Chili hotpot has been one of the decent hotpot places in Edmonton over the years. I'd give them 7.5/10 for the quality and variety of their food, for lunch and dinner. They stand out in having more and better drinks than other hotpot places.

It was a very nice place. The staff were very friendly and help ful. We loved the cat robot server, that was a selling point for us to come in. The food was amazing. Such a fun and yummy experience

Place is good for a hot pot. I really liked the large selection of meat, veggies, and other hot items you can order. I ended up ordering too much, but the owners were really kind and didn't charge me extra. The place itself looked like the general run down older Chinese fare place. However, don't be fooled, great food. A little pricey for 30 bucks for an evening meal, and I don't really eat enough meat to feel like "I got my moneys worth" but really great fresh produce and good cuts of meat. I also really enjoyed their fried rice and their fried wontons. Loved the people who owned it and also served us, really friendly. There was a great selection of broths to choose. I chose the Tan Tan because I like spice. All in all a fun interactive experience!

5/5 - 10 if I could rate it that high. We visited Edmonton just for fun. I've always been a big fan of Hot Pots as we do it at home on special occasions. So I looked for one on Yelp in the Edmonton area and this place had the best reviews. I didn't really know what we were walking into. From the outside, it may seem like a sketchy place. But the moment we walked in, we were greeted and sat down at a table. This was around 5pm on a weekday so it wasn't too busy. But from the start the ladies there were helpful, personable, and very funny. There was a wide selection of choices. Great Dim Sum. And even ended with some desserts. The ladies came by from time to time asking how everything was - they were always on the ball. I'm extremely impressed. It was a little pricey, but I would've paid the same amount at some other restaurant that gave poor service for mediocre food. So this was worth every penny. My friend and I were saying how this was probably one of the greatest dining experiences we've ever had. I'm definitely bringing family & friends back here - and probably make a point to drive up to Edmonton just to eat here.

All you need to know about Chili Hot Pot is: a) It's good b) 20% off if you go after 9 pm! Sweet deal. Regular $25, so only $20 after 9pm! Plus $2 for your choice of broth. Lots of cool ones to choose from. I went with a half and half option ($2.50): - Lamb in a spicy broth - Pork with apple slices Both were good but the lamb's spiciness took over and I couldn't taste much of the pork broth afterwards. If I were to do it again, I would just get one main broth and stick with it for the night. We ordered a ton of good food - selection is pretty decent and they even have a couple good random things you can get (I'm talking about salmon sashimi, lamb dumplings, fried rice with egg and green onion was tasty). Place was surprisingly not that busy for a Friday night (didn't even need to make reservations although we did). Service is on and off - they were pretty slow to bring out the good stuff...don't know if that was on purpose or not. Pretty good place and I like the deal after 9pm! Plus you get dessert at the end too (we had mango). OH - make sure you get a lemon ice tea ($2.50) - comes in awesome jar and definitely quenches your thirst.

It drives me crazy that this place doesn't do a late night special but I GET IT .... it's so good they don't have to! The quality of meat here is beyond any late night special that's running in this city. On top of that, their milk tea and in-house made iced tea is delicious. Then we have the service ... it's amazing. Absolutely perfect. The people working here are consistently welcoming and enjoyable to be served by. Sauces? Great. I don't know what they're doing to their bean curd but it is so good. Also, the included dessert of a strawberry pudding and mango pudding is a perfect way to end the meal. This is one AYCE that I enjoy on a regular basis. The value and quality is actually worth what you're paying here.

During the few days of extreme cold in Edmonton, it was only appropriate to seek warmth at a hot pot restaurant. After hearing about this place from my parents, I think I have found my new favorite hot pot restaurant. It is always a great feeling to enjoy a warm satisfying lunch on such a cold day! Atmosphere: 3/5 On the outside, this restaurant appears quite unassuming, but it does have an open, comfortable, and clean environment inside. My only complaint is that the tables tend to be a bit too close together so there is not always enough room to place all of the food! There are carts next to the table though. Thankfully, the restaurant was not too busy so it was ok to use the carts. Several TVs and overall a quiet environment during the lunch hour. Parking can be difficult behind the restaurant so most tend to parallel park along the main road. Food: 4.5/5 I love the entensive selection of items which distinguishes Chili Hot Pot from other hot pot restaurants with lunch specials. The vegetable basket is a little smaller than other restaurants but the main entree sizes make up for it! The food was fresh, and I love the variety of sauces. Many soup bases to choose from and the soups themselves have a lot of ingredients as well in comparison to other restaurants. I usually end up getting the same few items in other restaurants but find that I can try many more things including hot dishes here! Service: 4/5 Attentive and friendly; efficient Price: 4/5 Very reasonable for the amount and quality of food Overall: 4/5 I really enjoyed this hot pot restaurant. Given the extensive selection for their lunch special, I would love to come back as I can mix and match many different items including soup bases.

I think the service here is top notch and I would come back here for that alone. The food was quite good and fresh...it was my first hot pot experience. I have no complaints except my own fault for order a too spicy soup. Careful with the Currys....when they say they are spicy they mean it. The lunch special is a great deal at 13.95 and I left super full. Friendly atmosphere and very clean restaurant.

Broth menu... pork stomach and white pepper and lamb are bomb

This was my first time visiting chili hot pot and I was not disappointed! The selection of broths and sauces was so much more extensive than other places in the city. Also, the selection of meats and veggies was great and everything was fresh. The oysters were the size of my hand . The service was friendly and timely. A nice added touch was the water with lemon, lime, and cucumber. I would highly recommend the lamb broth... it was very tasty and had great depth of flavour. You can select one flavour broth or two for a few dollars extra. Well worth it for the variety. If you go after 9pm like we did there is also a late night special price.

I come here often because the hubs loves hot pot. We have been here a couple of times for dinner with friends. After 9:00 pm it's 20 percent off which is a great deal, however I don't eat enough to justify hot pot ayce. I love coming here for lunch which is an amazing deal and oh so delicious. For 15.95 you get to pick 5 items including hot foods and it also comes with a free veggie basket. For $2 you can pick an extra soup or any additional items ($2 each). Their milk tea and lemon tea are sooo yummy! My favorite soups are the borscht and spicy lamb. I never finish my items but my hubby is always on top of it!

And we also came with a very large group. Honestly they had all the reason to kick us out, but the staff took care of us regardless. Since we were late we just picked the soup broth and 5 add-on's. I got the Herb and Lamb broth. It was delicious, savory, and hearty. And for the add-on's, I picked the sliced Beef Sirloin, Enoki Mushroom, Napa Cabbage, Fried Tofu and Flat Rice Noodles. They didn't have Fried Tofu so I asked to substitute for Fried Bean Curd instead. Looking back at this now, I'm glad (and I'm sure the kitchen was too) that we only picked 5 things. AYCE would've been too much and too overwhelming with all the options there. And honestly, they gave us so much for the 5 things we ordered. It was a whole spread of meat and veggies. The food selection was quite impressive from the meat balls, cooked food, innards, veggies, seafood, noodles to desserts. It was hard to decide what to eat. The sauce bar was also quite extensive there are endless combinations. Service was surprisingly decent for an Asian restaurant. Staff stopped by regular to clear dirty plates and refill soup broth. They even dropped off extra plates of beef slices and wontons when we asked. Overall, I thought the price was reasonable for the food selection and the service exceeded my expectations for a buffet setting. Parking was alright. I guess if you only want hot water it's free? But who would do that?? They also have additional items you can add for a cost but we stuck to the AYCE menu. $3.25 for unlimited refills of canned pop or $8.95 for 1 pitcher of their fresh beverages. We ordered a half non-spicy pork bone broth and half house special butter spicy. You can adjust the spice level and although we asked for medium spicy, there was definitely heat to it! Once we put in our order, we went to the small sauce station to make our sauces. Not as many options as other places in town, but did the job. The broth pot came out first - a communal pot for the table, so be aware. Topped with a grill plate over top for your BBQ. The spicy butter was indeed spicy and heavy on the grease. I don't think I'd order it again. The pork was better, but although both had lots of aromatics in them, we both found them to be rather bland. The hot food options were ok. You get 1 order of enoki beef rolls per table, already cooked, and they were tasty. Didn't love the crispy pork. As for the rest, our favourites were the shrimp paste, the hot pot beef, hot pot lamb and quail eggs (already cooked and peeled). Service was incredibly attentive and friendly. The moment we had an empty plate, it was whisked away. No complaints there. Overall, it was about $90 for 2 people before tip and drinking pop. Definitely not a cheap meal. That said, service was great and the ventilation was good where it wasn't stuck to our clothes & hair (often we leave these restaurants smelling like hot pot forever). The novelty is fun with both hot pot & BBQ, but I didn't find the BBQ great. Would be better going to an actual BBQ restaurant for BBQ. For the price, the options are limited compared to other places.
