This place seems to always be hopping on the weekend. While the prices are high, the chicken sandwich is really good, tenders delicious, nuggets great(although one time very greasy). This is a modern quick serve restaurant ordering online or at a kiosk, pickup at counter. Employees seem stressed but friendly enough. The medium can vary from mildly hot to very hot, so YMMV on the spice level. Definitely competes with other local chains. It's not like Dave's Hot Chicken, or Joella's in KY but not bad! read more

My wife and I thought we'd grab take out after leaving an afternoon movie. There were 2 things wrong with our order we discovered when getting home 25 minutes away - our tender counter was shy 2 tenders when receiving just 3 on an order of 5, and they were at the highest spice level when we ordered just mild. This is the second time I have stopped in at Chikn. The first time, a man who was giving owner vibes was extremely nice to me, super personable. My husband and I were going to the movies so we stopped in. The chicken is SO good!! I got the salad both times (with an extra tender) and look at the amount of chicken they put on this!! Sooo excited to have a Chikn location in the Robinson area! We tried Chikn previously in Oakland and recalled the spice levels can get a bit extreme so we stuck with a to-go order of chicken and waffles, mild, with banana pudding and a fountain drink, then an order of 5 tenders, southern, with fries and a fountain drink. While the portions were sizable (we probably don't need to order so many tenders next time) and the order done quickly, i had a couple concerns about our to-go order that I provided feedback to the staff regarding a couple of them while there: 1- The boxes that the food came in seemed to be folded incorrectly as food was falling out of the bottom of all of them into the plastic bag. The kind staff were great in getting me new containers so my food wasn't swimming at the bottom of a plastic bag. 2- The fountain drink cups were missing for our order as well as 2 other patrons that came in to pick up to-go the same time as me. This can be a problem I assume if ordering through a delivery service where the drinks may be forgotten. 3- The cold banana pudding was put in the box with the hot temperature waffles and chicken so i was able to seperate before traveling home to keep the cold foods cold and hot foods hot. Again a concern if getting delivery services. 4- The drink fountain area was quite sticky. All of the above I assume are due to the new location and figuring some things out. We truly enjoyed the meal, but probably just a couple things to consider. Looking forward to return and again so grateful Chikn is at a nearby location! read more

I'm convinced that anyone who left a bad review went somewhere else! I stopped by on a busy Friday night and was in and out with my food in less than 10 mins. They have two options for ordering in store: you can self-serve on a touchscreen or you can walk up to the register and place an order with an employee. I went with nuggets ($9.50) and a side of fresh cut fries ($2.50, I think). I waited off to the side for my takeout order to be called and in 3-5 short mins, I was asked by 3 different employees if I had been taken care of. They're quick to greet and were very friendly to me. The decor is surprisingly nice. I loved the plant wall and huge neon signage. despite the pleasant vibe, I took my food to go and was given everything, including plasticware, in a bag. I was surprised that after my 10 min ride home, the chicken was still crispy. The side of sauce they give is creamy and a little spicy. I went with the medium rub on the nuggets and it was definitely hot enough for me. I'd say 6 out of 10. The fries had amazing flavor, but were a little soggy after the ride. I picked up lunch for my wife and I. This was the worst chicken I've ever eaten. My wife and I both got 2 chicken nuggets combo meals. The chicken was cold and overcooked and dry. The best fried Chicken in Pittsburgh. This restaurant should have more than 3 stars. The portions are huge and taste amazing. To top it off the service is bomb!!!!! A friend and I were casting about for someplace we hadn't yet checked out for lunch, and because of so many rave reviews, we decided to try Chikn. I got there a bit before 12:30pm and was able to secure a table while I waited for my friend. First impressions: seating, not great. Aside from just a very few booths, the rest of the seating was skinny, long little boards around the windows with incredibly uncomfortable metal stools. And one bigger table in the center. Aside from the few booths, the rest of the seating was communal seating, as in cram in next to people you don't know. Acoustics--AWFUL!! It was INCREDIBLY LOUD, between the fairly loud music playing and people talking. My friend came and we went to the only one of two kiosks working. I would SO MUCH rather order with an actual human rather than a screen! Anyway, I got a chicken sandwich combo with crinkle fries and a soft drink--one size soft drink fits all, apparently. On my sandwich I got a slice of cheese ($1 extra) and Cole slaw, ranch dressing on the side. My friend ordered the one and only salad available. We waited a reasonable amount of times for our food. My friend pronounced her salad to be okay, but she ate only half and didn't bother to take the rest home. My fries were...fries. Have to say they stayed hot for some while, though. My sandwich? I opened the bun and saw this really dark, smallish chicken boob. The "slaw"...wasn't. It was Cole slaw mix from a bag that had never been actually turned into slaw. No mayo or slaw dressing in sight anywhere near it. I pulled off the huge pile of it--huge to try to cover up the small chicken boob, I suspect. Anyway, I took two bites. The chicken was SO dry and stringy! Now, my bill for this was nearly $21. After that second bite, I decided, no. Very no. So I took the tray up to the register and asked for a refund. The gentleman at the register was very gracious as I explained why I was returning it, and he voided the purchase on my credit card with no problem at all. He was the highlight of the lunch for me. He even came to our table and offered me a free banana pudding. I declined, but it was nice of him to ask. By the way, they don't take cash. I'd never encountered that before. First-the ambiance-a very sleek and clean restaurant with an employee busy cleaning and straightening the entire restaurant the entire time we were in there-very impressive. Secondly-the service-you can either order at register or in the screens-we chose the screens since the workers were very busy cooking and packaging. Very easy to navigate menu-we selected the Hot Honey Chicken sandwich and also an order of chicken tenders-both with crinkle cut fries and a soft drink for combos. Now for the food--Our order was handed to us at our table-hot and steamy!!! Just the way we like it-FRESH, crispy, crunchy, deliciously fragrant, perfectly cooked chicken and fries--I thought we died and went to Chikn Heaven!!! I swear my eyes rolled back in my head for a minute when I tasted that first bite...not since my Mom's Sunday home made fried chicken dinners of long ago have I EVER had such GOOD, FLAVORFUL AND PERFECTLY SEASONED TASTY CHICKEN! (I apologize for screaming but it's just.that.good!) what REALLY impressed us both was they must meticulously trim and clean their chicken because not one nasty, chewy tendon or piece of fat was to be found! The Hot Honey Chicken sandwich was to die for also! The hot honey mixed with the grease from the chicken(no-it's NOT greasy tho!) dripped onto the plate making a delicious puddle of flavor to dip our fries and tenders into! WOW!!! So darn good! First time trying Chikn. I got the chicken sandwich with hot honey. Figured I'd try the medium so I could get a taste for it and not burn my face off. The chicken was over cooked and so crunchy I thought after the first bite I lost a filling. Not that hot but the spice is all I could taste. I didn't care for the pickles because they didn't seem pickled and I felt like I was eating a cucumber. The crinkle cut fries were cold and way over salted. I had to take a blood pressure pill after only eating a few of them because I could feel a headache starting. I had take out so can't really comment on the ambiance. Food is off the chart!! Beware when they say hot, it is hot, they aren't playing. That said I love the medium it's perfect and my wife who doesn't care for spicy gets the southern and loves it! Been here twice and I would say confidently it's the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. I'm holding out that fifth star for better drinks. The tea and the lemonade kind of taste like instant, and the fountain drinks are limited. A place serving chicken sandwiches should have some solid sweet tea and lemonade. Got food 20 minutes after ordering, which isn't bad. Crinkle cut fries were ice cold. Fresh cut fries were ice cold. Both deluxe smash burgers were warm. The bacon on the burgers were undercooked. 3 piece tenders (southern flavor) were ice cold, and so overcooked that they were like jerky. Had high hopes for this place. Ambiance was nice, but everything was sticky, from the table to the soda area. Also need to mention, they were well staffed and we went when it was slow, only 2 other patrons in the restaurant.
