The food in this place is so good. I travel from New York to come to this place to eat some great food and drinks. The decor of the place is not great but the food makes up for it. The servers only speak Spanish so beware. they know very little English so it makes it harder to communicate with them. If you know Spanish like the back of your hand you be all set. By the way my dad is the executive chef there. Recommend: Sopa Wonton, Lomo Saltado, inca cola, chicha (its a Peruvian drink mad out of corn), arroz chaufa especial, wonton frito, polo con pina and Tallarin saltado. overall love the food and their chicha is the best hands down. Great place. They have wonderful lunch specials. I get the mixed combo or pineapple chicken. Lunch special comes with a free bottle of water or can of soda. Remember, it is Peruvian Chinese, so from the fried rice to chicken will be a little different from the usual. Also, try the lomo saltado there, it is great. read more

Peruvian Chinese food. Like most places in Paterson, it's cash only. It was authentic. We came here with a group of four. The wontons were made from a mix of pork and shrimp. Been coming to this place since forever for Peruvian Chinese food. The food did taste better before, but I still like coming here regardless. It's hard finding a good place for this kind of food. I'm actually Peruvian and think it's one of the best in its category. The restaurant is pretty small and not the most nice looking...mostly one of those barrio restaurants, but I'm more interested in the quality of the food. Honestly just go get real Peruvian food somewhere else and go get yourself Chinese food somewhere else also. The fusion of these cultures does not work. LIARS!!!! I asked for Peruvian aji because that is what makes the meal for me. I was told that they didn't have any. When I reacted I told her oh no bummer wish I knew that since that's what makes the meal. She advised me that the company they get the hot sauce is going out of business. I turn around and saw they have some in the table she than said it was only for ppl eating inside the restaurant since I order takeout I couldn't get one. I told her what difference does it make if I am a paying customer. She than gave me one that they had already prepackaged to give for Togo. Like why would you even make a whole LIE about Peruvian aji why would you choose who to give it too and who not too. I went with my family members in order to celebrate one of our member's birthday. Right from entering the restaurant the atmosphere is not impressive, with an old design, and some Peruvian art on one side of the wall. It is also cramped, leaving small room to move if you were to go when it's packed. So best time to go is before dinner time, and maybe a little after noon time. We went right before dinner time, I'd say around 4:30. Once were finishing up, the place was getting extremely packed, so it is very popular with the locals, and I can taste why. We ordered different plates of food so we can all share and enjoy. First we ordered some Fried Wontons as appetizers, and the crunch factor was top notch, and tasted great with the sweet and sour sauce. We ordered a pitcher of Chi-cha Morada, because we were feeling parched. Drink came second in our case. From there we were ready to order our entrees. I ordered some Wonton Soup, and I enjoyed the taste. Definitely great to have before your main course. I always prefer to order the Arroz Chaufa in Peruvian-Chinese fusion restaurants. The Arroz Chaufa was great because it wasn't over seasoned and had a great mixtures of meats. The rice wasn't over-cooked either. One of my family members ordered the Chop Suey. The Chop Suey was different from the the Arroz Chaufa. The combination of chicken, mushrooms, onions, and bean sprouts. The Chop Suey gravy also went great with the Arroz Chaufa. The Tallarin Saltado was also a great combination to our mixtures of different dishes. The two key factors to making Tallarin Saltado unique is how the noodle is cooked as well as the taste of the gravy. I would recommend any of these dishes for a first time experience at this restaurant. The service was good because we were attended to promptly, and were checked on even though they were beginning to get packed. Room for improvements would be more room for customers to feel comfortable, and redecoration. It is definitely a local joint, than a fanciful restaurant. That's where the food comes in. read more

At last, I have found my "Chifa Peruano"! I went with my family last weekend. Kahlu wantan, Wantan Frito, tallarin saltado, arroz chaufa, pato asado. All was fantastic... great speedy service even though the place was packed. I gave 4 stars because the navo curtido was not good. My dad did not approve of it. The chicha morada was subpar (good thing I got a Sunkist). Did not take away from the rest of the GREAT FOOD we had. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who truly wants a taste of Peruvian Chifa. The area is not 100% safe, so I would recommend to stop by during lunch time. read more

To me the best Chifa Peruano to this date that I have had besides Peru itself. Been going here since my family came in the 90's. Always large portions and the taste never drops in this place. Yes, it is cash only but that's how it is around most of these restaurants. Have brought many of my friends of different nationalities and once they get past the trouble of finding parking since it is in a high tracfic zone and the way the place looks. All my friends understand why so many people go here. The quality and taste of the food. My faves here are def el Chaufa especial, Tallarin Sam Si, Chancho con Tamarindo and of course when the weather is cold la Sopera Grande. For the outsiders all I can say is just try the food and you will look past the rest just from the taste. If not then get take out and take the great food home. My family has even done their catering specials that you see posted in the back wall for parties and they really pack those tin containers over the brim and worth it in my book. read more
