I've been coming to Chikoo's since 2017. I've been getting my brows threaded and underarms waxed regularly at this spot and I love it. Pros They are clean They are attentive (they get every last unruly hair) Affordable prices Extremely polite My only only con was pre COVID related, but now it is no longer an issue. Before COVID the wait times were ridiculous because of the lack of staff. Now because of COVID all services are by appointment only so you can get in and get out. Only one client is allowed inside at a time and the staff is cleaning stations between clients. So you can't totally feel safe while get pampered. read more

I have been coming here for the last 5 years to get my eyebrows threaded. They always do an amazing job and are very courteous and welcoming. Even with COVID, they are following state protocols and are being very proactive. You simply text them the time and date you want to come and fill out a consent form, and when you arrive they take your temperature. They also only allow one customer into their store at a time and have masks on the entire time! I trust them a lot with my eyebrows and they always do well. read more

Wonderful place to get your eyebrows done! I walked in on a Friday afternoon for eyebrow threading and a lip wax and was seen immediately- no wait! The service was both speedy and precise my eyebrows look amazingly sculpted and it wasn't that painful since these ladies definitely know what they're doing! They have a bunch of specials and combos and you can save my making an appointment through text! I paid $10 for a brow threading and lip wax which is phenomenal and they accept debit and credit without any hassle. read more

A fast and cheap place to manage unruly eyebrows? What more could you ask for?! As the name states, they specialize in threading and the ladies operating the business are quick and effective. I've gone various times throughout the day and have never waited more than 2 minutes. I've only used them for eyebrow threading, but they seem to offer lots of other services like facials. I live down the street so I came in to ask their availability. The woman had another client and looked me up and down from inside. She lets the client out, asks what my name was and I proceeded to explain that I wanted to make an appointment. She looks me up and down again, tells me to text the number the number in the window and but probably will not take me. I love this place. It's super clean (which is a big deal for me) and the owners and employees are so sweet and helpful. The owner personally performs a lot of the waxing and threading services herself and you can tell she really takes pride in her work. Not only does she do a great job, but she doesn't push you into getting other unnecessary services that you don't need. Also, the prices are extremely reasonable. I would recommend this place hands down as one of the best threading places in a 10 mile radius. Since my last review, they have moved. I had visited them thinking the same women would be there, but that wasn't the case. I asked if Betty was in that day. I was told she's not here anymore. That was it. I think the women who worked at the previous location never transferred over to the new one. After that response, I should have turned around and run. Brows were ok. I think she just cleaned them no shaping. I honestly don't know what she did, but I needed my brows threaded. Overall the whole experience made me decide not to ever go back. I've been going here for years for brows and Brazilian wax the owner and the other women are always so polite and great. Its VERY CLEAN!! Getting Brazilians aren't the most comfortable, but the owner is very sweet and talks you through it you forget (as impossible as it sounds) she has been doing my waxing for a while now and I feel like we've known each other for years. The also have a card where your 10th eyebrow is free & the do the same with waxing! Just got my herbal facial today. I had done it before and it's soo good. My face is cleaner, brighter and feels so soft. I also get chocolate wax which is soooo good for the skin. Usha is the best ljterally. She's so kind and gentle. And perks - it's a block away from my job. What a great find! I needed to get my eyebrows threaded, but I HATE getting them done because of the pain. This place is conveniently located right by the E and F trains I decided to stop in and try this place out. The lady who did my eyebrows did such a great job! and like Michelle H. said in her review the pain was minimal. You don't understand, I have no pain tolerance and I find threading soooo painful, but she was threading so fast that I didnt even have time to think about the pain. $5.00. The place looked clean. Great place for last minute facials, eyebrow threading and waxing. I walked in without an appointment hoping to get a quickie cleansing facial but ended up wanting the Gold Facial ($60) which was about an hour long. Plenty of cleansing, scrubbing, massaging and steaming. As usual, extractions are part of the process and although I really need it, I really dislike that part. I really don't need to be reminded that I have HUGE pores nor do I want to see what you are popping out of my pores, save that for your co-workers when I walk out. Other than those two little situations, I walked out rather satisfied. The place is not fancy, if you are looking for a spa experience, this is not it. It is no nonsense, get it done, in and out type of deal. No aromatherapy candles to scent the room, no new age muzak, no fancy product line to be pushed on you as you try to leave the establishment. My skin needed some TLC and got it. While I was there, a steady flow of regulars entered to get the eyebrows done. Everyone seemed to walk out quite satisfied. I will definitely return. read more

I used to come here before they moved to the new location and never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time, but at this new location, it seems like the wait is always long. The last few times I've come, there are 5 stations but only one person working. I live within driving distance so I usually drive to avoid the subway. The last time, I put 30 min on the meter and it wasn't enough time due to the long wait. This time I put 45 min and I'm thinking i might need to add more time to it (I'm waiting as I type this). It's great that they're busy, but how about enlisting more help so you can actually handle the amount of customers you're getting? Got a Brazilian here and literally looked like rice krispy treats were growing out of my skin 5 days later. And when I remembered, she def double dipped my wax stick over and over in the wax. So there's no telling how many other women's wax sticks were double dipped in their sessions. Very disgusting. A wax is def not a good idea to get at this place. My friend got her legs waxed here and said that her legs completely broke out. Yeah, that sounds like the double dipped bacteria laced wax that was used on her legs caused her legs to break out. read more

This review is for eyebrow threading only. In that department, these ladies are great! I came back a few times before posting a review to make sure it wasn't a fluke like so many other places I've tried. However these ladies are consistently good with eyebrows. They work fast and listen when I ask them to not make my brows too thin. In fact my brows end up looking much thicker and defined when they are done, I have no idea how. The best part is that it only costs $5. This place used to be a Supercuts hair salon and it looks pretty much the same. I believe they do other services as well for a fairly good price. I gave it only 4 stars because every time I go they ask if I want to thread my lip and I find that rude. I don't even have a mustache! I swear! read more

Where's Binky? I've been going here for 3 years and always had Binky do my brows. On occasions when she was busy or not in I would allow someone else to take care of me. I was never pleased with how it turned out with other people. On one occasion one of the visits was pure torture as the woman tore out my eyebrows slowly and painfully. So from that moment I vowed to stay loyal to Binky only. Earlier this year I noticed that she would never be there when I stopped by and so I assume that she's no longer there. I've allowed other threaders to do my brows instead but I'm never happy with the results. If anyone knows where Binky is working now, please let me know! read more

Horrible experience! I'm protective over my eyebrows but decided to take a chance on this spot bc I read good reviews. The girl who did my eyebrows did the WORST!!!!!! job I've ever had. Pulled out every hair individually, one at a time!!!! And tells me, "it's bc your eyebrows are really thick" ummmmm no you just don't know what you're doing. Been getting my eyebrows threaded for 10+ years and no one pulls every hair individually. my face was swollen, and broke out. AND my damn eyebrows are uneven. I absolutely love it here. It is the best place I have went to in Queens for threading my eyebrows and waxing my nose and upper lip. I always have my routine done by the owner and every time I go, she knows I only trust her and she never tries to push me off to someone else in her place like most places do when busy. They do a fine job when you can actually get in ... for some odd reason they only ever have 1 person working (even though other women are walking around the salon not seeing customers). So the wait is always atrocious. I have gone when they have first opened and still waited 30 minutes before being seen. It's awful. They are close to my apartment so I always want to give them a shot and hope that it's empty. But more often than not its fastest for me to go to Austin St and get my eyebrows done there. Not sure of these positive reviews. I'm starting to think these people that work here are only nice to certain people. Every time i came here, i always left feeling judged and a bit down about my looks. Which should be the opposite since the purpose is to get those eyebrows that make you feel fabulous!!! Whenever i came in, they would give me judgmental stares and notice when i was not looking, the bad looks they would give me. i also noticed the lady did not spend enough time on my eyebrows and kind of rushed the process. She also gave me the tissue to wipe off the hairs rather than herself!!! My eyebrows still looked the same. Not to mention it was very painful!!!! i tried to stay friendly but i noticed still how rude they really are. As i was paying the lady at front, i was polite and smiling. She did not even smile back and seemed uncomfortable/angry looking at me. Never again will i come here. I would not recommended this place to anyone. If you look a certain way, they will judge you for it and make you feel not welcome here. Spend your hard earned money else where unless you want to come here and feel unwelcomed and leave with nearly the same eyebrows you had as you came in or even worse!!! read more

Referred here by my cousin who loves the way they do her Brazilian. I decided to just get my armpits and legs waxed, and my eyebrows threaded. The prices were very reasonable ($10, $20 and $5). I didn't experience much pain at all, but I felt the wax was way too hot and she double-dipped. I highly doubt I'd ever get a Brazilian here based on that, but I'd definitely go back for the other services I got. read more

This place is so close to my sisters apartment and St. John's so it's always my go to! Eyebrows are only 5 dollars and everyone is super nice and caring. They make sure you come in and get taken care of. I had a new girl to it for me the last time and I was not really happy with it, but now I come here to ask for Usha! My go-to place! Go see pinky, she's great. She doesn't say much, but I have eyebrows that are thin and pretty sure I have a bald spot, but she knows how to work with them and makes them look great! This place is cheap and convenient! 5$ for threading eyebrows and it's right by the kew garden train station. It can't get better than that. I would travel from the city to this place after work because it's worth it (keep in mind that I live in Brooklyn). The lady that was doing my eyebrow was making small talks with me, asking about my day which I thought was very considerate! The threading process was quick and painless and everyone is so nice. I've been here twice for eyebrows and I've left satisfied after each visit. I also came here and got a facial. She was a little rough with the extractions, but she did a nice job! I probably would not make this my regular facial spot because it just really lacked the ambiance I was looking for.
