Fish Taco / Diablo Pork Taco

Chili Lime is a small little strip mall destination that could definitely use a bit more heat in the winter - it was very cold inside. Staff is friendly, but it's solely counter service although they make the tacos fresh. This is a 3.5-star review (slightly above average but not quite enough there for me to go to a 4-star). The tacos were mixed. I literally loved the Chili Lime Taco, the Diablo Pork was solid, but the Greek and Fish Tacos were subpar. There are plenty more options to try and id be back to experiment for sure, but the Chili Lime would be a must and highly recommended.

American food in taco shapes. A safe option for those not feeling overly adventurous. This is not your regular taco joint. I would actually stay clear of the classics like carnitas or al pastor here. Typically the less traditional, the better here. Their bang bang tacos are a crowd favorite and they make a solid steak quesadilla. In lieu of more traditional Mexican salsas they have sauces you'd see at a bar & grill that are fun to try on their burritos. Chili Lime takes up two separate stalls in the building that are connected by a door within. On the right you have the food counter and tables to dine at, on the left there is a bar. You can order food while drinking at the bar, but if it's busy it's usually faster to go to the other side and order. I've never had an order take more than 10 minutes. They have a lot of regulars in the bar side which makes for a fun atmosphere, but sometimes it can be difficult to get the bartenders' attention.

How do I love thee Chili Lime? Let me count the ways: One - Our group of three found you curbside at Forgotten Star Brewing slinging your goods. Love that you were available to feed our hungry tummies right when and where we needed you. Two - You gave us the ability to mix and match tacos. Allowing my variety-loving self to sample three different types! Yay! I chose the bang bang shrimp, diablo pork, and chili lime steak. More about those next. Three - You offer up some damn tasty tacos and tots! We ordered a total of nine tacos and enjoyed every single one. The bang bang shrimp was hands-down our favorite though. While you were out of a few things, you have delicious offerings that make me want even more! Four - Churros. Let me tell you how much I love churros. Cause it's a lot. Plus, these bad boys are full of a delicious caramel filling. Legit, the best way to top off our fantastic meal. I really only have two desires that you don't fulfill. The first being that you don't have a very active social media presence or website; making it difficult for me to stalk you when I'm in town. The second is that I live in Colorado, so I can't nosh on your tacos and churros more often! That being said, I know I will be back when I'm in town to get more bang bang shrimp and churros. Until we meet again, Chili Lime...

You can find the Chili Lime truck at many of the taprooms. They have a solid line up tacos with various protein options. We tried the al pastor tacos, very good. They also have nachos and tatar tot sides.

We were in the area and wanted to grab a quick lunch before finishing our errands and regretted giving this place a try. The management of this facility obviously does not exist. The employees seemed depressed and did the bare minimum of service. It was our first time and by the time we ordered we had to wait a little which was totally fine but while walking to get our drinks you could see so much crap on the floor and the bathroom was disgusting. Our food was about a 2/5 as well. We have had better in other places and our stomachs are queasy afterwards. We walked back in to toss our trash and the employees were sitting on the counter on their phones and didn't say anything to us. Obviously no one really cares here so don't waste your time.

I have mixed feelings about Chili Lime - I'm averaging everything out to 3 stars. GOOD: 1. TASTE: First -- foremost and most importantly -- the food tasted great! I had a steak burrito with "chipotle pineapple habanero" sauce. I also had tots with "saucy" flavor. The flavors were awesome. 2. PORTIONS: The portions were large. I'm a big dude, I was very hungry, and I left completely satisfied by the amount of food. BAD: 1. POOR BEEF QUALITY: My steak was so tough, it felt like I was chewing on rubber bands! If you're gonna buy cheap beef, you have to do what the Mexican restaurants do...pound the hell out of it with a meat tenderizer hammer so it's nice & soft and not like a rubber bicycle tire. 2. PRICE: It was kind of expensive when compared to comparable places with comparable quantities of food and similar setups. 3. CLEANLINESS: The restaurant itself was somewhat in disarray and in need of a good cleaning. The window sills were gross with lots of old food and insects. The back (by the soda machine) looked like a storage room with boxes, plastic bags, stacks of soda, etcetera. And in front, 2 giant soda coolers - one COMPLETELY empty - and a big empty cardboard box on the floor, between the cooler and the front counter. Come on! A little attention to detail, someone? 4. LAYOUT: Layout needs fine tuning. There should be a trash/empty tray receptacle by the front door. There were 3 big ones in the far back, in the dark, by the soda dispenser. So everyone has to walk in back to bus their stuff when they leave. Also, get rid of the ugly empty soda cooler by the front counter; it blocks your cool giant skull mural. 5. WEEKEND STAFF: The young dudes behind behind the counter were pretty unprofessional, they looked like they were up to something, seemed like ordering food was a big inconvenience for them, and acted like they couldn't wait to go home. I think there should have been at least one adult over 30 years old on the premises, holding down the fort and keeping a lid on things. I get the impression that these guys are better at running a food truck than a brick & mortar location. Probably won't be back. -Daddy Maxx Retro

So happy for a new option in the Champlin area. My husband and I stopped in today while running errands and we were happy with the restaurant, the service and the food. The store is easy to access and parking was simple. The store is clean and the restroom is too. We asked for suggestions on what to try and ended up with street tacos, loaded tots and quesadillas. The street tacos were tasty and I think my new favorite is the Moroccan followed closely by the Greek. The loaded tots were the steak version and very good. Quesadillas were also steak and had excellent flavor. The red (hint of pineapple) and green sauces were fresh and tasty. If you have the opportunity to chat with the owner and staff you'll find them friendly and learn about how they got to where they are today. I always enjoy getting to know the people behind the business.

    Chicken and tzatziki bowl

Amazing! We wanted to try something new and I'm glad we were able to support a local business! The loaded tots were cooked perfectly, not oily and the sauce is the bang bang sauce from the bang bang shrimp tacos which we also tried. Highly recommend the bang bang shrimp tacos super delicious! We also tried a chicken and tzatziki sauce bowl fresh and well seasoned. The Bavarian cream churro was amazing, overall this was a super satisfying place to eat and highly recommend stopping by if you're looking to try a local taco spot! The staff/owners are great super nice and have us good recommendations!

Pour is in a little strip mall. They have added black curtains and some cozy seating areas from when we were here last. Nice updates. Our waitress was very accomdating until she got busy then we felt we were forgotten. We ordered the Drunken shrimp , bread with olive oil and the avocado toast to start with. The drunken shrimp is just as good as we remember the saffron sauce is sooooo good! but there were 3 of us sharing the apps and it only came with 2 crostini's we asked for a 3rd so we could each have one but little did we know that one very small skinny piece of bread had a $1.00 charge to it. The steak bites with their homemade blue cheese sauce was to die for melt in your mouth!! I even asked if we could buy some of the blue cheese sauce, she said no but that she would bring us another dish of it but she never did. My girlfriend ordered a cranberry mule drink, she was charged an extra $1.00 for the cranberry. We also ordered the goat cheese with sauces that were very delicious with an ample amount of crackers. We got the chocolate Ganache cake to share for dessert. But............ the waitress never took our empty dirty plates but showed up with the dessert with the mess on table, I asked for extra clean plates but she never brought them. Everything we ordered was very delicious, but as the night progressed our service got worse, we asked for the bill but she never came back to get our payment and we had questions my girlfriend walked it up to the bartender with our payments. 2 of us were paying cash and one a credit card and we were charged an extra fee of $5.18 for her using a credit card. That is when we saw the $1.00 charge for 1 piece 3/8" bread and the $1.00 for cranberry mule. Talk about nickel and diming. We would love to go back but unsure if I can get past some of these things. Also, now looking at the bill even closer, none of us had a mimosa and we were charged $8.95 for one.How did we miss that? All added up we paid $16.00 more than we should have. CRAZY!! Sadly, Don't know if I'll be back.
