As a first time visitation goes, I was anxious because my kid is an incredibly nervous patient when it comes to her health and wellness checks. SO when I let her know we needed to go to the dentist it was a disaster! But what wasn't a disaster was that the day we arrived [[HIGHLIGHT]]ALL of the staff was friendly right from the moment we walked in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everyone is VERY well acquainted with how difficult it is for some kids and they made the entire process fun and explained everything to my kid in ways that kids can understand what was being done or needed from them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waiting room has a great sized TV where they are playing kids movies and they have tablets that kids can play on, although there was only one working tablet at the time of our visit- so kids had to "fight" for the use of the tablets. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My kid was immediately given a stuffed animal upon arrival, then when her routine check up was done she got to pick out a balloon and a toy from their toy box area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We also had to take care of some cavities and that was also another smooth procedure! My kid was able to choose a movie to watch during the whole thing and she was then able to choose TWO MORE toys! It was an okay experience overall, but definitely not great. The office felt very small and cluttered, and there was basically no privacy, which I didn't love. I brought my 11-month-old in because he already has several teeth and I wanted to make sure everything looked good and that I was brushing correctly. The visit itself was quick about 30-40 minutes. Brought my 4 year old child for a routine visit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While here I expressed how my child suffers from SEVERE ptsd. While in the visit I was questioned as to if why I haven't sought therapy and made feel like I was at fault by the dental assistant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I reminded her I was here for dental work not therapy nor to be questioned about my parenting. When the doctor came to visit he started making comments to my child about not getting a toy back unless he cooperated. The whole experience was terrible. I expected my daughter to be scared crying and out of control and they did an amazing job with keeping her calm and she had a little pain to no pain. I keep giving this place multiple chances only because they are open on Saturday's. The Saturday appointments are clutch for working parents except that they take forever. Don't expect for them to take you on time. I always get here early , and end up waiting for an hour or sometimes more before my child's name gets called. This office just wants to overbook their appointments to the point where the dentist rushed the exam and the waiting room was packed out the door and excessive wait time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I booked my 3 kids appointments together so I can supervise their exams like they always have for the past 2 or 3 years I've been at this office. This time they split up all my children and I had to juggle their exams[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. This time the denitst never spoke to me about his findings in my son's exam and the dental hygienist was the one giving details in which she told me that she was under qualified to so. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dentist skipped over me and went to the next patient.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My 2nd child got an exam but I refused xrays this time and this new dentist shamed me for not doing so.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then proceeds to start an exam on my daughter, doesn't ask her to scoot up in her chair, HE GRABBED HER BY THE ARMPITS AND YANKED HER UP WITHOUT ASKING FOR CONSENT TO TOUCH HER BODY!! I told him, "next time, you shouldn't be grabbing her like that, you could have just asked her to move up first." This dentist removed his gloves and said he was going to have another practitioner work on her instead. No apologies, nothing!!. My oldest son told me he the dentist also yanked him up too, but I couldnt see because they separated my kids into different rooms. He just touched my daughter making me uncomfortable, he yanked her forcefully enough that she had tears in her eyes so it was obvious she was uncomfortable as we waited for the next dentist. I had to have a talk with my children that how he yanked her was completely unprofessional and not her fault and people are not allowed to touch your body just because they are "professionals". This young and inexperienced dentist should be not be working with children if he thinks he can just treat them so disrespectfully. He walked away from a problem he created and had absolutely no intention to correct the trauma he caused to my child. He could have adjusted his attitude and apologize for his actions, instead his arrogance showed his lack of backbone and he cowarded away because of his unprofessional conduct was brought to attention. The office manager at Montebello is doing a horrible job, it is a chaotic mess and I will be searching for a better dentist office, it won't be hard. read more

First time mama here and I had some concerns with the pain my 1 year old was going through + a cyst he's had on his gums. Here's a message to the young man who evaluated my son. I understand you see plenty of patients on the daily but the way you disregarded my concerns was disappointing. After repeatedly brushing off my husband and I, I proceeded to ask if it was normal for the amount of pain my son has been in and he blankly said "how do you know he's in pain..." maybe because HE'S MY SON and there's been a drastic change in his behavior as he clenches his gums?? Honestly, this place is unprofessional, overcrowded, they're rushing everyone, no privacy when the Dr is speaking to you, the only good experience I had was with the front desk assistant. Love this place! I normally bring my youngest son here and my other ones go to a different place. I brought my oldest son here to get his K-9 extracted since they provide the laughing gas and they ended up finding more cavities when he just had X-rays and cleaning done a week before at his dentist! Took my son in for dental work and had a great experience at Children's Fun Zone Dental. Adrian, the dental assistant, was amazing--he helped calm my son's nerves and made him feel safe and prepared for the procedure. As a parent, it's scary watching your child go through something like that, but Adrian made it so much easier. The doctor was also very kind during the extraction, made sure my son wasn't in pain while numbing, and was very thorough with the X-rays. I even added Adrian as a preferred assistant on my kids' file! read more
