First of all the restaurant was filthy. Looked liked it had been hours since a broom was used. Tables weren't cleared, etc. The chips were stale, the lettuce was bitter and the turkey sandwich was uncooked. If given the choice of eating there again or going hungry, I'd gladly go hungry. read more

I would give it 5 stars for my first visit, but this time it's bad. The food is ok. I stay at Courtyard from time to time, and this is one of the 4 places within 3 mins' walk. Last week, the waitress was super sweet. She recommended quesadilla over fajita, and I love it! Corn and spinach with garlic roasted tomato were good. Melting chocolate cake was yummy. Cannot finish the whole cake though. I was playing with the device on the table, and had no issue with paying my check. Despite many of my colleagues' bad experience here (green stuff in beer etc.) and dirty floor, I come back. Today, the waiter (with hair) recommended taco over fajita. I ordered tacos (fish, pork, shrimp). Later, I added the side spinach with garlic roasted tomato. I asked whether they can make it without garlic. He said it's already made at 7 am everyday (surprise!). He asked whether I want spinach or salad, I said I want this one, just without garlic (or just removing them even if it's already done, but no big deal if they cannot remove them). He said he'll try. After over 30 minutes, I still haven't got anything, during which I asked one or two times when it'll be ready. He's so impatient that he interrupted me after I just said the first word "When...". Surprise! Still no big deal, just worried about my schedule. After 25 minutes, he brought me a house salad! That's ok. I said I didn't order this. He was very angry, and said that's the best he can do. It's a side salad! He was very unhappy, and put it away. Ok, still no big deal. I'm a nice person and never get angry. 10 minutes later, still had nothing to eat. I asked again when my taco will be ready. He was very angry, and said "I'm sorry, I cannot please you. I ask the manager to come." What? It sounded like I'm an unreasonable person. I've never had any issues with any waiters before. Now I'm upset. Continue waiting... Several minutes later, the manager came with a bowl of uncooked spinach and cherry tomato, and asked, "Is this what you want?" I was very surprised by the waiter's understanding. I pointed at the menu and told him I ordered this before - it's a small dish and cooked. Fortunately, the manager was not so dumb and got what I meant. Over 35 minutes after I ordered, the manager finally brought me taco. The issue is expectation. If I order a specialty dish at a high-end restaurant when the waiter tell me it takes 40 minutes to make, I can wait, and will just start with appetizers. But taco is definitely one of the highest volume category at a Mexican restaurant, so I assume all contents are prepared or cooked, and just assemble to order, which should not take more than 10-15 minutes. I wanted to pay my check with the tablet asap, but the button was not activated, so I asked the manager when he brought the side (finally, the right one). It turned out they put the tablet for this table on the next table. Good, another mistake! The manager's attitude was good though. He apologized etc. What made it more interesting was that I got chicken taco instead of fish. I wanted to know whether it' she waiter's error in taking order, or whether it's kitchen's error in preparing the order. The manager was certainly not around. The waiter was just a step away from me. I tried to get his notice, and wave at him several times. I was pretty sure he intentionally ignored me. Finally, I decided to walk to him and ask him. He said he got chicken, shrimp and something, and said he had something else to do. Good job, another mistake! I just ordered two items, and neither was got right. If you just expect waiters to do one right, that'd be taking the right order. I told him I ordered fish instead of chicken. He said if I just want another taco, he can give me an extra one, which sounds like I intentionally pick on him in order to get another taco for free. Btw, thanks to the travel budget I still tipped enough! After waiting for 35 minutes for taco, I won't wait any longer, and I said that's fine no worries etc. Everyone makes errors, but normally if waiters have a good attitude and try to fix the issue, customers are ok. What made me unhappy was that he does not acknowledge his errors and makes me look like an asshole. I'm pretty sure he's complaining with other waiters about me. Regarding the food, pork taco is great. Shrimp and chicken are average. Certainly better than its neighbor (Tacobell), but considering 6 mistakes he makes, I'm not sure I'll go back very often. I ordered the New Prime Rib fresh mex bowl. I got no crumbled Queso my avocado was sliced so thin I could see through it. I asked for more but never got any. I had to ask for Queso also,never saw any. I asked for tortilla which I got but was microwaved very hard not eatable. My platinum was pitiful, weak. On my last visit to Chili's on the 15th of this month my wife and I went in around 6pm and they were not too busy. Thinking it would be a good experience this time we were seated after a few minutes and the wait started, finely the waitress came in with the minus. I usually like Chili's however this one leaves me confused as to what in the world they are doing. When we arrive and are seated our waitress takes about 15 minutes to come to our table and proceeds to tell us why she wouldn't stay and dine. First of all they were out of about 10 items affecting close to half of the menu. We decided to go ahead and stay , our mistake! We ordered Margarita grilled chicken which comes with rice and black beans. We had plenty of beans but really NO rice to speak of and the whole dish was very very bland. I ordered a Patron margarita which had almost no Patron in it. I have had lots of them at other Chili's and this one was definitely not the same it tasted like lime and water. Update: 12-5-16 I received a call from the Area Manager apologizing for the service and situation that occurred and said that the actions were in no way in line with the Chilis/Brinkers values. He was sincere in his apology and sent me some Be Our Guest Cards that I will use and see how things go down next time. Appreciative of him trying to make it better. He was also appreciative of me letting him known what was going on at the store. Came in at places my order and believe the bartender waited to put my order in later. Worst Chilis Service Ever! I come in and go to the bar to place an Togo order and the bartender has an attitude when he asks for the name on the ticket. I say I need to place an order. Doesn't give me a menu at first. I have to look online and the FINALLY asks if I want a menu. Uh yeah that would be fabulous. Then doesn't ask if I would like a drink. I have to ask for a tea. I drink my tea and the bartender never asks if I want a refill or fills my drink back up. He watches the football game on the tv. I am the only one at the bar! Dude how bout filling my drink up. Then a waitress comes in and complains about surveys and the bartender says when he is CEO things will be different. Yeah, chilies will go bankrupt. He says to the waitress he is going to go back to bouncing. This is where I can't believe my eyes. In between placing my order and him talking to the waitress the bartender pours him a drink from the well!!! Not a coke or Pepsi or Dr Pepper, but an alcoholic drink. He puts it on the area where the waitresses would pick up the order, waits for a second and downs it and then chases it with orange juice or pineapple. I wait till a manager comes out and ask if bartenders are allowed to make drinks he says yeah like I am talking about a soft drink. I say no, alcoholic drinks and I explain to him what I saw. I also explain that this was the worst service I have ever experienced at a chilis and the bar area is a complete mess. Wash towel on the table food on the floor and napkins all over. I told the manager I don't think TABC would appreciate hearing or knowing a bartender is drinking on the job. He tells me he appreciates is but with a smirk I don't really believe that he appreciates it. Server on receipt: says quaid. Time order went in 10:16, but I gave my order to him around 10:02!! Sat a full hour before we got our food. Well well. A traditional Chilis restaurant here. A little dirty and a little noisy but our service on a busy night was actually pretty decent. The chips and salsa were okay. Some chips were soggy. Our experience at this Chili's started off bad when I found out at 6:30pm that they had run out of sweet and sour mix for a margarita on Friday that was Cinco De Mayo day. There after it was worse. My order was cold and was sent back, the replacement order did not have the margarita chicken on the plate, just plain grilled chicken. One of my sons order was fouled up as well and came back just as messed up as before, my wife's plate was cold, my other son's steak was not cooked correctly. Went to Chilis on 6/14/16. It was disgusting ! They were understaffed and the restaurant was filthy. Tables weren't bussed and dirty dishes and old food remained out for all to walk by. The floor in the booth where I sat had old food, silverware , & napkins underneath. I ordered a drink and when the waiter brought it to me, there was a bug crawling over the ice. This is one of our favorite stops when meal time and we're in Alexandria. My favorite is Cajun Chicken and Salmon with Broccoli & asparagus. My husband has steak with loaded mashed potatoes and broccoli. Wonderful Salads. Also an all you can eat soup & salad PLUS their chips and the best salsa around comes with the all you can eat soup and salad. Me and my boyfriend just went here as a date night, and this was the WORST restaurant in Alexandria by far!!!!!!!!! The service and food were horrible, like nothing good about it. Absolutely worse chilies I have ever been. Servers were yelling from the kitchen and yelling about my table looking at them. The servers are all miserable because the manager is horrible to them!! One employee was very noticeably sick and manager refused to let him go home without going to the doctor.
