I like the Chili's in Bel Air - particularly the take-out staff that put together our to-go orders. It's not easy with a family of 7, and they always get it right. Odd thing happened on the way there though, so let me tell you all about it..... There are many speed bumps in the parking lot of the Chili's. Like, tons. Which is fine, I figure a little caution in this hectic world is a good thing, and since the take-out staff at Chili's is so superior - the last thing we need is someone taking them out at 50 mph. I say bravo to the speed bumps. The dude in front of me on this particular night however was the most hyper-cautious-speed-bump-rider I've ever seen. We noticed after the first two bumps that he was taking an inordinate amount of time on each one....so I actually timed him on the third one. Brace yourself. 18 seconds. Dude took 18 seconds to successfully go over 1 Bel Air Strip Mall Speed Bump. I wanted to ask him about it -- but sadly I turned into the "take-out" parking spot at Chili's and he headed off towards the Taco Bell Drive-Thru. (Strange that he put THAT much caution into the speed bump, but then threw caution to the absolute WINDS OF CHANCE by trusting the drive-thru folks at Taco Bell.) -- but I digress. Chili's take-out usually takes about 3 minutes to make sure everything is neatly bagged and that i've been appropriated the correct amount of sporks and whatnot. During this time, I formulated the following back-story for the person in the '04 Corolla that cautiously goes over speed bumps. It truly is the only logical conclusion. Jesse was hungry, and wanted Taco Bell. He had recently gotten all his required maintenance on his '04 Corolla up to date, and the National Weather Service was not predicting any violent Tornadoes in Bel Air for the next 15 minutes, so he figured he'd cautiously go get a bite. Just then, his phone rang. He waited for the caller-ID to confirm that it was someone he knew and trusted without question. It was. It was Hank. Hank: Jesse! Dude. Remember that game of Jenga we were playing last Tuesday that got interrupted because you needed to get some more inoculations? Jesse: Yes. Hank: Do you still have the game set up? Jesse: Of course I do. We hadn't completed the game,, and it would be crazy to put it way before we do. Hank: Well, what are you doing right now? Jesse: Going to Taco Bell I feel. Hank: Awesome! Grab me some Cinnamon Twists on your way over, bring the Jenga game, and we'll finish it up. The old lady just went to Delaware to buy some tax-free crap and won't be back for hours. Jesse: I'll be there in Twenty. ....thus, Jesse and Hank would eat food that was less-superior to the Chili's in Bel Air whilst my family and I would eat food that was far-superior to the Taco Bell in Bel Air, and that's all I have to say about that. read more

Watching the Yankees play the Os. Sat at the bar for quick service. Long wait for a table. Bar was handled in a professional manner. Happy hour includes 2 beers for the price of one - nice. I went to this Chili's tonight to celebrate a friends birthday, and we figured as a fun birthday surprise that we would have the waiters surprise her with a free dessert to celebrate. Well as it turns out chili's doesn't offer free birthday desserts for anyone who isn't a child. and the dessert that we were given wasn't even good and was way too over cooked. My friend was tight on money and was hoping that she could get away with just spending $10 tonight, but ended up having to pay almost $20 for a dessert that was more expensive than her food. Awful-Don't go support another restaurant during this time- we made the mistake. We have been waiting in the parking lot for over an hour and a half after the time our curb side pick up was scheduled with not acknowledgement from the staff, along with a dozen other customers who have been waiting... some for over an hour and a half...they won't even answer their phone sat on hold for over 20min so we can't even get through on the phone to ask questions or cancel our order and get our money back. I love Chili's as a go to convenient and affordable option and alternative to fast food. I had been to this Chili's in about a year since moving out of the area, so I will say everything is in comparison to that. Let me start by saying our server was awesome, accommodating and did an excellent job of bringing everything out appropriately and as customized. No wrong orders and no bad food. Now to the issues and why I will likely not return to this location. First, the floors were atrociously dirty. It looked like whole entrees had been left under our table and those surrounding. These were not booths, so all of this was in full view of anyone who walked by. Second, the table we were at was very sticky, it was said that it was the varnish that was coming off or the wrong cleaner had been used. All plausible but still made for an uncomfortable setting. Third, the cups we got were so foggy I thought it was frost, but unfortunately for us, it wasn't. Upon inspection you could see that it was from wear and if that weren't enough there was left over food in two of them. I was very disappointed because I am a huge fan of Chili's fare when I am out and about shopping. When I worked in the area this place was my go to for lunch and after work drinks. It was in much better shape. It is always packed on your peak days and evenings, so I would expect the abundance of staff would be managed better to keep things running and clean. There were several staff members standing around chatting. So although this was a busy Saturday afternoon, all the tables were not too full for those working to keep the floors and tabletops clean. read more

This location really made me think, "why haven't I been to Chili's in so long?". The service was excellent, Anthony was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. He offered suggestions and gave a detailed description of what to expect with our meals. The restaurant was clean and the host/hostess' we're very inviting. Boo. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but I was not pleased at all with my experience here. Came on a slow Monday night, and sat down at the bar to enjoy some specials with my mom. Our bartender was nice enough, but very slow and much more intent on her cleaning projects than wondering if we needed anything. The food was typical for a Chili's, of which I'm not a huge fan of to begin with; but unfortunately my stomach started to hurt and turn before even leaving the restaurant. Not a fun night. Sorry. I'm really not a fan of chain restaurants, but Chili's has really stepped their game up! They now have an electronic system if you want to order another drink or a refill, and their quality of food has greatly improved! I ordered the sweet and smoky burger and it was delicious! The only complaint I have with my burger was that it was a little too greasy. Another complaint I have is that the server offered us chips and queso - but we did not know there was a charge for it. Just a small charge, but it would've been nice to have known beforehand. This location also offers BOGO margaritas - which the location in White Marsh doesn't, so that was a big plus to dinner that night! The server seemed really busy, so I was okay that she wasn't as attentive as she could've been. Overall, I had a decent experience and would return to this location again. read more

Once again, Chilis has failed the general public. Their only job is to make food and serve it to their customers who are paying a substantial fee for generic food. With the relatively new carry out option, Chilis now no longer has to serve the customer and ensure their comfort while dining, they just have to simply give you the correct food. This they seem incapable of doing. Once again, none of the employees bothered to stop for FIVE SECONDS to ensure that we were receiving the correct order, and we ended up having to drive 20 minutes home, then 20 minutes back in the rain to swap the food we were given for our now cold meal. The employee who was notified of the error said that our money would be refunded- that to me sounded fair (they also gave us a 10 dollar gift receipt so they could bait us back to give us the wrong food again). However, we never received the refund. This is not the first time Chili's has given me the completely wrong order (didn't match the receipt), even so I would have given three stars if they hadn't lied about the refund. Two times is two times too many. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice..... You're not foolin me again! read more

One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. It wasn't so much our waiter (who was new) as the kitchen and the manager. We were here today (Father's Day 2017). We arrived at 2:00 PM, were seated by 2:20 and didn't get our food until 3:40. Yes, you read that right. No, the restaurant wasn't super busy. We watched other patrons come and go while we waited for our entrees. We were ready to leave, but the manager took 45 minutes to come out and speak to us. We didn't walk out of the door until 5:05. My lemonade came in a dirty glass that had food in it. To be fair, the manager discounted our bill a few dollars, but her effort and words were extremely halfhearted. I felt as if she didn't want to deal with us. Had I felt that she actually cared, I would have been fine, but she didn't and here I am. I will also formally be complaining with corporate. We had multiple tabs on our table, and I was charged for someone else's meal. Others were charged wrong amounts. At no point were we unreasonable, loud, belligerent or difficult to deal with. There was no reason for the poor service. It was an overall bad experience. Chili's Bel Air had a chance to put a great cap on a fantastic Father's day. Instead, our dinner party walked out fuming and upset. I will not be eating here again unless it's for free. read more

Come here a lot with family and friends. 2 for 20 is a great deal, and they have coupons come out often which is very nice. The food here is average, I recommend the chicken enchilada soup! The chips and salsa- to die for. Deliciously and dangerously addicting. They have a great drink selection as well. Service is usually average, but I have had a reoccurring issue with it. Each time the employees seem very interested in cleaning projects- spraying, sweeping, etc while people eating are feet away. Always told that was a big no-no in the restaurant world, sorry I don't want dust going into my food. Overall a good place to eat, great deals and a good place for groups to get together. read more

My family went to the Bel Air, Maryland Chili's tonight after I got off of work to celebrate my daughter's 5th birthday (she loves chili's and we go there at least once a month). We were waited on my a noticeably pregnant waitress who seemed preoccupied. We ordered our food and were enjoying a nice meal when the power went out. Our food was quite tasty (as usual) but sadly my daughter could not get the lava cake that she had her heart set on which was understandable since the power was out and they had no way to heat anything.. The terrible part is that when I asked our waitress if she and the Staff could sing happy birthday to my daughter (which we have observed them doing in the past for others and my daughter was really looking forward to), the wiatress replied that they could not do that since the power was out but they could do it the next time we visited.......I did not realize that electrical power was needed for this function. I had had a long day at work and did not have the energy or desire to beg or demand that the staff sing to my daughter. The staff by the way was mostly sitting by the takeout door hanging out together....they were not busy at all. Chili's, you should counsel or fire that waitress. Please do not let this happen to anyone else. We use to love going to your establishment but will now be searching for a more friendly environment. I have dined at many Chili's locations across the US but there is one particular Chili's that is by far the best location. That is the Belair Chili's in Maryland. My wife and I have always had the best food, drinks, and warm friendly atmosphere at this location. It's just different than any other Chili's we've been to. It is kind of like a super friendly atmosphere where the managers and servers go way out of their way to make everyone feel special. I see how hard they all work but they always make time to greet, meet, and provide superior service. The food and drinks are also just better than any other Chili's we've visited. By the way, the new burgers and ribs are way better than they used to be and last week I had the new Asian salad with grilled salmon and it was awsome.
