I live in Lebanon and am always looking for a different sushi place. Fortunately, with the advent of FedEx, sushi lovers can generally find some place to scratch that itch. Decided to try Red Ninja in nearby Old Hickory. Nothing fancy but polite employees and above average sushi. I tried the "c" special which consisted of 2 specialty rolls and miso soup. Hamachi/Yellowtail is generally my marker bar for sushi places so I orders a nigiri order of that. Overall rice was a little under seasoned but was cooked properly. Size of rolls were above average and had a good amount of fish. Prices were great. I'm pretty sure I'll return. I like to support small private businesses like this, I hope you will as well. read more

I know restraunt is a hard business so I try and be kind. Tonight, we spent 86 dollars on an inedible meal. This food is horrible. Pre-made Cisco dumplings and crab salad shoved in a sushi roll. Bland, tasteless, disappointing. Old tasting sushi rice in the dishes. Sushi that we questioned the safety of ( and I have eaten gas station sushi) Hopefully this review will save you money, disappointment and maybe a gastro issue. read more

The food is really good here. The people are super great here. That's the four star experience. The setting is TERRIBLE. Little was done from the previous version of this establishment, which is very utilitarian and not a welcoming in-dining experience. The food is much better than fast food - it is WAY BETTER and great for sushi in the burbs - but the setting is low end fast food ie - wants you to take the food to go - detention room, over-lit and unappealing, and even fast food chains have upgraded to a better dining set up than this, and doesn't fit the food or do it justice. Little decor, no ambiance, uncomfortable booths. Fun music but the overbearing lighting really is something they should focus on that would make a huge difference here on if they could just change that. T They had a ton of food delivery pick up going on, which the set up seems to be more tailored to serve, but they have a great beverage menu offering alcohol which would need diners to maintain. Why have an alcohol license if you just want to be a to-go kitchen? They are on the corner of a nice retail area with a traffic light for ease with the busy road. plenty of parking, and they have a patio, but they need to put some effort in their dining area, at least fix the lighting!! Menu is a good mix of options, yet uncomplicated, nor overdone. A lot of eel sauce on the rolls on the menu. Food tasted of quality, good portions, and for price, which is same as others in the area. They only had two ppl visibly present working, but I felt like service was attentive, though If they get more in-store they would be struggling. Food was OK, but the atmosphere here could use a major overhaul! Whatever was there before must have left everything behind. Then the new owners added whatever junk they had left over from their last yard sale or got at the Goodwill 99 cent sale last Sunday for decoration. One side is a wall of windows that they have covered with black plastic landscape fabric and a room divider propped up against the window and held in place by the booths. K-pop (scantily clad Asian girls in schoolgirl uniforms) on a constant loop behind the sushi bar on a constant loop playing too loud. Paper photos printed and taped to the wall in the hallway of these same singers. Supplies stacked here and there. Add to that the poorly kept window blinds sagging in the front windows. Plastic popcorn container used as a planter on a bench by the front door. Dirty and worn floors. Just a very unkempt place. We purchased a Local Flavor coupon and decided to give it a shot. Be warned, though, we had their new lunch specials and upon paying were told it was only good at dinner! While it does not state that on the coupon, it does say "specials" are not included. I guess the lunch menu is a special. So we spent $40 on an OK lunch. If you have one, ask to order off the dinner menu. We will have to eat there again, but we will get it to go. As stated the food was OK. The ginger dressing is very good. The teriyaki shrimp was good as was the California roll. We will just never eat THERE again - just to-go and just to get back our investment. read more

Just paid $23 for lunch here, & I'm extremely disappointed. It's truly a shame that lunch around here is now over $20. I wouldn't mind paying that, if the food flavor meets the cost. Unfortunately my spicy udon w/ chicken was severely lacking flavor. Absolutely no spice, & it just tasted like wet flavorless ramen that you can buy for $2 at Publix. The chicken was depressing, & also lacked flavor. The fried Oreos were very good, but I'm still hungry after spending $23 which is not okay. I'll give it a try again in the future with the fried chicken, but the noodles get a 2/5 from me. Overpriced & flavorless. read more

Overall this wasn't bad for a late night sushi craving. The food arrived quickly and my delivery driver was super friendly. I used Uber Eats for my order. I was super relaxed in my home atmosphere with three boxes of sush lol. I will say the seaweed salad tasted a little like it was pre frozen. I'm a huge seaweed salad person so my judgement may come on strong. It just didn't live up to what I was wanting and had a fishy taste. This taste goes into some of the sushi for me. I love sushi and for me fresh sushi doesn't have a "fishy" taste some of this did with the tuna roll etc. The spicy yellowtail has a nice bite that is just enough heat. Sushi was good. Not the best I've had but service and food was quick. First time there do I will try something different next time. The chicken teriyaki looked good. I came into Red Ninja today and ordered plenty of different thing from the menu and I can tell you it was DELICIOUS. 100/10. The sushi is some of the best I've found in Nashville. I don't usually like raw fish, but from here I do. The owner and his brother are so nice and they make you feel welcome. You can tell you're supporting a small business as soon as you walk in and it feels like you're eating a home cooked meal from their kitchen. Not busy, not fast or attentive service... but the rolls were fresh and good. If you don't want a crowded bustling sushi experience and are not in a hurry, this is a good option. Pretty solid sushi they didn't have any sake at all which was disappointing but the food was solid. The spicy tuna wasn't melt your face off so I liked it. The steak was very tender on top of the first roll. read more

Bulgolgi was flavorless, small portions, dry and not worth the $20.95 price tag of mostly rice and zucchini. It did not come with Korean sides. Gyoza was hard and dry like it has been baked and not traditionally steamed or fried (in a wok or pan). I heard my server offering other customers dessert. She came directly to me with the check without asking if I wanted anything else at all. I commented on it and she did not return to my table to close me out. She got another person from the back to finish my service. She was the only one working the front of house while I was there (by the way). The food was so disappointing (no I did not finish all of it) that I went and got some Crazy Puffs afterwards. Still in search for some good Korean food around the Hermitage/ airport area. My girl gave it a 3 she had the Korean spicy chicken. She didn't like the rice because it was savory and the chicken seamed cheap. I liked the rice because it had this grilled kind of flavor too it 4.5. I agree on the chicken but the vegetables were good, The egg rolls were crispy but mushy on the inside. Good frozen ones. 3. The gyoza was good and crisp but not freshly made 3. The miso and salad were good standard 3.5. The chirashi assorted fish slices on top of rice. The fish was really fresh and good. 4.2. The restaurant was weird mix if fast food style and dinner nice. Also kind of bright. They are new so I cant hold it against them they are trying. The service was decent. I give it a 4 because they are new and they are trying and the fish was better than expected and better than some established places, If you like your fried rice in the savory side you are in for a treat. read more
