They serve the tacos out of a storage container with outdoor and covered patio seating on either side. The place was lovely, with many groups of people enjoying food drink and good vibes. I went with a few buddies and got the chile verde pork, barbacoa, and chicken tacos. I would rank them in that order respectively. Absolutely incredible tacos with a burst of flavor in each bite. Tacos Oscar offers up slightly more upscale Tacos with nuanced ingredients and intense flavors. During my latest outing I went with the mushroom, barbacoa, and chile verde tacos. Each of my tacos was great, but the mushroom one stood out. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly and had a slight crunch which gave them an excellent texture. They were also incredibly well seasoned. My barbacoa and Chile verde tacos were also solid with some nice topping variation that helped mix up the flavors and texture. Oscar's service is good and straightforward. Place your order up front and either grab a table there or walk to their back patio. I LOVE the back area on a sunny day and would highly recommend it. Each taco here will run you about 5-6 bucks so don't be too suprised by the sticker shock. I would say 3-4 tacos is the ideal range depending on how hungry you are. We ordered pork shoulder, chicken, and charred broccoli tacos, as well as a tostada with elote and an agua fresca. The braised pork pulled aprt tenderly to reveal the chiles that imparted their subtle flavor. The mayonnaise spread thinly across the tostada was equal parts spicy and tangy, and almost too intense if not for the corn and squash layered onto it. (Perhaps the veggies were slightly under-seasoned to balance the mayo? I was a bit underwhelmed by them.) The agua de melon was syrupy in texture with a smoothness you don't often find. I have been wanting to try Tacos Oscar for a while, and finally got to try it. It was Sunday around 11am and there was already a line, but it moved fast. They have outdoor seating both in front and in their back patio, the front being sunnier while the back was cooler and shaded. It does seem like it can get crowded there due to the amount of customers who may choose to eat here instead of takeout, though. The food came out within 5 minutes. They also have a self-service water pitcher, and pitchers of half-and-half and oat milk next to it, which I assume is provided for those who get coffee (I didn't read through the entire drink menu). I got the vegan breakfast burrito, which has pan fried potatoes, roasted peppers and onions, mayocoba beans, chile morita mayonesa, avocado, corn, cilantro in a flour tortilla and it contains soy. It was savory, just a little bit spicy but tolerable for someone who can handle just mild level so I felt it was a good addition for providing more flavor given vegetarian burritos can otherwise often end up very plain. Quite a bit of avocado. I liked the potatoes and beans, and the insides didn't feel too mushy texture-wise. Admittedly not the hugest quantity for a burrito of this price ($15 before tax/tip) but I appreciate that they have several vegetarian and vegan options on their menu. I also ordered the strawberry agua fresca - listed as agua de fresca on the menu and this is the only flavor available, for $6. It was pretty good, fruity and sweet but not overwhelmingly so. I just came back from Austin, Texas so the bar for my expectations for breakfast tacos were set high ... Tacos Oscar met those expectations. Absolutely, go! I had multiple tacos (egg and bean and cheese) and a bite of my friends' burrito. The burrito is the way to go!!! The chips and salsa were interesting, salsa was super thick and not my favorite. My friend paid extra for the habanero salsa and that was definitely the move! Parking in the neighborhood was plentiful and despite other reviews I did not see anyone experiencing homelessness and appreciate that they give back 1% of their sales to combat this in the community. Additionally there's an epic wine bar around the corner and Tacos Oscar has a $5 corkage fee. Love this and appreciated their curated local alcoholic beverage options too.
