I hate the way the employees at this store guilt you into making donations, and they ask if you want to donate 5 or 10 dollars. So that way you don't have the choice to donate a lower amount. The women who work here are soooooooo incredibly helpful, kind, patient, and great at their jobs. Deborah and Candy in particular always help me and my grandmother with the utmost attention to our needs and desires, and they really truly know their inventory. They recommended items i had overlooked or not seen that i fell in love with. My grandma can be impatient, a bit rude, short, and changes her mind a lot and Deborah and Candy never seemed to even notice her behavior, treating us with the utmost respect and kindness. I also must say that the inventory in this store is massive! There is so much clothing here! And Chico's is really adding some excellent new styled pieces to their collection. I bought a new pair of jeans, but they stretched out terribly after being worn for two days. They do not fit my hip but fall below, are baggy, and unflattering, and the store refused to exchange or return them as they were worn. I was told to call customer service, which I did; there was no issue in returning the jeans; the agent sent a return label, and is shipping a smaller size; I even bought a 2nd pair in another color. I cannot stand the 'holier than thou' attitude at the Studio City store and rarely go in anymore. Chico's sold last year; the store employees, their attitudes, and new procedures prove the changes; One person helped while assigning a dressing room, fittings, etc. but went on break as I checked out; the person at the register was cold and aloof. I am a husband and person of color who has had many favorable shopping experiences at the Chico's in Santa Monica. I would routinely go in the day after Thanksgiving and multiple sales persons would great me and offer help. I would end up with one person who would walk around with me, and I would usually buy $600-$700 in merchandise and leave happy. Since the closing of the Santa Monica location, I have visited the Studio City location a few times. None of these visits were particularly pleasant. Today I dropped by and immediately went to the counter hoping that I could find someone to help me. No warm greeting. In fact, barely a greeting at all. My experience with the woman at the counter was not pleasant. She was a petite woman who looked like she was the manager. I got the feeling that I that I was bothering her or perhaps using up her precious time that could be used with other customers. See ended up having another sales person help me who was very pleasant and supportive. I applaud the young lady who eventually helped me; the other woman, not so much. I'm done with this location; I will never return. I have lots of money to spend and will be spending it somewhere where I feel like a valued customer. read more

I walked in with the intention of buying their black sequins dress for a holiday party I need to go to tonight, but I was completely ignored. Not one of the sales rep greeted me nor asked if they could be of assistance. Keep in mind I am a POC ( Black) and all of the sales rep were white. One of them ( a young lady ) almost bumped into me, but did not say excuse me, she just kept walking. I might as well not been in the store. Another older lady who was at the register raised her head, looked directly at me (we made eye contact) and put her head back down as if I was a waste of her time. I'll start by saying I'm a frequent and loyal Chico's online shopper. They closed the Santa Monica location, so I've had to go to the Studio City location. I prefer to do any returns in-person so that I can browse to see if there's something else I might like. There were two ladies working there when I went in to return a few items. One of the salespeople (I believe she may have been the manager) was helping someone (who was white). She was helpful, friendly and obviously going out of her way to assist the customer with a return/exchange. The other older salesperson (I believe she was British) helped me with my return. I found her unfriendly and condescending. I had a pair of white jeans in the original plastic bag it came in that I needed to return. I'd kept them in the original bag so they wouldn't get anything on them. Rather than just taking the jeans out and throwing the plastic bag away, she requested I take the jeans out of the bag. I thought this an odd request since the trash bins are where the cash registers are, not in the aisles, but I complied. After my refund was taken care of, I showed her a top on their website that I wanted to purchase, but they didn't have my size online. I asked if they had the top in-store. She waved her hand and said the top could be found somewhere in the middle of the store, but she wouldn't know if they had my size. Not sure if her poor service was because I'm not white or she was just unhelpful, but I walked around for about 10 minutes and didn't see the top. At no time did either salesperson ask if I needed assistance. I finally asked the "manager" about the top. She said they didn't have it. My work clothes are almost exclusively from Chico's. It would be nice to feel valued as a customer. I've been to this particular store many times and the service can be hit or miss. Mostly miss. One other time I purchased a Chico's top online that had just come out. I was disappointed with the quality and went to the Studio City Chico's to return it. They accused me of trying to return a Chico's Off the Rack item there because they'd never seen it and said they don't carry the lower end items there. LOL, I don't shop at Chico's Off the Rack! I scrolled through my emails, located the receipt, and got my refund. But no apology. read more

It was a Chico's kind of day.............. Not once in my life have I ever thought to myself, "Wow, this was a Chico's kinda day!" But according to their anti-depression medication looking commercials, Chico's would have you believe that this is the place to go for fashionable choices for the modern lady. Well all I could think when I walked in was, "Who in the hell could afford a Chico's kind of day?" Tops for $100 that looked like an old navy t-shirt with a tacky button mounted to it. $180 for an a-line skirt you could score at Forever 21 for $15.00 and just a whole lotta goddy crap filling the store. The clothes at Chico's are very attractive and stylish, albeit higher priced. This review is very personal, but I do not go in the store because I actually feel overwhelmed by the staff. The staff go overboard to be friendly and help but I find it very pushy, intrusive and over the top. It smells like they are pushed to sell, sell, sell. I wish management could find a balance for being helpful but allow people to browse. I do not shop there for this reason. I literally get anxious before walking into the store. I do recognize that some people will disagree with me - customer service is a personal issue. I suppose it's better than being ignored but......I think there's a better way to sell. read more

The staff are friendly and very service oriented. If you want a size or color they don't have, they will find it at another store or have it mailed to your house. Free. Sure the store is not cheap but neither is the clothing. This isn't a store for young girls who would be happy at Forever 21 or anywhere else at the mall for that matter. If you want stylish clothes and your 20s are behind you, along with maybe another decade or two as well, this place is perfect. I love that is a free standing store. Parking is easy, free, and plentiful behind the store. No hassles. Just go in, shop, and leave. And if you change your mind, they will take it back.
