I called Clear Water Plumbing because I had water all over my garage floor leaking from my old water heater. Garrett and Rob arrived promptly at 1:30 PM the same day and made assessment of my problem. They recommended to replace my old water heater with a tankless water heater, which after the rebate was paid, would cost less than $1000 then my old water heater replacement and last almost 2x as long. Rob arrived the next day at 9 AM and installed the tankless water heater. Although it was an unusually hot day for March, Rob worked all day installing the water heater. He was very courteous, and mindful of our pets. He finished up around 5 PM, and returned five minutes later to tell me that he needed to bleed out the water heater. He did so within 30 minutes, and was finished. I appreciated that I did not have to call him because of the bleeding of the water heater. Garrett will return tomorrow to review all of the work and to make sure that I was satisfied with the product, as well as their work. Both Garrett and Rob were extremely professional, hard-working, and explained all things necessary to maintain the tankless water heater. The faucet install grew incrementally: first there was an added charge for drain plug install but without considering that the new drain plug would lead to needing a new p trap which in turn would lead to needing to saw a piece off the drawer to make the p trap fit. Of course some of the problems could not be anticipated when the quote was given, but I was disappointed that the drain plug install was not included in the original quote for a faucet install. There were communication issues around the drain install. I thought the job was completed and was surprised that Clear Water left the site with the drain detached inside the cabinet but the shutoff valves were open. When I tested the faucet, water flooded the cabinet. I detected the problem early and cleaned it up. For the urgent second visit to connect the drain, I would have preferred a combined quote for the p trap and sawing the drawer to allow the p trap to fit. Instead the costs grew stepwise there too. In the end, the faucet, the drain plug, and the p trap were all installed and function properly. Ideally, I would have liked to know from tbe start that the original quote did not include the drain plug and that when I agreed to replace the drain plug for an additional cost that this would or could cause consequences for the connection to the p trap and the drawer. I don't do this for a living but I expect an experienced plumber to anticipate downstream consequences. While the total cost was reasonable, it was much higher than the low quote that got my attention. Everyone I met was very friendly and responsive to the short timeline I needed for the job. I have mixed feelings overall. read more

Last year we had an emergency repair needed to replace our main water line which involved extensive moving of landscaping. They were competitively priced for such a big project, completed the work in a timely manner, were professional and kind, and were able to not only minimize the impact to our landscaping, but put things back very well. Recently, Rob helped us out to shorten a gas pipe line. We asked for a quote on Saturday and by Monday morning he was out to do the work. He was very professional, communicative, and did great work. This is my second time leaving a review for Clear Water, and once again they exceeded expectations. A few months ago, I used Clear Water for several smaller jobs -- a toilet replacement, a Moen automatic shutoff installation, and an outdoor hose bib repair. The experience was great, so when I recently closed on a new home and found out I needed a full repipe, choosing them again was a no-brainer. I received three bids, and Clear Water came in right in the middle. Based on my prior experience, I went with them -- and I'm very glad I did. The job started on a Monday, and it was immediately clear this was not their first rodeo. The team walked me through the entire process, answered every question I had, and handled all communication in a professional and friendly way. Joaquin, the lead on my repipe, is an absolute beast -- knowledgeable, efficient, and clearly takes pride in his work. He really added to an already great experience. What truly separates a good company from a great one is how they handle issues when things don't go exactly as planned. In my case, a permit delay occurred that was completely outside of Clear Water's control. Garett went above and beyond -- personally going to Santa Ana to track down the issue and get it resolved. Thanks to his effort, the permit was issued and everything moved forward smoothly. In addition to the repipe, Clear Water also stubbed a gas line, installed additional toilets, tuned up my tankless water heater, and I'm now considering them for a water softener as well. We called Clear Water to come out and install new shower heads/ bath tub faucets and take a look at our kitchen sink. They sent Austin who was knowledgeable of the craft, friendly and was honest about doing a proper job on things when other people might have tried to just Jerry rig it to be able to charge us more. Instead, he broke it down informing us of the most sensible way to go about handling the issue with our sink. Apparently a service they do for free is also check out your water heater- we have two. We've had both since we moved into our house and they told us the upstairs one was about to give out but our second one was still running great. They came out the following day- replaced the busted water heater and took the old one. Good things: Price: Less than $300 to remove and replace two frozen valves. Arrived a little earlier. Quality of work and parts seems to be very good. Bad things: Clean-up left a little bit to be desired. No reassembly of cabinet area (see pictures). I would recommend company for minor plumbing work. The technicians seemed nice and responsive to needs and asked the company be considered for more complex work. I am unsure if I would or would not. Rob was absolutely amazing he showed up exactly on time. Worked quickly and spent time answering my questions and articulating what he was doing as he was doing the work so that I could understand. We had a shower that would not turn off and when he came it was assumed that it would be a simple job however quickly found out that it was going to be a bigger job. Rob handled all of the talking to his company and the Managment company of my property so I never had to lift a finger to get it sorted out. I sent out a detailed request for quotes on Yelp for installing a new faucet / connecting a new sink with garbage disposal. I included pictures as well for clarity of the job. I chose Clear Water Plumbing among the quotes as Garrett was friendly & prompt via the Yelp app and they had a good price. However when the Austin the plumber showed up, it was clear there had not been communication with him and the intake coordinator/Garrett on the job/quote. He said the quote was "wrong" because of the garbage disposal and would cost more. When I said this was already clarified in the texts for the quote, he made me show him my Yelp texts, as if he didn't believe me! Once he saw I told the truth and it was already there, he then pivoted to say Well the quote was still wrong, and he more than doubled the price of the original quote (I had already added an extra $200 for replacing 2 angle stops which was not doubled, just the original quote went from $195 to $450, for a new total of $650). In discussing this "bait and switch", and the fact that the texts clearly showed the garbage disposal was noted in the connection fee quote, his last excuse was it was because they didn't come out and do an "on-site" quote, that's why the original quote was wrong. Really? The text mentioning "garbage disposal" and the picture showing the garbage disposal under the sink was not sufficient (?) and knowing it was a new sink you didn't know it would need to be connected? If there was any doubt you could have texted something prior about possible price fluctuation or any warning the price could double upon the appointment? Needless to say I was disgusted at this "bait & switch" practice for the quote, and so had to decline service, go back to the drawing board, wasting both our time. Final note: I chose them for the high ratings on Yelp, but did not use them due to this attempt to more than double the original quote. So, I cannot comment on the quality of their work, only on their poor business practices. If you call them, My suggestion is never trust any quote they give by Yelp app or remotely, no matter how clear and detailed you make it, as they don't honor their own quotes via text. And if they come in person, get it in writing. For me, I would never use them due to this experience. There are too many good honest plumbers out there to choose from. read more

She then got us on the schedule for today, which I did not expect! Our awesome plumber Rob arrived right on time, and did an incredible job with a very challenging situation. Also got to meet the owner, Garett, who made us feel so welcome to the area as well as to his business. The pricing estimate was extremely fair and after the challenges encountered in the process we feel it was a great value. They were also able to provide quick estimates on some anticipated work, so we can budget for those expenses as well.
