She was very knowledgeable and transparent about the stock and delivery times. She made sure the furniture ACTUALLY EXISTED in a warehouse in SoCal before selling it to us. She didn't try to promise us something that needed to be ordered, constructed, shipped across the Pacific, and delivered. She sold us two bedroom sets that physically exists in a warehouse. The furniture was delivered a week later. One piece was damaged and replaced two weeks after that. After looking at 4 furniture stores in Chico, this is the only store I would recommend. read more

Update: dealing with this company is extremely frustrating. It's like a joke. They continuously lie and make empty promises. You literally can't believe a word they say. I'm a very nice person. Despite my frustration, I'm always respectful. I just told them, "just don't lie to people. Cant say enough nice things about the experience. We moved into a much larger living space and needed some living room furniture. I called them up and left a message and they got back to me right away. So i dont think they have normal hours but they set you up with an appointment to tour their showfloor. This was awesome because we had an attentive and informative saleswoman who was only focused on us. So we had a specific budget in mind and were shown a bunch of different options. After picking some pieces and doing the paperwork, we went home to wait.(same day delivery). So only 15 minutes later everything shows up. I had an appointment at 3pm. The one star is based on the fact that online the store hours said it was open until 5pm. I got there at 4:30pm and the store was closed with a sign that said "Call 555-1234 to make an appointment". I was confused so I called the number and the man said "yeah we only come in for appointments". Needless to say after driving in from 30 miles away I took my business elsewhere. read more

I've never had a better experience shopping for furniture. Bob is the perfect salesman. You never feel like a shark is behind you telling you why you should get what you're looking at. You can tell he wants you to be happy with what you're going to buy. He knew what his products were and was very knowledgeable about them. The inventory is different than a normal store. If I had to sum up my experience with one sentence, it would be: I have never been so grateful about responding to a Craigslist ad! About two and a half weeks ago, I was trying to find some nice secondhand furniture online, because I'm finally moving out of college housing. While browsing the ads through Craigslist, I saw one advertising a closeout sale at this place and decided it couldn't hurt to check it out. Although I was initially apprehensive about what seemed like the sketchy outer limits of the city, I went through the doors and felt instant relief when I noticed a considerable lack of human lampshades. In all seriousness, the furniture on their showroom floor is very nice, and so were the two men who greeted me. I was met by the owner first, who greeted me warmly and told me a little about how his business worked. Basically, they are a showroom clearance center, so while your pieces might be a little older, they are not necessarily used, and that's why the prices are so low. What's even better is that the furniture brands are pretty big names in the business. I noticed several mentions of company lines carried by companies like Evans, but for significantly reduced prices. That's saying something, considering their wide range of selections within the front office. They have even more options in the back, and I appreciate that they offer a pretty wide selection of styles to suit every taste. When I saw how affordable everything was, I couldn't help myself--I made a decision then and there I was buying a brand-new bedroom suite. I decided to treat myself, having just paid off a huge chunk of my student loans and getting into my first "real" home. I really agonized over what to get, because I wanted something that I would not have to turn around and replace in the next few years. Complicating things was that I wanted a California King set, and I preferred it in black. I wasn't finding a lot of those things, despite their pretty varied selection in the back. The salesman, Bob, is both friendly and knowledgable. I should also mention that he was incredibly patient as I walked around, musing about how this piece might look or whether this color could complement my duvet. While talking to my husband about a suite we were considering, I mentioned how much I actually preferred another set across the room, but it didn't come in black, so no dice. A few minutes later, I went to tell Bob we had made up our minds, only for him to surprise me by saying that while my husband and I were talking, he'd placed a phone call to find out he could get the set I wanted in both the California King size and the black style. I was so elated, I think I actually let out a little scream. Talk about going above and beyond! It would never have occurred to me to ask him to do that. Bob took it a step further, cutting me a break on the shipping charge and delivery fee as well. I walked away with a five-piece California King bedroom set (inclusive of a bed frame, dresser with mirror, chest of drawers, and two nightstands) for about $1,800. Delivery and shipping, these guys are just rockstars. Not only did my furniture arrive more than a week early, they scheduled delivery. Around a HOLIDAY. I'm not saying that they guarantee this, or could do it for everyone, but they did it for me and that is amazing. I am so elated about my experience with them, I totally understand why they have so many repeat, loyal customers. I will definitely be relying on them for my future furniture needs. When I went to go get a mattress from Bob I had a weird situation. Don't know how it happened but I did have a problem. I figured it was just part of dealing with the "typical" mattress sales industry. However Bob did call and make the situation correct when he didn't have to. Up until the problem, I was very happy with Chico Furniture Direct and Bob himself. He was very helpful and easy to deal with and I would have recommended him to anyone. And the problem and how he handled it, I'd still recommend him to anyone.
