than it had been. Clay came out again and in a couple of minutes determined what the problem was and fixed it. We are very happy with the service we received. read more

My family has used Chick's Plumbing since we moved here in 1987. They have consistently done excellent work for a fair price. Today Danny came to investigate a leak originating in the upstair's bathroom. He thoroughly tested all the pipes and then, when nothing leaked, suggested I pour some water on the bathroom floor. That was the problem! I appreciate the time Danny took to analyze the problem. He was cheerful, helpful, and knowledgeable. I will continue to use Chick's when plumbing problems arise. read more

I was charged nearly $400 for these idiots to snake a drain due to a clog in the sewer line. Not only did they fail to clear the blockage, they wouldn't issue an apology for their "services" or even a refund. Not only were their actions unethical, the employee who was sent out was very unprofessional and seemed to lack basic understanding of how to properly unclog blockage. I will NEVER use or recommend Chick's Plumbing to ANYONE unless they take accountability for their failure(s) and make things right. Save your hard earned money and call someone more independent who is willing to stand behind their quality of work until the job is truly finished! read more

so these guys are really RUDE and GREEDY.i used them for a sewer problem and they did not want to answer any questions i had about the job? red flag! they said take it or leave it we are in a hurry. they dont care about customers. they want to abuse people that are in need and take the money. i wish i would have read the reviews beforehand,but i did see how many people felt the same way. and they are still in business? Too bad I cannot give minus stars on this one. Clay came out on 10/19/13 to unclog a main line drain. He never opened the external cleanout located prominently at the front of the home. Instead, he went into the master bathroom and, after a phone call, decided to pull the toilet. As the clean out had not been opened, the system was under pressure. Naturally, when he removed the toilet, the pressurized system spewed water all over the master bath, leaked under the walls to the adjacent family bath and partially flooded the master bedroom. Only when he had the toilet removed did he bring in the snake. The simple clog was cleared in record time once he inserted the snake. Clay made no attempt to clean up the mess and promptly presented us with a bill for more than $700 and left. It took days to sop up the mess in the bathrooms (plural) and dry out the carpet in the master bedroom. I will never call on Chick's again. read more
