4.5 stars. Raising Cane's restaurant chain has several hundred locations across the U.S. and other countries, but this Pittsburgh location only recently opened. The menu includes Combos (i.e., different combinations of chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, coleslaw, sauce, and fountain drinks), Tailgates (i.e., 25-300 chicken fingers for larger groups), Extras (i.e., a la carte foods), and drinks (e.g., lemonade, teas, and sodas). On a Monday afternoon, I waited in a long line of customers to place my order. The cashiers promptly took orders. I had to wait a while to receive my food, and three employees separately asked me why I was waiting. I only partially filled my cups so that I would not spill the contents when I was walking outside, so I wonder if the restaurant has cup holders/carriers. At home, my husband and I ate our Box Combos. We agreed that the chicken fingers were large, had juicy meat, and had crispy breading. I do not like other businesses' crinkle fries, but I did like the taste of the Raising Cane's crinkle fries. In contrast, my husband said that the crinkle fries were limp and should have been cooked longer. We agreed that the Texas toast was thick and was covered in the right amount of butter. The coleslaw, sauce, and sodas also tasted good.

We had to see what all the buzz was about so while out and about in Oakland, we decided to stop. This particular location is on fifth Avenue near all the construction. Also, very little parking close by. Unless you're on foot accessing Oakland restaurants can be a bit of a challenge locating parking. We circled around and ended up finding parking on Forbes and walked up. The store was clean and very spacious. We ordered the chicken sandwich and got the extra side of the cain sauce. The chicken and fries were good, but didn't really knock my socks off. I don't get the chicken finger thing. I guess it makes it easier for folks to eat? We love a good chicken sandwich, but chicken tenders on a bun was difficult to eat. We ended up just eating just chicken tenders and throwing the bun away. I've heard the cain sauce was so popular thought it was ok. I love coleslaw with my chicken tenders, so I ordered a side of it. It was so small like the size of a little side of ketchup. The chicken, fries & cole slaw were good, but not to make me return again because it was just average.

I mean if you're looking for chicken tenders that's what you'll find. Even the chicken sandwich is tenders in a bun. Absolutely loved the sweat tea. It's self-serve fast food that fits the bill for a quick meal. Being a college town and right next to the university you can expect a noisy crowd.

A little torn on this one. After the hype was maybe expecting more. Chicken was tender but could use more flavor... but I don't generally use sauces and people seem to rave about out the sauce so maybe that's my problem. I enjoy a good crinkle cut fry, so that was a positive. Fountain soda they give you a cup packed to the brim with ice so it was kind of like drinking a slushy... Texas toast was thick but kind of meh for me. Lines were long but with such a limited menu it actually moved very fast. The real problem here is finding parking. We ended up parking two blocks away in a garage. Probably wouldn't do that again, but we wanted to try something new.

We were excited for Raising Canes to open. My cousins in OH always rave about it. Now I see why. I'll start with the service and cleanliness of the restaurant. For only being open a few weeks, they're super efficient. There was a long line but it went fast. The ladies at the counter let you know they're open and to come down. They're patient when you're new explaining options and make ordering efficient. You also don't wait a crazy long time considering all the people waiting. They also have multiple people watching for people to finish and have wet wipes to wipe down the tables and chairs. Fantastic service! The food was really good. It was well seasoned and flavorful. They were big pieces of chicken too. We all really enjoyed it and will be back again.

Excellent chicken tenders! We ordered ahead and ate inside. It was really busy on a Saturday afternoon around 4pm. Not a ton of seating, so glad we got a table. It was very loud and busy. The food was all hot and fresh. They have the best tenders around. Crunchy outside and juicy inside. The fires were nothing special, typical crinkle cut. I didn't like the sauce. It had way too much pepper in it. They should have other seasonings or sauces to the menu. Come for the chicken, skip the rest

I don't typically review fast food venues however...My youngest son and I stopped by on Thanksgiving Eve. We've eaten at Canes in Ohio before so we knew what to expect. Pitt had a sporting event that night and Canes was pretty busy. Regardless we were able to order and received our food in 10-15 minutes. We both had four piece tenders with extra fries instead of slaw and bread. The canes sauce is the difference maker here. It is fantastic. Overall the venue was clean, workers seemed friendly and efficient. I enjoyed my visit and Canes is definitely a solid option for chicken.

Canes is some yum chicken fingers is it wait on a line worthy no its not but if there is no line then go on in packed with teenagers and such they are oblivious to how loud and how rude they can be order is easy the people working there are super friendly and nice and welcoming the fingers tasty their sauce tasty the buttery Texas toast is worth getting. the fries are just crinkle cuts tasty enough slaw was just slaw I am happy with just the fingers the toast and the sauce for a savory satisfying meal They also have fresh squeezed lemonade and soda drinks fresh hot chicken and your name is what they yell when its done They are open late till midnight so if your hungry go get some chicken about 15 for the full meal you see in my picture of course this is Oakland metered parking is a problem late night not such a problem

Raising Canes was the last place to try of my chicken tender trifecta in Oakland. Five stars for the atmosphere, space, and service. Three stars for the chicken tenders - here is the reason....the chicken tenders have zero seasoning, legit zero seasoning. They come perfectly crispy and tender, but that is it. You need that delicious sauce to get the flavor. If you were to order the tenders without the sauce, it will be one bland meal. The Box Combo is the perfect amount too - 4 tenders, Crinkle cut fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, and Cane's sauce. But there needs to be some seasoning on these tenders. I definitely enjoyed my meal, but Raising Canes ranks last, only because the tenders itself lack seasoning and flavor.

We came in after a Pitt lacrosse game. Pitt won by 1 :) We got our drinks (all lemonade because it's the best on earth). Our food came out quick, and the vibe was very upbeat and perfect for lunch or dinner. It was a little dirty, but the food made up for it. The chicken was so good with the cane sauce. My friend devoured the bread and didn't eat anything else. The fries were pretty good. And everyone was very nice. H2P!

We came to Raising Cane's before going to the WPIAL championship for basketball being played at the Peterson Event Center. Raising Cane's is found on Pitt's Campus on a main road. The place was packed, but had a pretty efficient method of getting people though. The place was clean with modern decor. The food is pretty good, but I wasn't overly impressed. We got chicken fingers, fries, and toast. People rave about the sauce. It was just ok in my opinion.

I love Raising Canes! And I know that this is the hot new restaurant in Oakland in the middle of a college campus. I ordered my food on the app before I got there. Arrived at the restaurant a few minutes e before my order was due to be ready. It was packed. I stood over to the side patiently waiting for my food. 35 minutes went by. I watched as people who came in a good bit after me stood in line, ordered, and received their food. Finally after about a 40 minute wait, my order was ready. I'll chalk it up to being new. But remember that this is a location with no parking and no drive through. It's tough. The manager, Jake, was very nice and was apologetic multiple times as I waited I'll be back again. Hopefully next time will be a bit quicker.

Raising canes is a chihicken finger joint that has picked up a lot of fans across America. ( I HAVE NO idea why! ) I saw them hyped up on TicTok... One Raising Canes opened I. PITTSBURGH OAKLAND AERA in the college part of town, there was a line out the door down the street and around the corner full of college students. I WAITED A WEEK BEFORE I TRIED TO ENTER. I finally got the chance to try this place out. One of the other reasons is that my youngest daughter said it was good. This place has an armed police officer at the door, although nice it doesn't seem to need one. It's been a week, and the kids are still crowded in the place. The food was mid at best, an average chicken finger joint, the seasoning was not consistent with the product, meaning one chicken finger was loaded with it, and the other was not. The sauce was a bit above average, not much. The fries are butt stank boring, and the garlic bread was average, not much butter. My daughter told me to get it buttered on both sides. I forgot to do that. Raising Canes is not worth a special trip. But if you're near one and wonder what the hype is, try it out. What the hell. The service was ok, and the ambiance is that of most busy college towns. There are 5 or six chicken finger places in Pittsburgh, PA. im thinking about doing a taste test and yelping all of them.

I am more of a wing sauce versus a dry rub person and while all the flavors of our wings were tasty, the sweet chili chicken and soy and garlic sauces really hit the spot for me! The chicken was perfectly crispy and while I love 98k Hamburger, it is less oily than their chicken which can be nice. The regular fried chicken is a bit less seasoned than that of 98k so really it's up to you and your preference.
