This review has actually been a long time coming, but I was compelled to do it now because the issue that I had with one pieces of the furniture was swiftly and helpfully resolved. Some dining chairs of mine had some really wobbly legs all of a student and Evans sent someone out a week out of my reporting of my reporting of the issue. The tech Alonso was professional, friendly and very courteous. Can't recommend him enough. My one gripe was with the way the chairs were assembled because it was mentioned that the building people for the chairs probably didn't tighten the chairs well enough and that is why I had this issue in the first place. Anywho, all's well that ends well. 4 stars. Also, they have sales periodically throughout the year. Try and buy what you need around these times for some serious discounts. I'm not sure if the discount prices are the market rate prices leveled up artificially adiring non-sale times nd then reduced back down during sales times, but the best prices are given when the sales happen. read more

I contacted them and they very quickly sent out Mark to take care of the repair, he repaired the furniture and did an awesome job! He was polite and efficient. We purchased a powered recliner love seat from Evans Furniture in Chico. Ashley Furniture manufactured the recliner an provided a 5 year warranty. The love seat ceased to function 10 months later. We contacted Evans and the service guy said it was a warranty issue. We thought the customer service was good. We have been waiting three months for the parts to fix the recliner now. We know that Evans did not manufacture the love seat but expect better than their "sorry about the delay". We feel that Evans should be a better advocate to the manufacturer on our behalf to to have Ashley comply with the repair or get Ashley to replace the love seat. read more

After our new home was done we had to buy a lot of furniture. We looked, shopped, and looked some more. Some items we bought used, some smaller pieces online, but a few of the major items we bought at Evan's Furniture Gallery. In these times of covid and massive wildfires there is short supply and high demand. The folks at Evans have been great before, during, and after the sale. We bought a dining set as well as a sectional The quality of the furniture has been better than I expected! They kept us up to date as to arrival times (which we knew would be extended). After the sale can be a real test of retail company. Our sectional has three electric recliners, two of which have an air massage system. One of the air bags failed so I called. In a short time their service folks called and made an appointment. Alonso, opened the chair up and fond the problem. In less time than estimated the parts came in and just a few days later he returned and installed them. Everyone I dealt with, from the salesperson, to the delivery folks, to the repair department were all friendly, helpful, and professional. Alonso even saw our trash receptacle was at the end of our long driveway and it was empty so he put it in his truck and brought it up to our home when he came to do the repairs! read more

Wanted to say this was a great place! We bought a dining room set and they priced matched all the prices! Which was awesome! Finally get our order in drove down from Susanville (2.5 hrs away), drove home only to find that we were unfortunately given 2 defective chairs. 2/4 chairs did not have screw holes that lined up. Not their fault actually. I called in hopes to be compensated somewhat for needing to drive back down again only on my day off and replacing the 2 chairs. They couldn't deliver them to our house which would have solved the issue easy. But now I'm needing to drive out 2.5 hrs again... return my defective chairs....recieve 2 chairs in its place...and drive back home 2.5 hours again. Due to the fact that we we're able to get a great deal on them, the manager stated that they can't compensate us for anything. But with the cost of gas, time, and mileage, the cost of my chairs are definitely at their retail price now. I suggested even a store coupon for a future purchase, nope.... NOTHING. We are not happy. Originally we referred this company out because of their price match... now... DON'T DO IT!! You'll wind up paying full price for it anyway if you're driving back and forth like we did. Sales was a tad bit anxious to sell to us but what has us upset is that they lied. Once a business tells one small lie they loose my trust. First of all you have to pay money upfront and it is "NON-REFUNDABLE" no matter what. The lie is in the delivery timing. They say it will be delivered between 2 to 3 weeks. After 3 weeks of not hearing anything we had to call and they said it would be in the warehouse the following week but that the deliverers were booked solid that week and that we would have to wait til the following week for delivery. So though we had paid the non-refundable $60 delivery fee at the initial purchase, over a month later our furniture was delivered. Remember how Ashley Furniture was on the news for scamming people in the area and waiting months to deliver? The couch we bought from Evans is Ashley brand. Did they just change the name of the store? hmmm (would have gave it 2 stars since the furniture is good enough but since there is only one other rater who gave 5 I couldn't let it have 3.5 when they told a lie) read more

5 star delivery, 3 star overall experience as the lack of communication has been tough over 17 weeks. Bob was able to waive a delivery charge for the second shipment as I only have 2/3 pieces right now. Devin and Brian M delivered my sectional after much anticipation and it couldn't have went smoother. They were friendly, took extra care with the furniture and wore masks! The sales woman was fine. Helpful. But she totally got my hopes up by telling me "but I've seen these come in as early as 10 days!" Its now been a little over a month. The paperwork says 3 weeks tops. When I called today the date they told me it would arrive would be a total of 5 weeks and a day. Every time I call the date keeps changing. Not even excited for my furniture anymore. Just frustrated. If something takes 5 weeks that's fine!! Just tell me that and I won't expect anything less. read more

Bob Farmer, the sales manager is unbelievable. I've made several furniture purchases over the years but was unhappy with how one particular couch held up to spot cleaning. He listened to my concerns, worked with me to find a solution to the problem and in the end gained a customer for life. RESPONSE to EVANS FURNITURE: while I appreciate the offer for the store credit I must decline, I would rather receive a refund for the amount of the the plan. The fact that pet stains aren't covered doesn't surprise me. Like said again I was told that it covered pet stains. Do you want to know the reason for my disappointment in your store. We always had to buy second hand furniture. This was my first opportunity to buy brand new. I thought, I have always wanted to buy furniture from your store. But now as I look back at the lack of interest by your staff in helping us. It makes me of course mad but more so very disappointed. Making us jump through so many loops to only be turned away repeatedly. The fact that no 2 people in your store or from Montage actually know what is covered. there for misinforming customers. Remember it all started just 4 months after we purchased our furniture. So now we have no choice but to be satisfied with our 2 year old furniture that looks more like 5 to 8 yr old furniture. If I am ever able to purchase new furniture I hope that we will be able to find a place that stand behind their products, and take pride in making things right for customers. Bought a recliner June 27, July 11, two weeks and the chair breaks and I'm only home on weekends. Basically used it for maybe 3 days. The back part fell completely off. Been going round and round with them for 5 days to get it replaced or fixed. Nothing but bad service. Even bought a protection plan but it's not good till after the first year. Was in the market for living room furniture and a diner set. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I'm giving them two stars only because when my husband and I walked in the door we were greeted by Kelly and she was nice. Said if we needed anything let her know but I had no idea she was the only one that could help us. I walked to the back of the store and found a couch on sale I liked. My husband and I had cash in hand that day. We wanted to know if the couch was in stock but saw that up front Kelly was with a customer. About 10 steps back was a desk with a lady sitting there. I walked back and asked her if she knew if it was in stock. I got the nastiest look and then 20 questions. Well who was helping you? What was her name? I preceded to tell her but felt that if you wanted the business you'd either help me or say, let me find out for you. My husband and I walked out went to a different store that day and bought the same type of couch for about 700 less. Won't be coming back. I have some other furniture I'm looking at getting but I'll be taking business elsewhere. read more

So, let me start off by saying my first experience with Evan's furniture was not great. We ordered very expensive dining room set and several pieces were damaged at the time of delivery. I refused the delivery and went into the store and canceled my order. The manager called me later that day apologizing for the situation asked if he could please make it up to us. He gave us a very nice discount, and had another dining room set delivered that following Monday. (The first delivery was on a Friday) The second dining room set did not have a scratch on it. And Josh the delivery guy was amazing! Some of the chairs were wobbly and needed adjusting and he fixed them all without complaint. 6 chairs total. He even tried adjusting the table some, but later discovered it was due to our tile floor being uneven. Josh was very patient and professional the entire time. You definitely need more people like him on your team. Give that guy a raise! Also Dottie in the office was very helpful with processing my refund and order over the phone. We are very happy with our new dining room set. Both my husband and I absolutley love it! We are so glad we got it. It was worth the hassle. Don't waste your time with Evan's Furniture. Horrible customer service. My mom ordered a loveseat on May 29th. They called last week and said it was ready. We told them we would pick it up on June 16th when we were renting a Uhaul truck. They said no problem. My mom called this morning to confirm pickup and they said we had to get it by 4:00. We show up at 11:45 and they tell us that it's in Yuba City. We ask them to drive it up here and the manager says they can't but we can drive to Yuba City if we want. Or we can have the floor model. So we ask for discount on the floor model since it was their mistake. He says he can't give a discount. So the loveseat was in Chico a week ago but now it's in Yuba City all of a sudden? And why didn't they tell my mom when she called this morning? The manager did absolutely nothing to make it right. Don't shop there. Go sit on the furniture to see if you like it then order it on the Ashley Furniture website. Give your money to someone else. Rant over! read more

I purchased furniture from them two months ago. Never got a call saying it was ready for pick up since the piece I'd paid for wasn't in stock. I called and the lady say there and argued with me on on which number they called. She said we called once two weeks after your purchase the furniture. She said they dialed the right number but my invoice says the wrong number. Never did she apologize. I work in customer service and the workers there should learn how to treat customers. How Evan's fixed my $3,000 mistake! Two years ago my wife and I moved here from Georgia, we were cutting corners because that's an expensive move- and decided to not bring our aging bedroom set and cheap, dying mattress. The plan was to get a new one once we arrived and got our own place (we stayed with family for a few months so, no rush) we would get a new one. Well, we got a nice little house to rent and decided to spring for a Tempurpedic California King. In case you guys don't know....those are really, REALLY pricey. Around 3 K pricey. So, we bought it from a local retailer (not Evans. 1st mistake), and we get it delivered and put it on our adjustable metal frame given to us by another family member. Our logic was we needed a mattress now, but we might as well wait to get a nice bedroom set for when we have finally saved up enough money to buy a house in a few years. Fast forward to last week. The "dream" bedroom set is delivered at our dream house....the Evans guys are working hard getting everything in and start setting things up. It looks GREAT, everybody's super happy, and the wife is excited! .....Then one of the delivery guys comes around the corner with a worried look on his face. He asks me to follow him to the bedroom....I'm like "okay".......they get a tape measurer and proceed to show me that there is no way that our super comfy, super expensive mattress is going to fit our new bed frame. "Oh...so....did you guys accidently bring the wrong size?" (Nervous look exchanged between the two guys) "Uh, no...actually sir, we double checked and, um....(cough) this frame is definitely a California King.....your mattress is an Eastern King. It won't fit." All of a sudden I remember the multiple conversations between my wife & I, where she suspected the other store delivered us the wrong mattress size due to the sheets "not quite fitting right". I always just shrugged my shoulders, reassured her that couldn't possibly be the case, and that the sheets (you could hardly tell) were a little off "probably because Tempurpedic mattresses are made a bit bulkier." In that moment I knew I had been depriving some poor village of its idiot. So here we were, with a super nice bedroom set that is perfect and paid for in full, with a frame that not only won't fit our mattress, but doesn't EVEN COME IN AN EAST KING SIZE! So....no switching it out. Can't switch the mattress, because- well-we caught the mistake two years late....annnd where we got it had gone out of business! We could return the entire set....and start shopping again.....or spring for a new mattress, neither option enthused me. A few panicked phone calls later and I end up on the phone with the manager of the Evans Chico store. He was very polite and exceptionally sympathetic. He reassured me that this happens relatively often (really?) and not to be embarrassed. This guy ended up calling the factory that makes this set to get the specs, he figures out that this now DISCONTINUED set could be made the correct length if he could get ahold of some Queen-size rails. Then to make the width work, he just needed to get some runners that were Eastern King- so long as they were compatible with the rail system. It's late, past closing time for the store when this all went down, so I'm told that as soon as everything was open the next day he would start working on it. I'm thinking "yep.....I get to drop another couple grand on a Cal-King mattress.....because no way is this going to happen. Next day comes and I get a phone call at 330pm, it's the store manager with what he found out. I'm thinking "well, maybe he is about to cut me a mattress deal". Nope, to my surprise- he had a guy drive a 100 miles away, get a compatible Queen, and found some runners that would work! As I'm still stunned, he kindly asked if it was okay for them to deliver them within the next hour! Now...I don't know what your experience has been when you make a mistake, but mine is one where I usually have to pay for it. Evans could have easily told me "well, this is your screw up....sorry but we can't do anything about that"....and honestly, I was prepared for that as they would have been right. I think any other company would have done just that, and again- as painful as it would have been, I couldn't blame them. But that's not what happened here, they went WAY above and beyond what they had to do. In a world where customer service has become more a corporate firewall of red tape, Evans has kept the old school attitude that if they take care of the customer- the customer will take care of them. Well, they nailed it, I will ABSOLUTELY be buying from them in the future, as should you! P.S. Let me start off by saying they don't even deserve one star. We've been customers for years and have been treated extremely poorly. Recently bought an entertainment center and picked it up and it was damaged. We called multiple times to ask for store credit and never had anyone call us back, also multiple trips to the store to try and talk to a manager. We've went round and round with this store and their so called "manager" Robert never had the decency to call me back about another issue we had with them. Their sad excuse of customer service is beyond frustrating. Oh, and on another note if you pay for their delivery they just leave it on your driveway. If I would give negatives reviews, I would. My wife went into this store over the weekend to get some ideas for our new home. She came back home feeling confused and offended. The person who helped her ( John) was very derogatory and impolite. Then towards the end she was trying to tell him that she was indecisive and he replied with "don't waste my time" We're very upset with this behavior, if I would've been there I would've asked to speak to his boss right away. I put money down on a really nice sofa. Paid on it for 4 months and last week paid it off. Every time I .edcduttitar regnimewopame to the store I had to work with Andrea the Manager behind the counter. She is always emotionless to me and not pleasant ever. She always makes me feel terrible while I am standing at the counter waiting for her to take my money and show some kindness and smile...but that never happened. Recently, When I paid off my sofa and asked about the Warrenty I purchased, she took 4 phone calls before my transaction was completed. Another salesman was watching this display of rudeness and cane up to me as I was leaving the store. He apologized for her horrible customer service and her cruel and power monger attitude. I asked if he was treated like I was, and he said everyone is treated badly by Andrea. The owner knows how she acts but can't get someone else in the position so he keeps her and her mean attitude. I suggest if you really want nice furniture, go to Redding because Andrea works at Evens in Chico. I don't feel that the one review on here is a good reflection of Evan's Furniture. I went in a few different times looking for a new bed for my 3 yr old daughter. I always encountered very helpful sales people and never experienced someone trying to "upsale" me. Ordered the bed last week and it was ready for pick up 2 days later. We picked it up at the store and brought it home to find that we were missing pieces. I contacted the store and within 2 hours they sent out one of their staff to deliver the pieces to our home (which we didn't pay for) and put the bed together for us. They were super apologetic and most of all, did whatever they could to remedy the situation. My experience shopping there was a great one! read more

Here are tips that I wish I would have known when we bought furniture here... 1. Do not buy floor models, you do not know the history of how they were taken care of regardless of what the salesman says. 2. Make sure the item you decide to purchase is not easily scrap able. Just because their furniture looks nice does not mean that it is great quality. ( dining table, side table. etc) 3. Make sure you read 100% of the fine print regarding their warranty and service plan protection on your purchase. They will only cover "certain" things and within a time frame. Also, If something accidentally breaks, chips, or scratches while your moving they do not cover anything. The salesman was either misinformed of how the service plan really works or fabricated the information for sales purposes. I don't know if that person works there anymore. 4. Ask questions how the piece of furniture was made and how much of it is compressed wood or real wood. Purchase a quality piece of furniture! read more

First lets say the sales person was ok. After being told that the ottoman we want had to come from another location and it would be in on Weds and this was Sunday, little disappointed but ok with it. As told it came in. When I called to pick it up I was then told it could be picked up any day between 10-430 ONLY. Well if you have a job its pretty dang hard to pick it up between those hours, then was told it could be delivered. I asked what that cost and told it was 80.00 in Chico, I live less then 2 miles from the store. So lets just say that it hasnt been picked up and not sure when I can get it home. Very frustrated with the whole ordeal and will not buy another item there that I cant walk out the door with, which is almost nothing because everything comes from the warehouse in Yuba City. read more
