Although there was nothing wrong with my artists character, his line work needed some help. Not only was the tattoo terrible, it got infected. Called the shop and they just told me practically to deal with it. "It looks like the skin Is a bit over worked..." okay NO SHIT. If they cant get a tattoo this small right, I dont want to even imagine a large piece 5/22/19. Just got my last bit of scab to fall off. walahh!! The candy heart was a f*cking fail. Even if it healed properly, I would give the line work and design and overall thumbs down. I contacted the shop first, I wouldn't just write a nasty review for no reason. Spoke to my friends @ vip room and they will definitely handle my tattoos from now on. Thank you and have a lovely day. read more

I had work done about 5-6 years ago, at this location (with hector). Loved it!!!! It was a medium-small size tat, paid about $70. Came back a few weeks ago, for something less than half the size of previous work, and was told $80 - cash only-. I understand that prices have increased since the last time I was there, but I feel that, that's a pretty huge increase. I found out hector is working at a different location, going to pass by there and see what's up. He does great work, will go with him, for sure! read more

I've been going to Chico's Marked4life original location for over a year for my tattoos. I was recommended by a work friend and decided to give them a try. Liz did my first tattoo of two skulls and I absolutely loved it. She was very kind and gentle and talked me through the entire process. She checked up on me and my healing and genuinely cared about my overall happiness with my tattoo. Unfortunately, my most recent experience with Chico's and with Liz did not meet the standards of my previous tattoos. Three weeks ago I made an appointment with Liz for a tattoo of a basic swirl. We've all seen a swirl, it's a twisting and winding line that circles around itself. It's a simple design. I wanted this design on my knee, which is a tricky area for some artists. I asked Liz if that was something she could do and was enthusiastic when she said yes. Never did she mention any possible complications with the tattoo. Never did she mention she was not experienced with blackwork and ink packing. Excited for my tattoo, I came into Chico's about two weeks ago on Wednesday the 27th for my tattoo. Because I had come to Liz for four tattoos previously, I trusted that my tattoo would come out looking spotlessly clean and beautiful. But I was sorely mistaken. The entire tattooing process took 6 hours, my knee was swollen and I was tired but the tattoo looked nice. Unfortunately this was the last time the piece actually looked presentable. Over the course of two weeks, I've watched my tattoo go from good, to bad, to horrible. The line-work is abysmal at best. For something she claims to specialize in, her fine-line work experience does not show in my tattoo. The lines are jagged and blown out. The blackout sections of my tattoo are patchy and inconsistent. It is disparagingly clear that my tattoo seems as though it was done with a dull sharpie by an eight-year old child. This is extremely disappointing and honestly really embracing. I was so excited to get this design as it holds special meaning to me, and I never expected this outcome. I knew that blackout tattoos were tricky, but I've had one previously by another artist and it never looked like the swirl tattoo I have now. I especially never thought this would happen to me, by Liz. I trusted her, she told me she was capable to do this piece. A couple of days ago, I reached out to Liz letting her know about my tattoo. How it was really patchy and faded even though I'd gotten it less than two weeks ago. It looked rough and the lines were jagged and I was unhappy with how it was looking. I asked if we'd have to touch it up or if this issue would resolve itself. I didn't think we'd need too since the blacked out areas are not big at all. They're all about an inch or less in width, and my first blackout tattoo is about seven inches in width with no patches. She said to let it heal and get back to her after two and a half weeks to later. Everyday the mistakes of the tattoo become more and more apparent. I reached back out to her and told her about my knee tattoo. Two weeks after my appointment was when she found it the appropriate time to tell me that she knew it wouldn't heal well, and that I'd need to have it touched up and fixed after initial healing. I was surprised she told me this after the fact, after I'd already gotten the tattoo under the impression we could complete the piece all in one session. This was upsetting at best. I want my tattoo fixed but it's angering to find out that your artist knew your piece would not heal well, and it would need to be touched up only two weeks after getting the tattoo. What really got to me was how she refused to give me more than a 25% refund on a tattoo I do not like. When I called the shop the first time, someone told me that I'd have to go through Liz to get the best possible refund, which is only 100$ in Liz's opinion. She gave me two options moving forward. Either I stick with her and let her redeem herself and touch up my knee, which I'm extremely hesitant about considering the damage she's already done, or get a 25% refund of 100 dollars. This tattoo was 400$ total, along with two small runes about an inch in length. This tattoo in actuality is not worth more than 100$ alone. Liz is not experienced with blackwork, it's very simple. If she valued me at all as a loyal and returning customers, she'd have told me that this was not something she could do for me and recommended me to someone else. I feel taken advantage of, cheated, robbed, and invalidated for my concerns about a tattoo that is permanently on my body. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed in Liz and in Chico's for this awful tattoo I am now left to deal with myself. I do not recommend Chico's, nor do I recommend Liz. read more

I recently got my first tatoo at Chico's Marked For Life. My husband and I were on our honeymoon and had decided to get tatoos. We asked around Miami and found Chico's recommended by several people. We walked in and were happily greeted in a professional manner. Our tatoo artist personally designed our tatoo for us and modified it as we requested. She was efficient, reasonably priced and thorough. This was my first tatoo and she helped to keep me from getting nervous! She's also done tatoos for celebrities and muscians... her portfolio is fully of a wide variety of tatoo styles. Props to Chico's for sure! Parking is limited in their little lot, so make sure you get there with plenty of time to find street parking if necessary. They take walk-ins or appointments. read more

I Started Looking For a tattoo shop so i can get my first tattoo, in all honesty i didnt know where to start looking for one either. (I Hadn't Discovered Yelp At The Beginning of this Year Yet, would of helped a lot). My Manager actually refered me here, i wasnt convinced until he showed me the Huge Piece he has on his back. Thats when i decided to go take a look since they did a good job on his back Piece tattoo. So before i went i did my research online, and made sure they were trust worthy and made sure they use sterile Equipment and New Equipment that is required to Put ink on your skin. Once That was Checked i finally decided to pass By and started talking to one of the artist here and told him exactly what i wanted and what my ideas where. He Started showing me his portfolio and i was convinced to have my Tattoo Started. The Artist told me since it was short notice, it would take him 3-4 days to come up with a sketch, since he had other sketches for other clients to make. He Proceeded By calling me 2 days later, 2 days Earlier then anticipated. Told me to come in and take a Look at the Sketch, First sketch he drew was the Final One. It was Exactly everything i had in Mind, So Off he goes! BZZZZZZ ..... Oh S*t, this was my first Tattoo and it wasnt a small one either so i had a reason to be nervous. LOL Once he touched me with the Needle, There was no way i was turning back. All honesty it hurt at first but i got use to it quickly, The Artist (Mark a.k.a. Big Boi) Was On top of me making sure i was ok, asking me if i wanted to drink water, asking me if i needed to go to the bathroom, and telling me to let him know when i want a break. Just making sure i was comfortable, it went on for about 2 months since i would get out of work late and he would only be able to get 4 hours in each session, and had to give it some time to heal to put color in so he can see exactly how it was coming out after the healing. After he was complete, i was just super happy i was done only thing is i wish he would of use a little more color on the fish. Well he offered me at the end if i wanted color i can go back at anytime .... I might just go today! .... I would put 5 stars if they would accept Credit Cards, But Besides all that ... The Staff is Super Friendly In Bird Rd. and Miller Drive. They Have a couple of location setup around in Miami. In The Miller Shop they have A HUGE, BUT I MEAN HUGE Selections of Belly Button Rings For the Ladies. Same Goes for other jewlery Gauged Earrings, Tongue Piercings, Eyebrows ... You name it! Checked them out at either one of their 3 locations -Bird Rd. -West Kendall (Miller Drive) -Tamiami Airport Someday I would Definetly Go back here for a piercing or Tattoo ...... Do not get your piercing from this place. My most recent bad experience was when I got my nose pierced. The dude that did it used a regular sized cork screw stud instead of a longer one and after a day my piercing was sinking into my skin. The pain was unbearable for 3 days because it was so swollen and tight, then I finally decided to go to another place and remove it. They explained that the stud was the incorrect size! Before my nose piercing, I also pierced my belly button in this place and it got infected even after cleaning it every single day as instructed. I took it out, waited some time and got it re-pierced at another place then had no problems. They need to train their piercers better. read more

I had some work done at this location over the summer. My artist was Laz. I gave him the concept and he ran with it. A realistic sugar skull with traditional roses as the background. I couldn't be happier. He's an exceptional tattoo artist. I actually had the chance to see some of his works on canvas... He's just a dope artist in general. NOT your "normal" tattoo shop. Most of us that have tattoos don't know what the word normal is but you walk into this place and BOOM everyone is so nice and ready to help. Then the selection is not NORMAL they have more of a selection then a jewelry store has. Prices are VERY reasonable I have only been in Miami a short time but I have found a new home. I am completely satisfied with the way I was treated and "Marked for life" I was there for almost 9 hours of my Sat. Every one was courteous with me and made me feel welcomed. I was able to see everyone work on a customer and including an artist at that works at the shop, the family vibe that was given off by them made me feel extremely relaxed while the Legend Yarino aka Yari turned my flabby arm into a canvas with the help of Laz aka mucha muela!! I am already planning a second visit for another piece. in previous postt someone mentioned Assad and stated that he was rude I beg to difffer. Great Service Great Prices!!! I got my first tattoo, a tiny one, done here and I was very satisfied. The artist cared so much about getting it done right, quadruple checked in with me, and since it was pretty small i was only charged $50 as a flat rate. The only thing that may have been strange was that I wasn't ID'd (I just turned 18), and filled out no paperwork or anything prior to getting the tat. But the place itself didn't seem sketchy at all, super clean, super friendly. Getting another done here soon! read more

Tattoo artist Tattoobam Bam is an awesome tattoo artist. He does amazing quality work. His restoration pieces show pure talent. He can bring any piece back to life. I drove over 2 hours 2 different times to get 2 of my pieces restored and a cover up. His quality work is worth the ride. Tattoobam Bam is the best I've seen. I waited for years to find the right artist that I felt had the talent For restoration and cover ups. His pro-folio speaks for it's self. He puts passion into his work and takes pride in every piece he did. He also makes sure he goes over the after care of the recovery and healing process to make sure it heals the way it should he doesn't rush you out the door. I will diff refer anyone I know to him.
