Metal detector as a sign of safety? Since I just walked right on through it, and nobody was even monitoring it I would say nah , not so much. What really kills me. Is when you look at this place up it is advertised as a sports bar; first one I've ever seen with one TV. Dont get me wrong I actually like dive bars as long as they're relatively clean and somewhat of a safe area and maybe have more than three beers on tap. I'm picky that way ‍

The staff always seems nice, and I've only had to wait once out of all of the times that I've been. Sometimes it is really loud, sometimes it is not, so if you have kids or something like that, I suggest you pay attention to what games are on and things like that. My kids are grown, so I don't worry about that, but I do have misophonia so sometimes it's a little too much to go during like a WVU game or UFC fight. If you aren't going at those times, it's actually a really cool place to hang out.

If you can, I'd recommend checking in and joining the waitlist beforehand so you can get seated as quickly as possible. Like most Texas Roadhouse locations, the atmosphere was buzzing and lively with all the college football games playing, the staff were super nice and attentive, and the food was excellent. My usual order is the rare Prime Rib with a Caesar Salad and Steak Fries -- with a side of creamy horseradish, of course! The salads at TR are always solid, the steak fries were especially crispy that day, and the prime rib was perfect: super tender, perfectly cooked, and not overly fatty. My sister also tried their Full Slab Ribs for the first time, which are supposedly award-winning, but I personally wouldn't give them that much credit. While the ribs were tender and well-cooked, they lacked seasoning. The BBQ sauce was there, but it didn't add much flavor. Maybe it was just an off day, but I'd call them mediocre at best. All in all, this Texas Roadhouse lives up to its reputation for great service and solid steaks -- but maybe skip the ribs and stick with the classics.
