I have never eaten here. Only picked up an order for doordash. The lady at the front counter was very rude when i walked in the door, and then proceeded to be even more rude when i was doing my job and checking the bag to make sure the order was right. When i asked her what something in the bag was, for my validation, she said "the customer will know" i love sushi and the food looked and smelled delicious, but i personally will never eat here because of the extremely rude staff member i encountered today. read more

Very disappointing experience tonight. 10/10 will not be back. Service was absolutely awful, as we had the pleasure of what seemed like a server who was on his first day on the job, and maybe first day in a restaurant. After ordering drinks, and food, he brings the soup course to the table and delivered it with his thumb in the bowl. Of course I ask for another one, and he seems dumbfounded that I'd even care. He brings the salad course, and I ask for chopsticks, so that we could eat. He then proceeded to go help another table, then go to the computer, put in an order, and then disappear into the kitchen, all while I'm waiting for my utensils so I can eat. I finally get up, and get them myself. Now, I'm out on a date with my wife, to celebrate the raise she just got at work, so we're trying to have a romantic meal. Next, he brings out my plate of bbq pork katsu, with no bbq sauce, and not my wife's sushi. By the time he brings her food, my pork is getting cold, and tough, and I still have no bbq sauce, which I have to ask for. Again, he decided to put in an order before getting me my sauce, so that by the time he brought it, the food was very cold, and very tough. My wife ordered a rock lobster roll, which she quite enjoyed, but she had to eat alone, as I sent mine back. It seems like on a better night, it may be a decent place, but there are a million good restaurants in town. I'll be choosing a place that puts consistent and quality service as a first priority. I'd give 0 stars, since I left and had to go get dinner elsewhere, but the ambience was nice, and my wife did enjoy her sushi, so that deserves one star. Sorry about only leaving a 10% tip young man, but you've gotta earn those good tips through service. read more

We went to this restaurant based on the Yelp reviews for places close to the Hermitage. Had family in from CO & we had hoped for a quiet lunch, good atmosphere, good service, and clean. The restaurant was clean and the bathrooms were also well taken care of & even had a live plant to filter air. The 2-Star rating is due to service and food. Waitress was welcoming when we arrived. Ordered calamari and the scallops for two appetizers. When the waitress came with appetizers and forgot to bring the plates, soy sauce dipping bowls, and chopsticks. We asked for those and had previously asked for some chili sauce and that was also not brought to the table. *At the time, there was only one other table with two men at it and they left by the time we were mid-way through and one other couple came in after that, so it was slow. The scallops came on sliced tomatoes and they had not been well-seared, not very flavorful, would not order those again. The calamari was a mix of good and then some pieces that seemed to be very tough and over cooked. The main dishes were sushi rolls. The Murfreesboro roll was good but the trio roll was full of more panko than the salmon, tuna, or yellowtail. In addition, we had ordered some eel and it was not brought out, we had to ask for that as well. The ginger did not seem fresh, it seemed to be dried out and that seems to be one of the easiest things to control. At the end, we asked for one check. They brought out two checks. I paid with cash and left a 15% + tip. The waitress never said thank you, though the manager (maybe), owner (maybe) did tell us that on the way out. Great food - however - I'm giving this a 3 because their travel containers are TERRIBLY cheap! The driver who was the service that delivered our food had the containers leaking all over their car and broke the bag! They burned our hands when we grabbed it because the meal was still really hot. I'm from San Francisco where there are amazing sushi restaurants on every corner...literally. I am sooo happy to report that this place is fantastic! Super fresh fish, from the rolls to the sashimi. Hot, flavorful miso soup. The sushi chefs are more than accommodating to requests and they give you the option to make the rolls with soy paper instead of seaweed (which is a must for my husband). Tried this restaurant for the first time tonight. We both had hibachi. Mine was filet and scallops with double veggies and no rice. My husband got the filet with chicken. Both of our meals were perfect. This is not a hibachi where they cook in front of you and that's fine with us. The restaurant is very clean and well decorated. The lettuce wraps were very good on the first visit. On the second visit they were totally different. The first version was far better. My wife had the filet and lobster hibachi. I would strongly suggest, because the hibachi is not tableside, they should get PLATE WARMERS. Hot food on cold plates doesn't work for me. I put a piece of broccoli in my mouth that was ice cold. I have been to many Asian cuisine places, this one by far is the best. I have a Japanese restaurant literally 3 minutes from my house. I would come to Chikuyo's instead, is way better. As a matter of fact my Mom and I were so impressed that she's coming back tmw with family. The atmosphere is nice, the decor is beautiful, and this place is extremely clean. I was so surprised as we entered. The restaurant is located in a grocery store shopping center but by the look of the inside you would never know. The inside is beautiful and peaceful. Really eat sushi is very hard to find in Nashville. That said the sushi here is very good and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is quiet casual and we found the servings to be plenty. We've since returned and have had the same great experience. We start with the edamame, which is great, and have had sushi and tea each time so we haven't tried the other dishes yet. The jasmine tea is great. The only down side is that they do not have wine but you can bring your own bottle so that's actually a plus...I get what I want and don't pay restaurant prices. read more

I'm normally not one to leave bad reviews especially because sushi and Asian inspired food are some of my favorites. All of that to say this was some of the worst food I've ever had. The salmon and shrimp on top of the sushi were very fishy and the texture was not what it should be for sushi grade. I picked that off of the top and the actual cooked inside part was so bland that not even soy sauce and wasabi could save it. On to the chicken with broccoli. Upon opening the box the smell was foulllll and I'm not talking about just the smell of broccoli. The texture of the chicken was super chewy and the broccoli was extremely soggy. I was so excited about trying this place out after the rave reviews because I was in the area but please do not waste your money. I had to throw $27 worth of food away. I especially hate to write this review because the man working the front was extremely nice and helpful. I will continue to make the drive to my all time favorite in Murfreesboro after this experience unfortunately. read more
