I need to revise my review from June. My buying experience mostly good. I had to get a new "box spring" for my king matress. Delivery guys arrived on time. Two cats in the bedroom which i didnt move thinking theyd be fine where they were. The delivery people got done but made a VERY SLOW EXIT. One cat escaped like it had been shot out of a canon. Other cat behind a nightstand not moving. Was it dead? No...but what the heck happened to my cats?! Bottom line -- merchandise OK. Delivery process sucked! You, as a consumer, can NOT directly contact the delivery crew and neither can the store. They can only contact the delivery company. My cat is STILL missing after all most 2 months! My suggestion -- buy bedding elsewhere with a more " open communication" policy. read more

The sales person Gabriel was the nicest guy during the buying process but an absolute jerk when I went in there to ask about returns. I was shocked that a sales person talk to me that way. Even if I found a mattress I loved there I wouldn't buy it because of his attitude. I did end up returning the mattress and I won't be going there ever again. read more

So mattress firm basically just ripped off my son and daughter in law. 5k on a bed that is not what they ordered. Won't take it back. Daughter in law is pregnant due any day and they will do zero to help. Paid for premium delivery and they wouldn't even put on booties over their dirty shoes in the middle of a pandemic. Did not install or adjust as they were supposed to. Now she can't even get into the bed since it's too high. She is 4'10" and very pregnant. They refuse to make it right. Do not do business with these people. We just want our money back so we can take our business elsewhere but they refuse to allow us to return it! read more

I ordered a queen sized mattress and the delivery guys left a full size out in the rain in the middle of my yard. When they finally came back with the right mattress they dragged their feet covered in mud through my house. The box spring which was delivered a week later had 2 broken pieces of wood and was torn. it looked like they repoed it from a crack house. Never going back. read more

Horrible experience with a sales girl at this location. By mistake I put it on the Forest Ave location instead of this one. The manager at the Forest Ave location politely contacted me to move it to the proper location. Of course I did it. That manager is aware of the situation if Corporate is interested in getting to the bottom of it. I don't have the energy to go over it all again. I sure wish I would have known about the Forest Ave location while I was mattress shopping. I have since purchased a mattress I'm happy with but will keep the Forest Ave location in mind. I originally didn't think I would be leaving a five star review for Mattress Firm, however, they went above and beyond with their level of customer service, to turn an unfortunate situation around! We worked with Juan during the Year End Sale, to find the perfect mattress, as well as an adjustable base. We had several different configurations that we liked, but ultimately, it came down to availability and timing. When we made our final selection, we were guaranteed delivery by January 10th, and left satisfied and very excited. On January 9th when I hadn't received the scheduling call for delivery, I called the store twice. The first time, the salesperson said I would receive the call later in the evening. The second time, 15 minutes prior to the store closing for the night, I was told I had the wrong delivery date, and that it wasn't coming until the 14th, and offered no other explanation or help. I tried to ask her to look up more information, and she told me, "you must have just gotten the date wrong." I assured her I didn't have the incorrect date, as my invoice had delivery service on the date I stated. She didn't have anything to say, and just told me to get a hold of my sales rep the next day (Juan). Once I spoke with Juan the next day, and explained the situation, and that I was dissatisfied with the service, and that we had specifically picked the setup we did, to avoid delivery even further into the month, he assured me he would do his best to remedy the situation. After placing me on a hold, he came back on and apologized for the trouble, and again said he wanted to keep us happy as returning customers. I had no idea as to what he was going to offer next. He said for all of the trouble, and for the amount of time we had spent in store, he was offering an upgrade to the more expensive mattress that we liked for no additional charge, and delivery the following day! I was absolutely blown away!! As someone that has worked in hospitality, as well as luxury sales, I was very appreciative of his positive attitude, and his willingness to take care of us as customers. Not only did Juan gain us as customers for life, I have also recommended family and friends to go down and see him when they need to purchase a new mattress! This is the WORST company to deal with. We lost our house in the camp fire, we go in, buy a NEW bed, have it delivered. Then we find a USED SANITIZED TAG on the bottom of the mattress. We call them, speak with Ryan, he says he can give me a cover for it but that's all. So then we speak with Cori, the Area Manager, and she tells us we need to pay another $500 PLUS a second delivery fee. WHY should we have to pay that? We bought a NEW bed, NOT a used one. I'd give Sleep Train 5/5 stars, but this is the first time I've purchased a brand new mattress and I don't have anything to compare my experience to. I'm also not sure how good of a price I got. I think Sleep Train follows the higher prices/better customer service business model. In this case that actually might be a good thing. The store was quiet and clean. There was a sales associate that immediately greeted me and helped me to choose which mattresses to try based on what I was looking for. I enjoyed being able to spend as much time as needed on the mattresses looking for the right one. The mattresses and pillows were clean. The sales associate was EXTREMELY knowledgeable of the selection and was able to recite statistics and differences off of the top of her head. I was impressed. After I picked out the mattress I liked I was given a choice of foundation heights which was great considering my bed frame. I also took advantage of a 0% APR financing offer. I was highly impressed with the delivery process. The truck pulled up in front of my house, and the foundation and mattress were in place in under 5 minutes. Both the foundation and mattress were wrapped in heavy plastic and were free from any damage whatsoever. The delivery guys were friendly efficient. Best of all, the manufacturing tags on my foundation and mattress show that both were manufactured within weeks of my order so I got new merchandise that hadn't been sitting around in some warehouse. I'm very happy with my experience at Sleep Train and I suggest you make it your first stop when looking for a new mattress. read more

It's been awhile since we bought our mattress here, probably about 3 years, but we went to a "discount" mattress place and they're delivery/removal was a pain + costly. The other place wanted us to bring our old mattress to the store, and then they would dispose of it. We went here to check out their offerings, and they not only price matched- any ad you could bring in- and they also have a program in their computer that checks local ads. The program was awesome, because we didn't have an ad from the other place but the price ended up being the same- they also gave us a great "credit" deal where we paid no interest for a few months- well we paid it off in the "no interest" period so we paid the same as if we'd done cash on the spot, we had our mattress delivered the next day and they took out the old one, right out of the bedroom. No hassle, no drama. There was some sort of warranty, but I've long since forgotten the deal. We didn't use it. I want to say our queen pillow top in the brand we picked + box spring cost about $600. There were cheaper offerings, we just didn't like any of them. read more

I had such a great experience shopping at Sleep Train! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a bed. Joey Allen helped me find an amazing mattress and was great at listening to what I wanted (which at first I wasn't sure about) and helped me narrow down my ideas to find the perfect one. First of all, I was in the market looking for a king to upgrade to from my current full mattress. I had planned to check out a variety of stores in town but decided to try this one first as Mattress Discounters was where I bought my last mattress, which is now worn out after 6 years. I was immediately greeted and helped upon walking into the store. I made it clear I did not want a memory foam mattress (just not my preference) and Joey helped me figure out what amount of firmness was good for my sleeping style. He was very friendly and not pushy which put me at ease and allowed me to actually spend time trying out the mattresses. I ended up being in the store for almost 2 hours and didn't feel uncomfortable at all, and he was a pleasure to talk to! Joey helped keep me around my desired price range and was very patient even giving me different pillows to try with each bed to fully get their feel. I did decide to go with a Sealy Posturepedic mattress as well as the box spring and frame but got an amazing price on the whole set up. I am very happy with my purchase and am excited for my bed to be delivered. Great customer service here at Sleep Train, I will definitely go back whenever I need another bed. read more

My wife and I went into Mattress Firm and were pleasantly surprised by the selection to chose from. The sales person Marilyn was great to work with. She answered all of our questions. We ended up ordering our bed and it was delivered on time and set up at our house by two very nice guys. We did have a small issue (no fault of the store) with one of the legs on the base unit. John the manager at Mattress Firm had the unit replaced with no questions asked and arranged for it to be done on Sunday so we would not have to take time off from work to meet the installers. We were very impressed with the service we got with Sonia at Sleeptrain Center in Chico. We had a special circumstance where we were returning a bed from another dealer and needed a new bed delivered soon after the bed was being picked up so we wouldn't be without a bed. They let us call as soon as we knew the bed was to be picked up and worked with us to deliver the new bed right after. I love our new bed from Sleeptrain! Kristen is amazing! As soon as we entered the store she greeted us and never pressured us which we really appreciate. She asked us about our sleeping habits and spend A LOT of time with us trying out many beds. My husband likes firm and I like soft. With me being 6 months pregnant we really needed a king upgrading from our old queen. I told her our price point and we left the store with the perfect mattress that was soft enough for me but firm enough for my husband. And the best part is we got two pillows, the mattress, box frames, metal frame, and delivery for exactly what our budget was. My husband recently purchased the Intellibed GelMatrix Midnight Firm Mattress. The sales associate, Ivy, suggested we purchase the mattress that was returned by previous customers under the Trial Period. She mentioned that since this was a used mattress, under the 120-day trial period, we would not receive the 20-year warranty but that we could still get a 5-10-year warranty at additional cost. We purchased the mattress with the understanding that we had the option for warranty and a trial period. On the day of delivery, Shipping arrived more than an hour and half earlier. I was at the doctor's office when the delivery men called me at 11:15 repeatedly telling me they were at my house. I said I was at the Doctors office, and they said, "Ok well we are here now waiting 15 minutes." Again, Delivery was scheduled between 12:45-2:45. So I left in the middle of my Hip Therapy and drove home. They Delivery men hardly spoke English and I attempted to speak Spanish with them but there was a significant communication barrier. After installation, I mentioned that the mattress was extremely high, and I am but 4'10 and 37 weeks pregnant. The sales associate who sold us the mattress with Premium Delivery said the mattress frame and height would be adjusted upon delivery, and our previous mattress would be removed for us. When they arrived, I asked if they could remove their shoes, and they said they couldn't, so I laid out a trail of towels on my carpet. They handed me the manual and remote control and were ready to leave and I said they needed to wait until I tested all the buttons. That night we slept, the mattress was so hard, I woke up with more back pain. The head and feet were elevated and my husband who is 5'11, had a hard time sleeping because his feet were dangling off. The mattress we tried out in the store is what we expected to be delivered. It was not soft at all or comfortable at all. My husband was adamant about returning the mattress. So, I called Mattress Firm the next day, and the Sales Associate, Ivy, who sold us the mattress told me that my mattress was nonrefundable. I was shocked. She never once mentioned that the mattress was nonrefundable. I stated to her that that was not our perception and that she did not mention that to us during our two-hour visit while she tended to 4 other customers. I stated this is not the mattress we expected, nor did we get the service of installation as expected. Ivy said that it was stated on my receipt. So, I pulled out my receipt and as I looked it over with her on the phone, I asked her where it was stated. She said it should say "no refund" on the line where it described the mattress we were receiving. Everything Ivy went over with us was HIGHLIGHTED. The part where it stated NO REFUND was NOT HIGHLIGHTED. She said she was sorry if she wasn't clear about it and that she was busy going back and forth with other clients. I told her that type of miscommunication was not okay and that I needed to speak with a manager. With the constant refusal to honor my refund of $5200, the area manager attempted to negotiate an alternate mattress that would then cost me $2600 more. Feeling like I had absolutely no other choice. I called their financing dept only to find out they put a hold on my account, told me that I was to provide them with Personal bank statements and many other unnecessary personal documents. When I asked why these documents were necessary the finance manager said that he could not disclose that information to me. I did not feel comfortable providing my personal information without proper reason behind it. The following day, Kristin called me with another negotiation offer to try and lower the balance due so that we could just pay out of pocket instead of transferring the remaining balance to the current credit on file that had been blocked. By lowering the balance, she removed the warranty and downgraded the bottom base. Buying anything without warranty let alone, no return policy was not up to my standards. Again, I requested to speak with the District Manager, who goes by the name of Corey, and I wanted to cancel all of this entirely at this point. It's been 6 days since the mattress has been delivered and the District Manager has still not reached out despite our many attempts to speak to her. In the last 24 hours, I have not heard from anyone to even attempt to lower the 39-inch mattress that is extremely uncomfortable, so my husband and I have been sleeping on the living room couch. Keep in mind, I'm Pregnant and due for Surgery in less than 2 weeks!!! The entire purpose of this purchase was because of the pain I've been experiencing during this pregnancy, enduring Pelvic Floor Rehab, and the expectancy of post op recovery. I am shocked that this company has taken the actions they have taken (or lack of) to ensure us our satisfaction and experience was handled with the upmost care and importance. read more

I went in to the Chico, CA location today to purchase a mattress. I am a survivor of the Camp Fire and lost everything in the fire. I have hardly slept since the fire and have never been so exhausted or drained. Making simple decisions causes severe anxiety attacks, let alone major purchase. Today I was helped by a gentleman named Angel Hernandez. When I walked in he immediately asked how I was doing and what I was looking for. Being unable to put a coherent sentence together at the time, I managed to get enough out for him to really understand what I was trying to say. He asked me what my budget was, and he handled it so elegantly when I gave him a price range that for once I didn't feel ashamed for not having much to spend. He could tell how exhausted I really was and truly cared about making sure I was getting a quality bed at an affordable price. I knew he wanted me to sleep for once, and even acknowledged how important sleep is to the healing process. He was very attentive asking if I ever have any shoulder, back k, or hip pain and only offered to show mattresses that would help alleviate some of my discomfort. He is incredibly knowledgeable and kept the conversation a bit light hearted, which is appreciated more than words can explain. I only looked at 3 mattresses before making up mind. Not once did I feel pressured with how he gave me space, but also made sure he was there to answer any questions I had. He explained things in a way that was easy to understand and didn't try to push any extras on me that I didn't actually need. He is so kind and personable, and very professional. He managed to make my experience 100% stress and anxiety free. Working with Angel today was a breathe of fresh air! He even offered me a discount on my purchase for being a Camp Fire survivor, which of course made me cry. He didn't have to go above and beyond today, but he did - plus some. Any bit of help for me being a single full time mom and working through this recovery on my own with no Financial help anywhere is almost overwhelming. I want senior leadership to know how much of an impact Angel had on me today. Not only was he so incredibly compassionate, he also made me feel like he really cared about me as a person. I wasn't just another sale to him. Thank you for employing such a wonderful person! Please take this feedback and e tend my gratitude if at all possible. He is more than what one could hope for in customer service, and a true asset to your team. In my opinion he deserves a raise or promotion! We bought a mattress at Sleep Train several months ago. It took me awhile to figure out that for various reasons that mattress was not for me. The accommodating staff at Sleep Train couldn't have nicer about letting us return that mattress and helpfully found me another, suitable one. During the time I came in with my concerns they gave me hints and information in an attempt to help me adjust to it. The service people delivering and picking up their returned mattress were professional and speedy. They even moved our old mattress into our guest room and set it up. They have been courteous and generous throughout this process, I would recommend them to anyone. read more

I went to Sleep Train to buy a mattress Saturday morning. The sales rep Mark was very helpful and was able to get us a good price on the mattress I chose. He asked a lot of questions to help us narrow down what we wanted to spent time with us walking around the store trying several mattresses. The mattress was to arrive same day from 1pm to 9pm. Around 6pm the mattress came and it was damaged. The wrapping had been ripped and the mattress was dirty and damaged. I was pretty disappointed as I'd lost about 5 hours of my day, with family in town for the holiday weekend. I called Mark and he tried his best to help me get one right away but I was going to have to wait until the next day for another 1pm to 9pm window. I asked to speak to the manager, Manny and asked him what he would do to keep my good experience from turning bad. He was very respectful and after some discussion oferred to give me two king pillows as well. The mattress and pillows arrived today and they are great! Don't buy from this company. We order a bed frame from this store for a Tempur-Pedic adjustable bed. Mattress Firm told us it would be delivered on Friday. My dad recently had a stroke and was sleeping in hospital bed. To make room for our queen size sleep number bed we had Enloe home health pick up the bed. At four pm Mattress Firm still hasn't delivered bed frame. Have called several times now. Said the reason they didnt deliver was because they didn't have our apartment number. Avoid them they are shady company. Don't seem like willing make thing right. Did finally get call back told me be here first thing in morning. Then Mattress Firm call back shortly after that phone call to tell me truck full and sometime would be sometime tomorrow evening. read more

Don't fall for their Customer service pitch. We purchased a mattress that we didn't like and tried to return during the 100 day satisfaction period. Finally, after some difficulty, they finally allowed the return for another mattress. Buyer beware though, the second mattress does not come with the same 100 day comfort guarantee and, in fact, the mattress that was delivered as the replacement had no wrapping or tags and I suspect was a mattress that was returned by another customer. That mattress already had body impressions in it and we are not allowed to return it. It is also not covered under Stearns & Fosters supposed 10 yr guarantee. I guess I shouldn't expect an $1800 mattress to last more than 6 months. Attempts at resolving this matter with Sleep Train Cust. Serv. were a joke. They refuse to stand by the mfr. warranty. read more

My fiance and I had the worst experience here. Firstly, they employees pressured us the whole time to buy a multi thousand dollar mattress when we just wanted something inexpensive. We finally found the cheapest mattress (around 1200 dollars) and it was terrible quality. We decided to hold off and went to America's discount furniture where they left us alone and we found and amazing bed for 500 bucks. read more

Could not be happier with Mattress Firm. My partner & I were browsing mattresses and Daniel McDermott answered all of our questions and there was NO pressure at all. We looked at the less expensive mattresses first, and Daniel spent a lot of time with us and never steered us to the more pricey mattresses. We decided on our own to look at the Beauty Rest Black Hybrid line and were instantly hooked after lying on them. He explained the differences, the pros and cons, quite fairly and never lost patience with us. In the end, we bought 2 complete bed sets from Daniel and we didn't experience the usual buyers' remorse, because of the trust bond we formed with him. We decided we wanted different bed legs after we got the beds at home, and Daniel handled that quickly and without trying to sell us on keeping the legs we didn't want. Come to think of it, we never felt we were being sold anything; we felt we were being informed of our options. Brianna was so helpful and got me a great deal! I just purchased - remotely from San Diego - an ST 650 Twin XL mattress for my 2nd year student at CSU Chico. We checked out the beds here in San Diego first to figure out what my son liked. We left the store with a bit of sticker shock as even with a free frame the cost was going to be about $700 out the door. As such, we were considering other options like getting a lower quality mattress and using the foam mattress pad from last year on top of it, not getting a box spring and instead using a DIY plywood base or "bunky board" in the frame, etc. With my info and options in hand and low expectations, I called this store and boy am I lucky that Brianna answered the phone! She said she had an XL in the store that was on clearance because someone had purchased it but returned it the next day because it was too long for the frame. She also was able to deal on the box spring, and also gave me a free frame and delivery. Total cost was about $520 out the door versus about $650 starting price for the basic Twin set! Before we got to the final deal, she was also very patient and flexible in discussing other options and pricing them out. For example, when I asked about the lower-level model (ST 350), she honestly said that it would probably be OK with the mattress pad but recommended we try it in the store. She also would have sold me just the ST 650 mattress. Delivery isn't for another couple of weeks, but based on this great service, I expect that to go smoothly as well. Scheduled delivery an extra week after purchase to coordinate with new bed. Sleep train driver drove to my neighborhood called at delivery time, hung up then called 30 minutes later to say truck was to big and now he was too far away. ( i could have driven my pickup a mile to get it). We had discussed the truck size at purchase. Sleep train called and rescheduled specifically to redeliver with a smaller truck. They called the day before to reconfirm the second delivery. On day of second delivery specifically for small truck at delivery time sleep train called to say they screwed up again, have wrong truck and have to reschedule a third time. They would call us back. No one called. We called the store again then waited all day and no one called as they promised. On the first deliver, we removed the mattress and its outside and dirty. So my wife and I have been sleeping on the floor on a piece of foam for two weeks and were now still waiting to even get a deliver scheduled for something we paid for. read more
